The handle has a distal end and a proximal end opposite to the distal end and adjacent to the head when the head is attached to the handle. The proximal end has an upper surface that is at least partially chamfered. The handle has a longitudinal axis and a cross-sectional area extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The chamfered surface and the cross-sectional area define therebetween an angle ? from about 15° to about 30°.

Abstract: A connector for repeatedly attaching and detaching a head to and from a handle of a manual oral care implement comprises a first substantially cylindrical section, a second substantially cylindrical section, and an at least partially conically shaped section connecting the first and second cylindrical sections. The first and second substantially cylindrical sections and the at least partially conically section define a longitudinal length extension of the connector, wherein the first substantially cylindrical section and the second substantially cylindrical section are placed off-center with respect to the longitudinal length extension.

The utility portion includes a back member acting as a support from which brushing protections extend, and defines a first plane and a second plane perpendicularly intersecting the first plane. The back member is flexibly movable with respect to the handle portion on the first plane and the second plane. The utility portion further includes a pair of spines arranged at opposite sides of the back member for controlling the flexible movement of the back member whereby the extent of control of movement of the back member by the spines are either limited to the movement on only the first plane or substantially more on the first plane than the second plane.

Each handle assembly has an elongated rod member and an elongated sleeve disposed about its associated rod member. A first connector attaches the rod members to a base of the head body. A second connector joins the two handle assemblies together to stiffen the handle. In use, the hairstylist uses the palm area of the hand to rotate the two handle assemblies, which rotates the brush head, to reduce strain on the hairstylist's thumb, fingers and wrist.

Abstract: A lice, flea or other parasitic insect comb has a handle that extends over top of the metal teeth of the comb and is shaped to be comfortable in the hand. The handle can comprise a U-shaped portion having a hand grip portion and a pair of spaced-apart struts that extend between the hand grip portion and the metal teeth of the comb. Preferably, the hand grip portion is spaced from a plane containing or aligned with the metal teeth and is vertically aligned with the metal teeth of the comb. Such a handle configuration can facilitate positioning of the teeth of the comb substantially flat against or parallel to the scalp, which makes removal of lice and nits more effective. In some configurations, the comb teeth can be wider than standard lice combs, so it covers more hair and therefore takes less time to remove nits and lice.

The means for wrapping hair may also be used to reverse the process and let hair down in an organized style.

Other embodiments provide a method for using the detection plate to detect and remove nits from hairs of a person. The method may include placing a thin layer of hair of a person over the detection plate, detecting nits by viewing the hairs against a backdrop provided by the detection plate, and removing any detected nits.

The displaceable cap may be slideably or peelably coupled to the handle. The handle may include ballast to position a centroid of the cosmetic brush closer to the end of the handle. In embodiments where the displaceable cap is a slideable cap, an end cap may be fixed to the end of the handle and the slideable cap and the end cap may form a uniform elongated cylindrical shape having the same outer diameter. The displaceable cap may also include a ventilation system. By virtue of having a displaceable cap permanently coupled to the handle of the cosmetic brush system, the user cannot misplace the cap and the system is portable and convenient.

Abstract: This invention is a cylindrical device placed on your finger or thumb and contains a 3 piece apparatus that can be detached coming out of the cylinder wither vertically at the apex, or on the sides. There is a pick sticking directly upwards from the finger and a mini comb and a brush between 90 to 180 degrees on each end of the pick (alternative manufacturing methods). The pick is pushed into the center of the braid and will break the braid apart. The comb or brush is used to straighten the hair as the pick breaks the braid apart. The entire process, while usually performed with two hands, can be accomplished with one hand thus making the device easier, less tiring and less expensive than alternative devices currently on the market.

Abstract: A hair brush is shown and disclosed. The hair brush has a row of loops on the first side running from near the handle to the top mounted in a retention material. Next to the row of loops, is located a row of bundles of boar bristles. These groupings of boar bristles are a bundle of individual boar bristles mounted in the retention material. This alternating pattern of lines or rows of loops and bristles continues to the other side of the brush and the last row near the second side is a row of loops. The loops can be configured such that they are parallel to the sides or the top. These rows of loops on the sides of the hair brush help to keep the hair brush from pulling on and possibly damaging the hair extensions that have been installed into a users natural hair. The bundles of boar bristles provide additional shine and manageability to the hair. Also shown is an arrangement of a single loop surrounded by a plurality of bristles and mounted in the retention material.

A mechanism is for distributing the hair coloring fluid onto the hair. The distributing mechanism is retained to the cap and is in fluid communication with the flexible container. When the flexible container is squeezed the hair coloring fluid will be forced through the distributing mechanism and applied onto the hair.

Abstract: A hair brush for hot curling includes a body, a closing cap, a connection member and a brush part. The body made of ceramic coated aluminum includes holes through which a steel teeth of the brush part protrudes. The closing cap engages with the body formed by assembling segmented portions. The connection member for connecting the segmented portions of the body includes a body part and an insertion groove to which the body is inserted. The brush part includes a handle part and a fastening part, a first end of which is connected to the handle part and a second end is engaged with one end of the assembled body. An iron core is formed by twisting two or more wires, one end of which is securely engaged within the fastening part, a plurality of the steel teeth being formed on the iron core in a circumferential direction thereof.

Abstract: A half-moon brush or other cosmetic applicator is in two parts, each having a head and a flat handle. The handle of each part has a wide major face and a narrow side face. The two parts are combined in a first configuration with the two narrow side faces abutting and the heads side by side to form a single wide, flat head, and are combined in a second configuration with the two wide major faces abutting and the heads face to face to form a single thicker, less wide, flat head. Each of the parts of the applicator has magnetic components that cooperate with magnetic components in the other part to hold the applicator parts together in both the first and the second configurations.

Abstract: A system and method of configuring the prongs on a hairbrush. A brush head is provided having a face surface and a plurality of prongs. The prongs are arranged in parallel rows that include at least a first row, a second row, and a third row. The prongs are positioned in the first row of prongs so that the first row of prongs engages a first volume of hair from a lock of hair being brushed. The prongs are positioned in the second row of prongs so that the second row of prongs engages a second volume of hair that is greater than the first volume of hair. Likewise, the prongs in the third row of prongs are positioned so that the third row of prongs engages a third volume of hair that is greater than the second volume of hair.

Abstract: One embodiment of an applicator comprises a brush head with a ferrule, and a brush handle. The ferrule has the head at one end and the handle at the other end. Magnetic elements, at least one of which is a magnet, are attached to the brush handle and ferrule where the two parts connect. The brush head can be removed from the handle, assembled with the handle, and switched easily whenever needed. The ferrule can be kept firmly on the handle by the action of the magnet inside. The head can be retracted by sliding a sleeve mounted on the handle forward over the sides of the head. The head, when removed from the handle, can be washed without the risk of water penetrating the sleeve mechanism. The head can also be replaced or interchanged, which can greatly enlarge the versatility of the brush and also avoids waste of material.

Abstract: A device and method for mixing and applying hair coloring chemicals to a user's hair. The device comprises a brush applicator, a first compartment capable of holding the brush applicator in a locked position, a second compartment containing a first hair coloring chemical, a third compartment containing a second hair coloring chemical, and a membrane. The membrane is located between the second compartment and the third compartment such that the first hair coloring chemical is separated from the second hair coloring chemical by the membrane when the brush applicator is in the locked position. When the brush applicator is released from the locked position, the brush applicator is movable toward the membrane to puncture the membrane. Upon puncture, the membrane retracts to a peripheral edge of the membrane to cause the first hair coloring chemical and the second hair coloring chemical to be mixed together.
