The present invention relates to a packing structure and, particularly, to a packaging structure configured for providing a supporting and protecting structure to a portable electronic device.
BACKGROUNDShock absorbers are quite often provided in a packaging box configured for receiving a portable electronic device therein to protect the portable device from shock damage during transportation. It is quite common to stuff the packaging box with shock absorbers like foam-rubber, paperboard, and plastic materials. The shock absorbers can keep the portable device from colliding with other accessories inside the same packaging box. The shock absorbers also help prevent collisions between the portable device and the packaging box. However, in most of the cases, the shock absorbers are made from expanded polystyrene or polystyrene, which are harmful to the environment and should be eliminated.
To reduce the impact to the environment, in some cases, multi-compartment structures made of recycled paper are utilized instead of the shock absorbers. The multi-compartment structure defines several compartments configured for respectively receiving the portable device and the accessories of the portable device. In some cases, the typical multi-compartment structure is formed by positioning several small boxes inside the packaging box. The portable device and the accessories are respectively received in these small boxes and, ultimately, these small boxes are received inside the packaging box. However, the multi-compartment structure tends to be complicated, time-consuming, and expensive. Therefore, it is desired to develop an improved packaging structure, which is capable of protecting the portable device, simplifying the assembling process, reducing the consumption of raw materials and facilitating packaging the portable device and the accessories in the box.
SUMMARYIn accordance with a present embodiment, a packaging structure includes a box and a shock absorbent member. The box includes fours sidewalls and a bottom wall. The box is configured for receiving the shock absorbent member therein. The shock absorbent member includes a main sheet, a plurality of side sheets and at least an interleaving sheet. When the shock absorbent member is received in the box, the main sheet is positioned diagonally above the bottom wall and the interleaving sheet is lain against two neighboring sidewalls of the box and at least one receiving room is formed inside the box.
Other advantages and novel features will be drawn from the following detailed description of at least one preferred embodiment, when considered in conjunction with the attached drawings.
Many aspects of the present packaging structure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present packaging structure for protecting portable electronic devices from impact. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
Embodiments of the present packaging structure will now be described in detail below and with reference to the drawings.

The side sheet 22 includes, from rear to front of the absorbent structure 200, a first side sheet 222, a second side sheet 224, and a third side sheet 226. The first side sheet 222, the second side sheet 224 and the third side sheet 226 have the same width but different lengths. The side sheet 24 connects with the main sheet 20 at a second side (not labeled). The side sheet 24 includes, from rear to front of the absorbent structure 200, a fourth side sheet 242, a fifth side sheet 244, and a sixth side sheet 246. The fourth side sheet 242, the fifth side sheet 244 and the sixth side sheet 246 have the same width but different lengths.
The interleaving sheets 23, 25 are respectively connected to the main sheet 20 at a third side and a fourth side opposite to the third side. In this present embodiment, the interleaving sheet 23 is located above the main sheet 20 and includes two edges 231. The two edges 231 are perpendicular to each other. In this present embodiment, the interleaving sheet 23 has a trapeziform-configuration and the two edges 231 form two non-parallel opposite sides of the trapeziform-configuration configured to respectively lie against two neighboring sidewalls (i.e., the first sidewall 11 and the second sidewall 12) of the box 100 when the shock absorbent member 200 is assembled in the box 100 (referring to

The first part 252 and the second part 254 of the interleaving sheet 25 can be folded up along the fold line ‘a’. One angle of each triangle configuration formed by the side sheets abuts against the second part 254 of the interleaving sheet 25. A third rectangular receiving room C is formed between the main sheet 20, the second side sheet 224, the fifth side sheet 244, and the first and second parts 252, 254 of the interleaving sheet 25 (as shown in

The portable device and the accessories can be placed in different receiving rooms to eliminate collision from each other. For example, batteries can be placed in the first receiving room A; earphones can be placed in the second receiving room B; a camera can be placed in the third receiving room C; connection cables/wires/chargers can be placed in the fourth receiving room D; and memory cards can be placed in the fifth receiving room E. In addition, the user manual can be placed above the shock absorbent member 200. The combined height of both the shock absorbent member 200 and the user manual is matched to that of the box 100.
It will be understood that the above particular embodiments and methods are shown and described by way of illustration only. The principles and features of the present invention may be employed in various and numerous embodiments thereof without departing from the scope of the invention as claimed. The above-described embodiments illustrate the scope of the invention but do not restrict the scope of the invention.
