CROSS-REFERENCES TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims priority based on Korean Patent Application No. 10-2008-0081551, filed Aug. 20, 2008, both of which are hereby incorporated by reference in their entirety.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a nail pack, and more particularly, to a nail pack which is temporarily adhered onto the surface of a fingernail or a toenail (which hereinafter will be referred to as a ‘nail’ for short) in order to provide a moisturizing effect and nutrition to a damaged nail.

BACKGROUND ART

In the past, most women applied a manicure (polish) on nails in pursuit of beauty of hands or feet. As men as well as women have recently been interested in beauty more and more, nail art becomes very popular as a way of creating beauty.

The nail art, which is a creative art operation on nails without ending in just application of a manicure on the nail surface, is one form of culture for enjoying fashion through designing using various methods. The methods for the nail art may include hand painting which directly paints a desired creative design on a fingernail by using enamel or acrylic colors with a brush, air brushing which sprays color inks with color mixture by using a machine, nail jewelry piercing which fixes jewelry by piercing the fingernail, and others which make designs on the fingernail by using tapes or cubic designs on the finger nail by using acrylic powder.

However, materials used in the nail art, including a manicure, include various chemicals harmful to human bodies, such as toluene, phthalate, and formaldehyde. If those materials are applied to the nail repetitively for a long time, the nail is likely to be damaged. Moreover, if the nail is carelessly left, it is prone to damage such as crack or chap due to short of moisture.

The nail roughly includes a nail root, a nail bed, and a nail body. The nail root is a part in which a new cell of the nail is created and if the nail root is damaged, the nail does not grow well. On the other hand, the nail bed includes sensory nervous tissue and capillary vessel so that it allows the nail to express the pink color and serves for metabolism and moisture supply. If the nail bed is damaged, blood and moisture are not sufficiently provided to the nail, causing the nail to be pale, cracked, and easily broken.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been made to solve the foregoing problem and an object thereof is to provide a nail pack which is adhered to the surface of a nail such as a fingernail or a toenail to supply nutrition and moisture to the nail, thereby alleviating a damage of the nail.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a nail pack which has excellent adhesion strength by being flexible and freely deformed while being viscously adhered to the surface of a nail, and can also be removed easily.

To achieve the foregoing objects, the present invention provides a nail pack including a base sheet (11) having elasticity or flexibility to be adhered to and cover a surface of a fingernail or a toenail and a moisturizing agent or nutrient applied to one side or both sides of the base sheet (11).

In the present invention according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, to improve adhesive strength, a flap (12) is formed at a circumferential edge of the base sheet (11).

In the present invention according to a more preferred embodiment of the present invention, a boundary between the base sheet (11) and the flap (12) is in the shape of zigzag or wave when viewed from top to improve adhesive strength, or the outer ring of the flap (12) is in the shape of zigzag or wave when viewed from side to provide superior peeling property.

In the present invention according to a more preferred embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of air holes (13) are bored in the base sheet (11) to double air permeability, or the base sheet (11) is rounded to protrude upward in a convex shape.

According to the present invention, a moisturizing agent applied to a base sheet is adhered to the surface of a nail for a predetermined time and supplies moisture and nutrition, so that a damage of the nail can be alleviated and elasticity, flexibility, and gloss are given to the hard nail.

Moreover, by supplying nutrition to the nail root, the nail root can maintain a healthy state, thereby facilitating the creation of a fingernail or toenail and allowing the nail to maintain the healthy state as a whole.

Furthermore, when a boundary between the base sheet and a flap and the circumferential edge of the flap are in the shape of zigzag or wave, the nail pack is naturally pressed in response to curves around the nail, thereby providing good adhesion strength and easiness in peeling for removal.

In addition, when a plurality of air holes are formed in the base sheet, air permeability is improved, so that any trouble is not caused and skin swelling can be minimized even when a user applies the nail pack on the nail for a long time, for example, sleeps while applying the nail pack on the nail.

When the base sheet is rounded to protrude upward in a convex shape, the nail pack can be more firmly adhered to the round nail, thereby providing sufficient moisturizing effect.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view and a partial enlarged view showing a structure of a nail pack according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a side view of a nail pack according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, the detailed description referring to the drawings are intended to describe an embodiment of the present invention and are not intended to limit the present invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view and a partial enlarged view showing a structure of a nail pack according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a side view of a nail pack according to the present invention.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a nail pack (10) according to the claimed invention includes a base sheet (11) made of an elastic and flexible material such as pulp or nonwoven fabric, and a moisturizing agent or nutrition applied on one side or both sides of the base sheet (11).

According to the present invention, a flap (12) may be further included at a circumferential edge of the base sheet (11) and the base sheet (11) and the flap (12) may be formed of the same materials as one piece. If the base sheet (11) and the flap (12) are formed as one piece, the moisturizing agent or nutrition may also be applied to one side or both sides of the flap (12). The nail pack (10) according to the present invention is adhered to the nail and skin around the nail by using viscosity of the moisturizing agent or nutrition, so it is not necessary to limit the applying range of the moisturizing agent or nutrition.

The base sheet (11) is formed to a size of about 10 to 30 mm in a round or oval shape in order to cover the surface of a fingernail or toenail and a surrounding area thereof. However, in the present invention, the shape and size of the nail pack (10) are not limited.

The moisturizing agent or nutrition are not specifically limited if they are not harmful to human bodies and can supply moisturizing effect or nutrition to the skin like common mask packs. For example, the moisturizing agent or nutrition may be a mixture of keratin and protein refined from fruits containing calcium like a cosmetic pack or may be made in the form of viscous gel or liquid such as essence which is a cosmetic material and then applied to the nail pack (10).

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, as shown in the enlarged view of FIG. 1, a boundary between the base sheet (11) and the flap (12) is curved in the shape of zigzag or wave when viewed from top, whereby when remaining parts of the base sheet (11) and the flap (12) contact with the skin around the nail after most parts of the base sheet (11) are attached to the surface of the nail, the flap (12) is freely curved without being affected by a difference between the heights of the nail and the skin or a curved shape, thereby improving adhesion strength to the nail and the skin.

Moreover, the outermost part of the flap (12) is preferably curved in the shape of zigzag or wave when viewed from side as shown in FIG. 2. In this case, when the flap (12) is adhered to the skin, some of the outermost part of the flap (12), i.e., a top portion of the curved part is spaced apart from the skin by a predetermined distance. By using the top portion, the nail pack (10) can be easily lifted for removal.

It is preferable that a plurality of air holes (13) be formed in the surface of the base sheet (11). According to the present invention, the air holes (13) also include air holes formed in the flap (12). When the air holes (13) are formed in the nail pack (10), air passes through the internal adhered portion, so that skin troubles or swelling caused by lack of air can be suppressed even when the user wears the nail pack for a long time.

According to a more preferred embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, the base sheet (11) may protrude upward, in which the convex protruding portion may be formed round in the shape of a circular arc. The convex base sheet (11) may be formed by providing a convex mold frame to a press compressor used for manufacturing the nail pack (10) and then performing compression with constant heat, but the forming method is not particularly limited. By forming the base sheet (11) in a convex shape, the base sheet (11) can have a shape corresponding to the convex surface of the actual nail, thereby enhancing adhesion strength with respect to the nail.

While the foregoing description and the attached drawings suggest only an embodiment according to the technical spirit of the present invention, it is understood that because the invention is not limited by the illustrated embodiment, but various embodiments are possible within a scope which does not fall beyond the overall technical spirit of the present invention, the scope of the present invention includes not only details in claims but also equivalents thereof.
