  • Patent number: 11047509
Abstract: A hang-off insert for hanging-off a flexible elongate subsea element from a surface vessel has a circular loop that includes circumferentially-spaced support segments. Collectively, the segments define a substantially planar support face of the insert and have respective radially inner faces that define an inner radius of the loop. The radially inner faces of the support segments can be positioned at various radial positions to determine the inner radius of the loop and hence to adapt the circumference of the loop to suit different diameters of elongate subsea elements. With the hang-off insert supported by a hang-off structure of the vessel, a laterally-protruding hang-off feature of the elongate subsea element extending through the loop may be rested on the support face to transfer suspended weight loads to the hang-off structure.

Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device may include a sensing component positioned in an enclosure. The sensing component can determine ambient air pressure. In order for the sensing component to access ambient air, the electronic device includes a through hole in the enclosure. The through hole allows communication from the ambient air to the sensing component. In some instances, liquid becomes lodges in the through hole and reduces or inhibits the ability of the sensing component to determine the ambient air pressure. In order to expel the liquid from the through hole, the electronic device may include an air accumulation module designed to receive air from the internal volume, causing an increased air pressure within the air accumulation module. In some implementations, the case may feature a display window that, in combination with materials of the biometric monitoring device, may mask a display of the biometric monitoring device from view when the display is off and may allow the display to be seen when the display is displaying content.

Abstract: A connecting device includes two complementary coupling members (3, 4) secured respectively to the connecting ends of a wrist band (2a, 2b) and of the component to which it is attached. The coupling members (3a, 3b) are oriented transversely to the longitudinal direction of the wrist band (2a, 2b). One (3) of the coupling members is movable laterally between two end positions, a first position in which it is engaged with the other (4) of said coupling members, and a second position in which it is dissociated from said other coupling member (4). An elastic return force (5) tends to keep said coupling member (3) movable laterally between two end positions in said first position.

Abstract: Watchmakers have maintained a tidy, fiddling, monopoly on changing watch straps for a century even as customers have increasingly sought and asked for more readily-replaceable options, to let their expensive centerpiece display (whether mechanical or electronic) to be attached by fashion-responsive, inexpensive straps. This invention is of a strap for a variety of displays or equipment worn on the user's wrist, limb, or body that is simpler to manufacture, sturdier, easy to use, and yet readily replaceable without any tool. This invention enables the strap itself to become a separable element for differing needs including those suitable for changing seasons, special events or situations, purely of fashion, or simply for expressing personal taste, feeling, preference, or opinion.
