ADJUSTABLE POLE MOUNT

An adjustable pole mount includes a pair of mounting members and a fixing portion. Each of the mounting members includes a clamping portion, a first connecting portion, and a second connecting portion. The first connecting portion and the second connecting portion are respectively connected to two opposite ends of the clamping portion and each define at least one adjusting hole. The fixing portion is connected to at least one of the pair of mounting members. The clamping portions of the mounting members cooperatively clamp the pole. Guide bolts extend through the adjusting holes and are coupled to nuts. Distance between the clamping portions can be adjusted by way of adjusting the coupling position of the nuts on the guide bolts.

Description
BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to fixing structures, and more particularly to an adjustable pole mount.

2. Description of Related Art

Currently, poles with different diameters are widely implemented for supporting equipment, such as street lamps. The equipment is usually fixed to the pole using pole mounts. However, because poles come in so many different sizes, there must also be many different size pole mounts.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of one embodiment of an adjustable pole mount of the present disclosure;

FIG. 2 is an assembly diagram of one embodiment of the adjustable pole mount of FIG. 1 and a pole in accordance with the present disclosure; and

FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of an adjustable pole mount of the present disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of one embodiment of an adjustable pole mount 10 of the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is an assembly diagram of one embodiment of the adjustable pole mount 10 of FIG. 1 and a pole 20 in accordance with the present disclosure. The adjustable pole mount 10 is adapted for fixing equipment (not labeled) to various poles with different diameters, such as the pole 20.

In the embodiment, the adjustable pole mount 10 includes a pair of mounting members 12, 14 and a fixing portion 16. The mounting members 12, 14 each include a clamping portion 100, a first connecting portion 102, and a second connecting portion 104. It should be noted that elements with same types are labeled in the same way so as to make the figures clearer.

The clamping portions 100 are structured for clamping to the pole 20. The clamping portions 100 of the pair of mounting members 12, 14 cooperatively clamp the pole 20. In the embodiment, the clamping portions 100 are shaped specifically for generally clamping round poles but may be structured for other shapes.

The first connecting portion 102 is connected to one end of the clamping portion 100. The second connecting portion 104 is connected to another end of the clamping portion 100. In the embodiment, the first connecting portion 102 and the second connecting portion 104 are in a same plane and substantially perpendicular to the fixing portion 16. In the embodiment, the first connecting portion 102 and the second connecting portion 104 each define at least one adjusting hole 1020. Guide bolts 1022 extend through the adjusting holes 1020 of the first connecting portion 102 and the second connecting portion 104 and are coupled to nuts 1024 to tightly fix the pair of mounting members 12, 14 to the pole 20. Distance between the pair of mounting members 12, 14 can be adjusted by adjusting the coupling position of the nuts 1024 on the guide bolts 1022 to accommodate the diameter of the pole 20.

In the embodiment, the adjusting hole 1020 is a sliding slot. The sliding slot extends perpendicular to the pole 20. The guide bolts 1022 can slide in the sliding slots if further adjustment is needed to accommodate the diameter of the pole 20. In another embodiment, the adjusting hole 1020 is a guide hole. The guide bolts 1022 extend through the guide holes so as to fix the clamping portions 100. As such, the guide bolts 1022 cannot slide in the guide holes.

The fixing portion 16 is fixed to at least one of the pair of mounting members 12, 14 and structured for fixing the equipment. In the embodiment, the fixing portion 10 is connected to the second connecting portion 104. Each of the mounting members 12, 14 includes the fixing portion 16 and each fixing portion 16 defines at least one fixing slot 160. The fixing portion 16 is fixed to the equipment by a fixing bolt 162. The fixing bolt 162 can slide in the fixing slot 160 to adjust distance between the pair of fixing portions 16 to accommodate the diameter of the pole 20. In another embodiment, only one of the fixing portions 16 defines at least one fixing slot 160 and the other is attached to the equipment. In this way, only the one of the fixing portions 16, which defines the fixing slot 160, needs to be moved.

FIG. 2 is an assembly diagram of one embodiment of the adjustable pole mount 10 of FIG. 1 and the pole 20 in accordance with the present disclosure. Firstly, the clamping portions 100 of the pair of mounting members 12, 14 collectively clamp the pole 20. Secondly, the guide bolts 1022 extend through the adjusting holes 1020 and are coupled to the nuts 1024 to fix the guide bolts 1022. Thirdly, the fixing bolts 162 extend through the fixing slots 160 of the fixing portions 16 at a suitable position to fix the fixing portions 16 to the equipment. As such, the adjustable pole mount 10 is firmly assembled with the pole 20 and supporting the equipment.

If the pole 20 is of a different diameter, only the coupling positions of the nuts 1024 and the guide bolts 1022, and the positions of the fixing bolts 162 in the fixing slots 160 need to be changed, to accommodate smaller or larger diameter pole. If the adjusting hole 1020 is the sliding slot, the guide bolt 1022 slides in the sliding slot to adjust to different accommodating diameter.

FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of an adjustable pole mount 30 of the present disclosure. In the embodiment, the adjustable pole mount 30 includes the adjustable pole mount 10 of FIG. 1 and a base portion 18. The base portion 18 is connected to the fixing portion 16 and structured to be assembled to the equipment. The fixing bolts 162 extend through the fixing slots 160 of the fixing portions 16 and fix the fixing portions 16 to the base portion 18. As such, the equipment only needs to be assembled to the base portion 18. To adjust accommodating diameter of the pole mount 30, the position of the fixing bolts 162 in the fixing slots 160 can be changed accordingly. Therefore, with the adjustable pole mounts 10, 30 of the present disclosure, one size is suitable for a wide range of pole diameters.

While various embodiments and methods of the present disclosure have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of examples only and not by way of limitation. Thus the breadth and scope of the present disclosure should not be limited by the above-described embodiments, but should be defined only in accordance with the following claims and their equivalents.
