DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The overall form of the two piece devices is shown in FIG. 10 which shows one of the optional connecting shapes that maybe used, viz. the “double triangle” version of the connecting pieces. There are two pieces, designated a left piece and a right piece. Each piece has a handle (1 and 2) that is in connection with a planar shaped brush head (3 and 4). Each piece has a plurality of arched bristles 8 that descend at perpendicular angle to the planar shaped head.

That front edge 7 of the head that is on the other side from the handle is specially shaped so as to fit into a corresponding shape of the corresponding edge on the corresponding piece. For example, these front edges may be of convex and concave shape as seen in FIG. 4 so that the can fit snugly against one another when the two pieces are joined to one another. Or one edge maybe triangular and other of a corresponding angular shape as seen in FIG. 7. Or there may be two such triangles with corresponding angled shapes on the other piece as seen in FIG. 8 and 10. Another version is to have one edge having two rectangular extensions and other having 2 rectangular shaped openings to accommodate them, see FIGS. 1 and 3. Other various shapes and corresponding shapes maybe used without violating the spirit of the invention.

The shapes of these edges can then be chosen so as to give a person a hairline feature that will correspond to the shape chosen. For instance in FIG. 3 the rectangle shapes will form a hairline that outlines a rectangular shape and in FIG. 6 the concave and convex shapes will form a curved hairline. In general it may be said that the various edges of the pieces may be described as linear or like a line and this corresponds to the recipient's hairline. The linear shape may have straight portions as well as curved portions and the portions may be on the whole symmetrical or non symmetrical. FIGS. 11 and 12 show various symmetrical and non symmetrical types of hair lines. Each edge may be said to compromise at least one or more portions so as to create a hairline shape and the portions may be curved or straight. Various geometric shapes readily come to mind and may be described elsewhere in this document.

The bristles 8 are shaped so as to conform to the shape of a persons' head, that is the height of the bristle as they extend downwardly from the head is varied so as to form a curvature of the mass of bristles so as to conform to the head, see FIG. 2, 5. The pieces are joined and held in place to one another by means of a sort of a pin on one member and a corresponding hole on the other member. The hole is adapted so that it forms a secure connection with the pin when the two pieces are brought together. See e.g. 25 and 26 in FIG. 7 or 5 and 6 in FIG. 1; where the pin of one of the pieces fits into a corresponding opening in the other piece. Other means for engaging the two pieces to one another may be used without varying from the spirit of the invention, such means may include like snaps, VELCRO (Trademark name for mating materials) portions, or other means.

The bristles 8 extend downwardly from the head and having a slight curvature to them so as to conform to the shape of the head of the person. The curvature in this regard is with respect to the length of the bristles themselves when seen in the front view as shown in FIG. 2. This curvature is in distinction to the various shapes of the edges of the pieces which are shown more clearly in FIGS. 4, 6-10. When in use, the person first chooses a specially shaped head that has a shape that will correspond to the desired hairline.

As seen in FIG. 3 choosing the rectangular shaped pieces will result in a hairline, for the recipient, that runs in the shape of a square or rectangle. In FIG. 6 choosing the concave and convex shapes will result in the hairline being of curved shape. The person or the hair stylist performing work on the recipient, will then join the selected pieces to one another by moving the pieces toward one another and temporarily unifying them by bring them into secure connection by means of the pin and pin hole arrangement. (See e.g. 25 and 26 in FIG. 7 or 5 and 6 in FIG. 1) While holding the two pieces together, the pieces are then placed on the forehead and the user (could be a stylist or the recipient himself) then firmly drags the unit back over the head in order to organize the hair in the selected area where the hairline is to be formed. While holding firmly down, the two piece are then separated and pulled apart on opposite sides of the head therefore leaving behind the imprint or shape (e.g straight, triangular, non symmetrical, etc) of the selected hairline.

The stylist then lightly holds each handle and places the bristles on opposite sides of the head at an area just above the ears of the recipient. He then joins the pieces to one another by moving the pieces toward one another, lightly across the top of the head and joining them across the top of the head. The pieces can then be removed from one another by moving them upward and away from the head.

It is possible that professional hair stylists can create some of these shapes of hairlines e.g. a straight hairline by skilled use of the comb or other object, other shapes such as the curved shape in FIG. 6 or designs shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 would be nearly impossible for even professional hair stylists. Thus not only can amateurs benefit from this product so can professionals.

Other shapes for the front edges may be used without varying from the spirit of the invention. It is thought that various designed shapes may be find great utility with this invention. Another option is to have the heads able to detach from the handles so that one can then put on a chosen set of heads onto the handle and then form the hair part. An entire set of various shaped heads maybe sold with one pair of handles to go along with them.
