Underwear Garment
An underwear garment comprises a front portion and a rear portion which form a pair of boxer shorts, and an underpants portion within the underwear garment. The underpants portion substantially extends at the front portion of the boxer shorts and is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at at least one portion of the upper edge of the front portion of the boxer shorts and at a further portion in the rear thereof, which is arranged between the crotch of the boxer shorts and the upper edge of the rear portion of the boxer shorts. The underpants portion comprises two free sides that are interconnected by containment elastic elements.
The object of the present invention is an underwear garment, particularly a men's underwear garment.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONMost popular men's underwear garments are known to be grouped in two categories: boxer shorts and the so-called underpants. The first type is generally selected by those who prefer an elegant and comfortable garment even though capable of offering poor support, while the second type is selected by those who prefer a close-fitting underwear garment that is capable of offering good support.
Garments are known, which join the two types, as they provide a complete pair of underpants within a boxer. In this case, the underpants and boxer shorts are provided to be joined at the waist throughout the circumference thereof. This combined garment, while attempting to eliminate the inherent drawbacks of the two types and summing up the advantages thereof, does not allow obtaining an optimum result. In fact, the provision of the entire underpants makes the underwear garment quite bulky and rather uncomfortable to wear.
From what has been stated above, it emerges how the requirement is felt of having a combined underwear garment, i.e. that joins the advantages of boxer shorts and underpants, without however bringing about further drawbacks.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTIONThe problem at the heart of the present invention is to provide an underwear garment having such structural and functional characteristics as to meet said requirement, while overcoming the drawbacks mentioned with reference to the prior art.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThis problem is resolved by means of an underwear garment in accordance with claim 1. Particularly, this problem is resolved by means of an underwear garment comprising a front portion and a rear portion that are joined to form a pair of boxer shorts, and comprising an underpants portion being arranged within the underwear garment and substantially extending at the front portion of the boxer shorts. This advantageous characteristic allows obtaining a synergic effect from the connection of the two garments, and avoids introducing further drawbacks such as an excessive bulk deriving from the presence of a complete pair of underpants, i.e. double fabric throughout the circumference of the underwear garment.
As a further advantageous aspect, it is provided that the underpants portion is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at at least one tract of the upper edge of the front portion of the boxer shorts and in the rear at a further tract that does not match the upper edge of the rear portion of the boxer shorts. This allows reducing the extension of the underpants portion.
By providing a front opening in the boxer shorts, a complementary opening is also advantageously provided in the underpants portion, the underpants portion and the boxer shorts being connected to each other at the two openings. Thereby, the practical advantages of both garments can be maintained, while ensuring a perfect fit.
In addition to what has been discussed above, the underpants portion is advantageously provided to comprise two free sides, which are preferably associated with containment elastic elements. This characteristic enhances the containment and support effect of the underpants portion.
Advantageously, the boxer shorts and the underpants portion are made of two different fabrics, the underpants portion fabric being preferable more elastic than that of the boxer shorts, in order to further enhance the synergic combination of both parts.
Finally, the boxer shorts shape also defines a further novel characteristic since the front portion of the boxer shorts are made of a first side panel and a second side panel that are stitched to each other at the crotch and a midline while the rear portion of the boxer shorts is made of a first side panel, a second side panel and a middle panel that are stitched to each other at the crotch and at two rear lines. This configuration allows the underpants portion to be directly joined to the middle panel of the boxer shorts rear portion, thus simplifying the manufacture of the garment and increasing the comfort of the latter.

With reference to said figures, with 10 has been generally designated an underwear garment, particularly a men's underwear garment.
Said underwear garment comprises a front portion 12 and a rear portion 14 that are joined to form a pair of boxer shorts. By “boxer shorts” is meant a trousers-shaped underwear garment, i.e. provided with a tract of leg.

Advantageously, the underpants portion 16 substantially extends at the front portion 12 of the boxer shorts.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the underpants portion 16 has a substantially trapezoid shape, in which the large base results to be connected to the front portion of the boxer shorts, while the small base results to be connected to the rear portion of the boxer shorts.
Particularly, the underpants portion 16 is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at at least one tract of the upper edge 18 of the front portion 12 of the boxer shorts and at a further tract 20 in the rear thereof, which does not match the upper edge 22 of the rear portion 14 of the boxer shorts.
With reference to the figures, the upper edge 18 and 22 of the front and rear portions of the boxer is made of an elastic edge. Particularly, the underpants portion 16 is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at the elastic edge.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the underpants portion 16 is connected to the rear of the boxer shorts at said further tract 20 arranged between the crotch 24 of the boxer shorts and the upper edge 22 of the rear portion 14 of the boxer shorts. Optionally, the underpants portion 16 is connected to the rear of the boxer shorts at said further tract 20 that is substantially arranged at the crotch 24 of the boxer shorts.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the boxer shorts comprises a front opening 26 and the underpants portion 16 comprises an opening 28 complementary to said front opening 26. Advantageously, the underpants portion 16 and the boxer shorts are connected to each other at the opening 26 and at the complementary opening 28.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the underpants portion 16 and the boxer shorts are connected to each other by means of stitches 30 extending along the sides of the opening 26 and complementary opening 28.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the underpants portion 16 comprises two free sides 32. Advantageously, the free sides 32 are associated with containment elastic elements 34. In accordance with what has been described above, the free sides extend between the upper edge 18 of the front portion 12 and the further tract 20 in which the underpants portion 16 and boxer shorts are joined in the rear.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the boxer is made of a first fabric and the underpants portion 16 is made of a second fabric. The second fabric has a different elasticity from that of the first fabric, preferably a greater elasticity than the first fabric.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the second fabric is made of at least one thread of elastomeric material, preferably added to a thread of a base material (for example, cotton). The thread of elastomeric material can be added to the warp and/or weft.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the front portion 12 of the boxer shorts is made of a first side panel 36 and a second side panel 38 that are stitched to each other at the crotch and at a midline 40.
In accordance with a possible embodiment, the rear portion 14 of the boxer shorts is made of a first side panel 42, a second side panel 44 and a middle panel 46 that are stitched to each other at the crotch and at two rear lines 48.
Advantageously, the underpants portion 16 is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at at least one tract of the upper edge 18 of the front portion 12 of the boxer shorts and at a further tract 20 in the rear thereof, which is substantially arranged at the middle panel 46 of the rear portion 14 of the boxer shorts.
From what has been discussed above, it may be appreciated how the underwear garment according to the present invention allows satisfying said requirement of obtaining a combined garment, i.e. capable of ensuring both the comfort of boxer shorts and the support of underpants without being required to generate a bulky and unpractical garment.
In fact, the advantageous provision of associating a pair of boxer shorts to an underpants portion being arranged in front of the boxer allows obtaining the advantage of both, as it reduces the bulk particularly in the rear area of the underwear garment.
Furthermore, the provision of two different fabrics allows modulating the elasticity and accordingly the level of support that is offered particularly by the underpants portion, while maintaining the outer structure of the boxer shorts.
A further advantage of the underwear garment according to the invention is that of allowing a material saving, as the extension of the underpants portion is substantially limited only to the front portion of the boxer shorts.
To the preferred embodiment of the underwear garment such as described above, those skilled in the art, aiming at satisfying contingent and specific requirements, may carry out a number of modifications, adaptations and replacements of elements with functionally equivalent ones, without however departing form the scope of the claims below.

17. An underwear garment comprising a front portion and a rear portion joined to form a pair of boxer shorts, an underpants portion being arranged within the underwear garment, said underpants portion substantially extending at the front portion of the boxer pants.
18. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said underpants portion is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at least one portion of the upper edge of the front portion of the boxer shorts and at a further portion in the rear thereof, which does not match the upper edge of the rear portion of the boxer shorts.
19. The underwear garment according to claim 18, wherein said underpants portion is connected to the rear of the boxer shorts at said further portion arranged between the crotch of the boxer shorts and the upper edge of the rear portion of the boxer shorts.
20. The underwear garment according to claim 18, wherein said underpants portion is connected to the rear of the boxer shorts at said further portion that is substantially arranged at the crotch of the boxer shorts.
21. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said pair of boxer shorts comprises a front opening and wherein said underpants portion comprises an opening that is complementary to said front opening.
22. The underwear garment according to claim 21, wherein said underpants portion and said pair of boxer shorts are connected to each other at said opening and at said complementary opening.
23. The underwear garment according to claim 22, wherein said underpants portion and said pair of boxer shorts are connected to each other by means of stitches extending along the sides of said opening and said complementary opening.
24. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said underpants portion comprises two free sides.
25. The underpants garment according to claim 24, wherein said free sides are associated with containment elastic elements.
26. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said pair of boxer shorts is made of a first fabric and wherein said underpants portion is made of a second fabric, said second fabric having a different elasticity from that of said first fabric.
27. The underwear garment according to claim 26, wherein said second fabric has a greater elasticity than that of said first fabric.
28. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said front portion of the boxer shorts is made of a first side panel and a second side panel that are stitched to each other at the crotch and at a midline.
29. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said front portion of the boxer shorts is made of a first side panel and a second side panel and a middle panel that are stitched to each other at the crotch and at two rear lines.
30. The underwear garment according to claim 29, wherein said underpants portion is connected to the front of the boxer shorts at least one portion of the upper edge of the front portion of the boxer shorts and at a further portion in the rear thereof, which is substantially arranged at the middle panel of the rear portion of the boxer shorts.
31. The underwear item according to claim 17, wherein the underpants portion has a substantially trapezoid shape, the large base thereof connected to the front portion of the boxer shorts whereas the small base thereof connected to the rear portion of the boxer shorts.
32. The underwear garment according to claim 17, wherein said pair of boxer shorts is made of a first fabric and wherein said underpants portion is made of a second fabric, said second fabric having a different elasticity from that of said first tissue, preferably having a greater elasticity than that of said first fabric which is obtained by introducing an elastomeric thread in the warp and/or weft of said second fabric.
