Description
BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

The present disclosure relates to wearable electronic devices and, particularly, to an adjustable strap and an electronic device with the adjustable strap.

2. Description of Related Art

Wearable electronic devices, such as wristwatch, usually include a wrist strap, which includes a number of clasps. A user usually selects one clasp to fasten the wristwatch on his/her wrist according to the size of the wrist. However, the position of each clasp is fixed on the strap and the size of each wrist is different. Therefore, when a fixed clasp on the strap is easy to either tighten or loosen, it can be uncomfortable to wear.

Therefore, what is needed is an electronic device with an adjustable strap to overcome the described shortcoming.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an isometric view of an electronic device with an adjustable wrist strap in accordance with an exemplary embodiment.

FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the electronic device of FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 is an isometric view of an electronic device loosening an adjustable strap of FIG. 1.

FIG. 4 is an isometric view of an electronic device with an adjustable strap in accordance with another exemplary embodiment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring to FIGS. 1-2, an embodiment of an electronic device with an adjustable wrist strap (hereinafter the electronic device) 1 is illustrated. The electronic device 1 may be any wearable electronic device, such as wristwatch, mobile phone, or computer.

The electronic device 1 includes a body 10 and an adjustable strap (hereinafter the strap) 20. Each end of the body 10 includes a pair of blind holes 11. The strap 20 is connected to two shafts 30 and each shaft 30 is connected with one end of the strap 20 and is engaged with the pair of blind holes 11. The strap 20 includes a first strap 21, a second strap 22, a first slider 23, and a second slider 24. The first strap 21 and the second strap 22 have the same configuration. The first slider 23 and the second slider 24 also have the same configuration.

Each slider 23 and 24 includes three substantially parallel rails. For example, the slider 23 includes a rail 230, a rail 233, and a rail 234. Every two adjacent rails form a through hole. For example, a through hole 231 is formed between the rail 230 and the rail 234, and a through hole 232 is formed between the rail 230 and the rail 233. Similar to the slider 23, the slider 24 includes a rail 240, a rail 243, and a rail 244, a through hole 241 is formed between the rail 240 and the rail 244, and a through hole 242 is formed between the rail 240 and the rail 243.

One end of the first strap 21 is directly connected to the end of the body 10. The other end of the first strap 21 passes through the through holes 231 and 242, and then is connected to the rail 243 of the second slider 24. One end of the second strap 22 is directly connected to the other end of the body 10. The other end of the second strap 22 passes through the through holes 241 and 232, and then is connected to the rail 233 of the first slider 23. An overlapped portion of the two straps 23 and 24 is generated between the two sliders 23 and 24.

In the embodiment, the first strap 21 defines an opening 250 in the middle thereof, and the second strap 22 defines an opening 260 in the middle thereof. Furthermore, the first strap 21 defines a tongue 25 extended into the opening 250, and the second strap 22 defines a tongue 26 extended into the opening 260. In another embodiment, for example, such as that shown in FIG. 4, both straps 21′ and 22′ do not define one opening and a tongue.

Referring to FIG. 3, when both the sliders 23 and 24 are moved down under a first external force, both the first strap 21 connected to the slider 24 and the second strap 22 connected to the slider 23 correspondingly move down and the length of the overlapped portion of the two straps 21 and 22 becomes short. Accordingly, the length of the strap 20 becomes long and it is easy to loosen the electronic device 1 from, for example, a wrist of a user.

When one hand of the user pulls up one of the two sliders 23 and 24 under a second external force and then pulls down the adjacent tongue of the slider under a third external force, for example, when the slider 23 is pulled up and the tongue 25 is pulled down. One end of the strap 20 is tightened, in the same way, the other end of the strap 20 is tightened, and accordingly, the strap 20 is tightened on, for example, the wrist of the user.

Referring to FIG. 4, loosening the strap of the electronic device 1 has the same process with the electronic device 1 of FIG. 3. A process of tightening one end of the strap is different with the electronic device 1 of FIG. 3. The process includes two steps that a slider is moved up under a fourth external force and then a strap passed through the slider is pulled down under a fifth external force.

Although the present disclosure has been specifically described on the basis of the exemplary embodiment thereof, the disclosure is not to be construed as being limited thereto. Various changes or modifications may be made to the embodiment without departing from the scope and spirit of the disclosure.
