Telescopic hand tool
A telescopic hand tool consists of a main body, a bar and a positioning device. The bar possesses an axial hole bored axially from its one end for engaging with a telescopic bar of the main body, and a sliding groove dug around its surface, bored with a ball hole. The positioning device includes a restricting knob, a compression spring and a restricting plate. The restricting knob can slide restrictively along within the sliding groove by means of a restricting block so as to let the main body move in the bar axially. The compression spring can push elastically the restricting knob back to its original position to press on a steel ball restricted in a restricting ball hole of the main body, keeping the main body locked restrictively in the bar.
1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a hand tool, particularly to one that can be adjusted telescopically and kept immovably by means of a knob able to re-position automatically.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Commonly, as shown in
The objective of this invention is to offer a telescopic hand tool.
The main characteristics of the invention are a main body, a bar and a positioning device. The bar is provided with an axial hole bored axially from its one end for engaging with a telescopic bar of the main body, and a sliding groove dug around its surface, bored with a ball hole. The positioning device is composed of a restricting knob, a compression spring and a restricting plate. The restricting knob can slide restrictively along the sliding groove by means of a restricting block so as to let the main body move in the bar axially. The compression spring can push elastically the restricting knob back to its original position to press on a steel ball constrained in a restricting ball hole of the main body, keeping the main body locked restrictively in the bar. Therefore, by means of the restricting block of the restricting knob keeping the steel ball in the restricting ball hole immovably, the main body is positioned precisely and stably in the bar. And, the compression spring can elastically push the restricting knob back to its original position to restrict the steel ball from moving. The restricting knob can be just operated to move right or left by a finger for adjusting the length of the main body, conforming with requirements of humanization and simplification.
This invention is better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
As shown in
The main body 20 is provided with a working head 21 formed in its front portion and a telescopic bar 22 formed in its rear portion. The working head 21 is provided with a ratchet set 211 for engaging with a tool. The telescopic bar 22 formed cylindrical is provided with plural restricting ball holes 221 bored axially with equidistance, and a shallow groove 222 concaved with a depth lower than that of the restricting ball holes 221, for communicating with the restricting ball holes 221.
The bar 30 formed as an annular column is provided with an axial hole 31 bored axially from its one end for engaging with the telescopic bar 22 of the main body 20, a sliding groove 32 dug near the opening of the axial hole 31 to form as a two-step ladder, and a ball hole 33 bored in the sliding groove 32 for a steel ball 34 to fit in. The diameter of the ball hole 33 is slightly larger than that of the steel ball 34, enabling the steel ball 34 positioned restrictively in the restricting ball holes 221 of the main body 20. In addition, the bar 30 is also provided with a projection 35 planted longitudinally at two sides of the sliding groove 32 respectively and a grip 36 wrapped around a portion opposite to the axial hole 31 for a user to hold.
The positioning device 40, as shown in
In assembly, as shown in
In using, as shown in
As shown in
The advantages of the invention are abbreviated below as can be seen from the foresaid description. By means of the restricting block 411 of the restricting knob 41 keeping the steel ball 34 in the restricting ball hole 221 immovably, the main body 20 is positioned precisely and stably in the bar 30. And, the compression spring 42 can elastically push the restricting knob 41 back to its original position to restrict the steel ball 34 from moving easily. The restricting knob 41 can be just operated to move right or left by a finger for adjusting the length of the main body 20, conforming with requirements of humanization and simplification.
While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
