Description
RELATED APPLICATIONS

The present disclosure relates to subject matter contained in priority Korean Application No. 10-2006-0104330 filed on 26 Oct. 2006, which is herein expressly incorporated by reference in its entirety.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an artificial nail, and more particular, to an artificial nail having an improved appearance because a pattern formed on the upper surface of the artificial nail has corners and thus looks like a jewel, in which the pattern comprises a first plane and one or more second planes abutting the first plane with a clear boundary line, and the first plane and the second planes are arranged at different tilt angles to provide protruding boundary lines.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional artificial nail is disclosed in Korean Utility Model No. 20-0327518.

According to the artificial nail of the conventional art, an upper surface of the artificial nail is a curved surface.

Since the conventional artificial nail has limited ability to have a good appearance, an additional decoration or sticker has been used in order to improve the appearance of the artificial nail.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problem, and it is an object of the present invention to provide an artificial nail having an improved appearance due to the pattern formed on the upper surface of the artificial nail, in which the pattern comprises a first plane and one or more second planes abutting the first plane, and the first plane and the second planes are arranged at different tilt angles, so that one or more protruding boundary lines is provided between the first plane and the second plane, and thus the pattern looks like a jewel.

In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of an artificial nail comprising a nail base which has a pattern thereon, in which the pattern comprises a first plane and one or more second planes abutting the first plane and the first plane and the second planes are arranged at different tilt angles so that a protruding boundary line is formed between the first plane and the second planes.

The protruding boundary line may create a good artificial appearance, like a jewel.

Since at least one of the first plane and the second planes is a flat plane, the upper surface of the artificial nail glitters like a jewel, such as diamond, and thus the artificial nail has an improved appearance.

Since the nail base is manufactured through an injection molding method, the manufacturing time and cost of the artificial nail are reduced. Further, since at least one of the first plane and the second plane has the diamond shape, the effect of improving the appearance of the artificial nail is enhanced.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

For reference, configurations of the embodiments of the present invention that are similar to those of inventions of the related art will not be redundantly described herein, and reference is to be made to the related art inventions.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating an artificial nail according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating an artificial nail according to another embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a bottom perspective view illustrating an artificial nail according to the best embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating an artificial nail set according to the best embodiment of the present invention.

As shown in FIG. 1 through FIG. 4, the artificial nail according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a nail base 100, and the nail base 100 has a pattern on the upper surface thereof. The pattern comprises a first plane and one or more second planes abutting the first plane, and the first plane and the second plane are arranged at different tilt angles so that a protruding boundary line 111 is provided between the first plane and the second plane.

The nail base 100 is a body that has a nail shape and is attached onto the upper surface of a toenail or a fingernail.

The nail base 100 has a plurality of planes on the upper surface thereof.

The planes include one first plane and one or more second planes abutting the first plane.

The first plane and the second plane are arranged to have different tilt angles, and thus the protruding boundary line 111 is formed between the first plane and the second plane.

At least one of the first plane and the second plane is a flat plane 110, and the flat plane makes the upper surface of the nail base 100 glitter like a jewel such as a diamond, providing an improved appearance.

At least one of the first plane and the second plane has a polygonal shape, such as a diamond shape.

According to the best embodiment of the present invention, all of the flat planes 110 have the diamond shape.

A plurality of flat planes 110 is provided on an upper surface of the nail base 100 in a manner such that flat planes 110 having a polygonal shape are arranged around another flat plane 110. The plurality of flat planes 110 is arranged to form an overall curve along the curve of the upper surface of the nail base 100.

According to this structure, the protruding boundary lines between the flat planes give the nail base a good appearance, like that of a jewel.

Thanks to the above-described structure, the upper surface of the nail base is glossy and the protruding boundary lines 111, serving as connection lines of the adjacent planes, are clear, so the glossy surface and the clear protruding boundary lines give the nail base an improved appearance.

That is, since light is refracted from each plane of the artificial nail, like a diamond, the artificial nail has a glittering effect.

Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the artificial nail 100 can have at least one curved plane 120. Thanks to the curved plane 120, the design of the artificial nail 100 can vary in a wide range.

According to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the curved plane 120 is band-shaped, and extends in the width direction of a nail.

Thanks to the curved plane 120, the artificial nail looks natural when the artificial nail is put on a fingernail or a toenail.

The lower surface of the nail base 100 is curved so that it fits the surface of the nail to which the artificial nail is attached.

Thanks to the curved surface, the artificial nail can be easily attached to a nail.

The nail base 100 has a cutting section 210 protruding from the front edge thereof, and an end of the nail base 100 is connected to a connector 220.

At this time, since the nail base 100 and the cutting section 210 are connected via a thin film, the nail base 100 is easily separated when a user applies even a weak force to the nail base 100 in the vertical direction.

As described above, a plurality of nail bases 100, each having a cutting section 210, is connected to the connector 220, and the artificial nails connected to one connector 220 make an artificial nail set. Accordingly the connector 220 facilitates the transport and storage of the artificial nails.

As shown in FIG. 4, artificial nails 100 having different patterns on upper surfaces thereof can be connected to the same connector 220.

Since the nail bases 100, the cutting sections 210 and the connector 220 are manufactured at the same time through an injection molding method, the manufacturing time and cost are reduced, and the manufacturing process is simplified.

Thanks to the injection molding method, mass production is possible and the total manufacturing cost is decreased.

When performing the injection molding method, a mold that can provide an upper surface of a nail base with a pattern comprising a plurality of flat planes having an overall diamond shape is additionally prepared and used.

As described above, the artificial nail according to the present invention has the following advantageous effects.

The nail base has an upper surface that comprises the first plane and one or more second planes abutting the first plane, in which the first plane and the second plane are arranged at different tilt angles so that a protruding boundary line between the first plane and the second planes is clearly visible. As a result, the appearance of the artificial nail is improved.

At least one of the first plane and the second planes is a flat plane, so that the surface of the artificial nail glitters like a diamond. This structure gives the artificial nail a good appearance.

Since the nail base is manufactured through an injection molding method, the manufacturing cost and time are reduced. Further, if at least one of the first plane and the second plane has a diamond shape, the appearance of the artificial nail is further improved.

Although the decoration for a nail according to the present invention has been described with reference to embodiments of the present invention, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
