COOLING DEVICE FOR COOLING LIGHT GUIDE PLATE

A cooling device for cooling a plurality of light guide plates includes a plurality of positioning members stacked together, a support frame supporting the plurality of positioning members, and a cooling fan positioned in the support frame. Each positioning member includes a bottom plate and a side frame extending from an edge of the bottom plate. The bottom plate and the side frame cooperatively define a receiving groove for receiving the light guide plate. A plurality of support portions are formed on the bottom plate for supporting the light guide plate, and the bottom plate defines a plurality of penetrating holes around the support portions. The cooling device cools all the light guide plates evenly and quickly.

BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

The present disclosure generally relates to cooling devices, and particularly to a device for cooling a plurality of light guide plates.

2. Description of the Related Art

A light guide plate may be at a high temperature after being formed by injection molding, and thus needs to be cooled. Current cooling method of the light guide plate is to allow the light guide plate(s) to cool naturally in the air. However, when a large number of light guide plates are cooled at the same time, the light guide plates may need to be arranged on a platform and separated from each other. During the cooling processes, the light guide plates may occupy a large space, and heat dissipation may be slow. As a result, a cooling time of the light guide plates may be long.

Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring to FIG. 1, an embodiment of a cooling device 100 for cooling a plurality of light guide plates 200 includes a plurality of positioning members 10, a support frame 20, and a cooling fan 30.

Referring to FIGS. 2 through 4, in an illustrated embodiment, the plurality of positioning members 10 are rectangular. Each of the plurality of positioning members 10 includes a bottom plate 11 and a side frame 12 extending from an edge of the bottom plate 11. The bottom plate 11 and the side frame 12 cooperatively define a receiving groove 13. A plurality of support portions 15 extend substantially perpendicularly from the bottom plate 11, and are configured for supporting the plurality of light guide plates 200. A depth of the receiving groove 13 is larger than a total height of all of the plurality if support portions 15 and the plurality of light guide plates 200. The bottom plate 11 further defines a plurality of rectangular penetrating holes 14 arranged in a matrix. The plurality of support portions 15 are arranged between the plurality of penetrating holes 14.

The side frame 12 includes a top surface 12a substantially parallel to the bottom plate 11, and a bottom surface 12b opposite to the top surface 12a. Two restricting protrusions 121 opposite to each other are formed on the top surface. The bottom surface 12b defines two restricting grooves 122 opposite to each other. The two restricting protrusions 121 of one of the plurality of positioning members 10 can engage the two restricting grooves 122 of another one of the plurality of positioning members 10. In an alternative embodiment, the plurality of positioning members 10 may be other shapes, such as circular. The plurality of positioning members 10 may have more than the two restricting protrusions 121 and more than the two restricting grooves 122.

In the illustrated embodiment, each of the plurality of positioning members 10 forms four support portions 15 parallel to each other, and each pair of support portions 15 supports one of the plurality of light guide plates 200. That is, each of the plurality of positioning members 10 can receive two of the plurality of light guide plates 200. An area of the bottom plate 11 is larger than an area of the two light guide plates 200 together, such that air flow can pass through each of the plurality of positioning members 10. In an alternative embodiment, each of the plurality of positioning members 10 may have one or more support portions 15.

The support frame 20 includes two support arms 21, and each of the two support arms 21 has a top surface 210. The top surface 210 defines a positioning groove 211. Each of the plurality of positioning members 10 is received in the positioning groove 211 of the two support arms 21.

In assembly of the cooling device 100, the cooling fan 30 is positioned between the two support arms 21, and the plurality of positioning members 10 are stacked on the support frame 20, with the two restricting protrusions 121 engaged into the adjacent restricting grooves 122. In use, the cooling fan 30 is turned on, the air flow passes through the plurality of penetrating holes 14 of each of the plurality of positioning members 10 to cool the plurality of light guide plates 200 received in the plurality of positioning members 10. Therefore, the cooling device 100 can cool all the individual light guide plates of the plurality of light guide plates 200 at the same time, and occupy a far smaller space.

Claims

1. A cooling device for cooling a plurality of light guide plates, comprising:

a plurality of positioning members stacked together;
a support frame supporting the plurality of positioning members; and
a cooling fan positioned in the support frame;
wherein each of the plurality of positioning members comprises a bottom plate and a side frame extending from an edge of the bottom plate; the bottom plate and the side frame cooperatively define a receiving groove for receiving each of the plurality of light guide plates; at least one support portion is formed on the bottom plate for supporting the plurality of light guide plates, and the bottom plate defines a plurality of penetrating holes around the at least one support portion.

2. The cooling device of claim 1, wherein the plurality of penetrating holes are arranged in a matrix.

3. The cooling device of claim 1, wherein a depth of the receiving groove is larger than a total height of the at least one support portion and the plurality of light guide plates are supported on the at least one support portion.

4. The cooling device of claim 1, wherein the support frame comprises two support arms, and each of the two support arms has a top surface; the top surface defines a positioning groove, and the plurality of positioning members are received in the positioning groove of each of the two support arms.

5. The cooling device of claim 4, wherein the cooling fan are positioned between the two support arms.

6. The cooling device of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of positioning members forms two restricting protrusions on a top surface, and defines two restricting grooves in a bottom surface opposite to the top surface.

7. The cooling device of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of positioning members forms four support portions parallel to each other, the four support portions are configured to support the plurality of light guide plates, and each pair of the four support portions are configured to support one of the plurality of light guide plates.

8. The cooling device of claim 7, wherein an area of the bottom plate is larger than a sum area of two of the plurality of light guide plates.

9. A cooling device for cooling a plurality of light guide plates, comprising:

a plurality of positioning members stacked together;
a support frame supporting the plurality of positioning members; and
a cooling fan positioned in the support frame;
wherein each of the plurality of positioning members defines a receiving groove; at least one support portion is formed in the receiving groove for supporting the plurality of light guide plates, and each of the plurality of positioning members defines a plurality of penetrating holes for air flowing through the plurality of positioning members.

10. The cooling device of claim 9, wherein the plurality of penetrating holes are arranged in a matrix.

11. The cooling device of claim 9, wherein a depth of the receiving groove is larger than a total height of the at least one support portion and the plurality of light guide plates are supported on the at least one support portion.

12. The cooling device of claim 9, wherein the support frame comprises two support arms, and each of the two support arms has a top surface; the top surface defines a positioning groove, and the plurality of positioning members are received in the positioning groove of each of the two support arms.

13. The cooling device of claim 12, wherein the cooling fan are positioned between the support arms.

14. The cooling device of claim 9, wherein each of the plurality of positioning members forms two restricting protrusions on a top surface, and defines two restricting grooves in a bottom surface opposite to the top surface.

15. The cooling device of claim 9, wherein each of the plurality of positioning members forms four support portions parallel to each other, the four support portions are configured to support the plurality of light guide plates, and each pair of the four support portions are configured to support one of the plurality of light guide plates.
