CYLINDRICAL CLOTHES PROTECTOR ROLL-UP PACKING SYSTEM

The present invention is directed to a Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System that will be made as an integral part of a new garment bag or an alternate embodiment of the device will be a flexible insert or Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System which can be placed into an existing folding garment bag where the bag will be rolled instead of folded, as a stand-alone clothing wrinkle prevention product. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder flexible inserts may be constructed of one piece polymer with and without grooves, individual slats held together by various means, and interlocking molded segments, and can be a stand-alone item carried or placed within any conventional garment bag, soft luggage, hard-sided luggage, or duffel bag.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This application is in the field of items designed for the purpose of transporting articles while traveling where roll packing is a means of preventing undesired wrinkling. In particular, the present invention provides the incorporation within a simple garment bag of a flat device that when rolled becomes a rigid cylinder, upon which the clothes roll and are protected from wrinkles, even within soft luggage such as duffel bags or back packs. The cylinder can be integral to a garment bag, most commonly at the distal portion of the bag, or a free cylinder upon which the clothing is rolled.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

It has long been known that roll packing clothing within luggage prevents the undesirable wrinkling of the clothing, but items such as suits, dress shirts and long dresses are not easily packed in this fashion. Items like these are normally packed in separate soft folding garment bags or the folding garment section of standard rigid luggage. Folding garment bag luggage with no rigid support allow creasing of the clothes, particularly on airline flights as they are contorted and placed, into overhead bins instead of hanging. The garment section of standard luggage also causes creasing of clothes and of course necessitates the use of a rigid suitcase. There is limited bin space for suitcases large enough to have a satisfactory garment section causing stress for the traveler and the inconvenience of a late-checked bag. To keep this type of clothing from wrinkling they are better packed over some form of a rigid support that avoids folding and wrinkling of the garments.

Most people who travel frequently and need pressed clothes use rigid luggage with a garment section or an independent separate standard garment bag piece of luggage. As noted, both of these types of luggage have drawbacks particularly with airline travel. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System provides an excellent solution to the wrinkling of clothes while allowing the use of soft luggage which is easier to place into limited bin space. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System most commonly will be made as an integral part of a thin clothing bag that is rolled up and placed into luggage. As the garments are protected by the system, there is no reliance on a rigid shell for the luggage and thus the clothes are equally protected in a soft bag, duffel, or backpack as in a suitcase or standard folding garment bag.

There are many articles such as maps, building plans, photographs and land scape drawings that need to be packed along with garments and kept wrinkle free. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder can additionally have the items rolled within it and held by the means of a belt or hook-loop fastening material and placed within conventional luggage or in a simple duffel bag. The flexible portion of these embodiments can be manufactured in several manners and still become rigid when in a rolled configuration and will be discussed within this application.

Numerous innovations of luggage have been provided in the prior art that are described as follows. Even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, they differ from the present design as hereinafter contrasted. The following is a summary of those prior art patents most relevant to this application at hand, as well as a description outlining the difference between the features of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System and the prior art.

U.S. Pat. No. 1,666,536 of Kvare discloses a clothes carrier that includes a cylindrical or partly cylindrical surface about which a garment is wrapped. The carrier is configured to provide a clothes carrying device for which garments, such as dresses, can be packed and carried without creasing or mussing. The clothes carrying device may include a casing having the internal cylinder with a smooth exterior surface around which the garment is wrapped. Attachments for holding the garment on the carrier and for properly supporting the carrier in the casing may also be included.

This patent describes a clothes carrier that includes a cylindrical or partly cylindrical surface about which a garment is wrapped but does not include a flexible insert that can be added to a conventional garment bag along with the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder holding a variety of items including garments that need to be kept wrinkle free and can be carried by hand, inserted into a conventional suitcase or duffel bag.

U.S. Pat. No. 2,661,570 of Corley discloses a roll up map case which includes a plurality of slats connected to each other. The unrolled slats are in a flat formation with a parallel orientation. When rolled into a cylindrical formation, the slats allow a map to be rolled within the slats without wrinkling or bending the map.

U.S. Pat. No. 2,723,734 of Bellamy discloses a luggage carrier having a cylindrical shape. The disclosed luggage carrier includes a hollow cylinder upon which wearing apparel, such as a suit of clothing, may be neatly wrapped and retained on the cylinder. The hollow interior of the cylinder is configured to receive other items, such as shirts, neckties, and socks.

U.S. Pat. No. 3,621,991 of Richter discloses a package for garments that is formed with two sheets of pliant material that are rolled into a tube so as to fit within a sleeve. In order to assemble the package, each of the sheets includes a grasping or gripping member that is substantially in the same plane as that of the sheet to which it is attached. The clothing is positioned between the two sheets of material and is easily rolled into a tubular form.

This patent describes a package for garments that is formed with two sheets of pliant material that are rolled into a tube so as to fit within a sleeve but does not include a flexible insert that can be added to a conventional garment bag along with the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder holding a variety of items including garments that need to be kept wrinkle free and can be carried by hand, inserted into a conventional suitcase or duffel bag.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,255,766 of Deconinck discloses a travelling or packing bag that enables personal belongings to be packed and carried inside a case that includes a rigid inner tray having a round or curved support edge and a partially solid packing wall. The tray is pivotable between a horizontal position and a vertical position. Clothes may be draped over the curved support edge before positioning the tray in shells of the case.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,624,026 of Chernoff discloses a garment holding device for use with various types of luggage which includes a substantially cylindrical hollow tube about which suits and other garments can be wrapped. A fabric cover for holding garments securely about the outside surface of the tube may be provided. Because the garments are rolled instead of folded, wrinkling of the garments is reduced. The hollow center of the cylinder is utilized to carry bulky and awkward shaped objects such as shoes and shaving or makeup kits. The tube, when holding a garment wrapped around its outer surface, can be carried inside any luggage of appropriate size.

U.S. Pat. No. 6,796,425 of Ahoff discloses a garment holder made up of a cylindrical body of a suitable length and diameter that a garment can be rolled around same without becoming unacceptably wrinkled. The holder includes garment retaining straps to hold the garment securely in the rolled position.

U.S. Pat. No. 7,416,066 of Chernoff discloses a wheeled suitcase that includes a detachable garment bag. The garment bag is adapted to wrap around outside panels of the suitcase and is held snugly against the suitcase by a fastener system including connectively interlocking clips. Corners of the suitcase are rounded to facilitate gentle wrapping such that clothing within the garment bag is not subject to folding or wrinkling. The suitcase is slightly smaller than the size limited by airline regulations for carry-on luggage. Thus, when wrapped with the unique garment bag, the combined suitcase and garment bag will not exceed regulations.

This patent describes a wheeled suitcase that includes a detachable garment bag but does not include a flexible insert that can be added to a conventional garment bag along with the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder holding a variety of items including garments that need to be kept wrinkle free and can be carried by hand, inserted into a conventional suitcase, duffel bag, or backpack.

None of these previous efforts, however, provides the benefits attendant with the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System. The present design achieves its intended purposes, objectives and advantages over the prior art devices through a new, useful and unobvious combination of method steps and component elements, with the use of a minimum number of functioning parts, at a reasonable cost to manufacture, and by employing readily available materials.

In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System in detail it is to be understood that the design is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangement, of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. In addition, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present design. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent construction insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present application

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The principal advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is the ability to transport clothes in a superior wrinkle-prevention manner within soft luggage such as duffel bags or backpacks. This is accomplished by having the Roll-up mechanism an integral part of a thin clothing/garment bag that when rolled is placed into any type of luggage, duffel bag, or backpack.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is the capability of keeping clothing items wrinkle free when they need to be transported.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is that it can be manufactured as an integral part of a conventional garment bag.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is that an alternate embodiment will consist of just the stand-alone flexible portion with the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder that can be inserted into any garment bag, and thereby used as a stand-alone clothing wrinkle prevention product.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical. Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is that it will be used for keeping clothing wrinkle free when people are traveling, without the need for a rigid suitcase.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder can be used for transporting a wide variety of items other than clothing.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is that the flexible portion can be made from individual slats held within a fabric casing.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is that the flexible portion can be constructed of a one piece polymer with a plurality of longitudinal V grooves to give the desired roll bending configuration.

Another advantage of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is that the flexible portion can be constructed of individual longitudinal molded segments that when interconnected can vary the length of the flexible portion.

These and further advantages of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector device can be summarized as follows: The idea is the incorporation within a simple garment bag of a flat device that when rolled becomes a rigid cylinder, upon which the clothes roll and are protected from wrinkles, even within soft luggage such as duffel bags or back packs.

Several important points regarding the present Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System invention include:

    • 1. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector device is designed to allow travel or other use with soft luggage in a single carry-on bag such as a duffel bag.
    • 2. There is limited overhead baggage space for rigid suitcases but commonly room for a soft duffel bag. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector invention protects clothes nicely within a soft duffel bag allowing a passenger to find luggage space and avoid checking the bag at the last minute.
    • 3. It is an alternative to the common rigid roller bag which has a clothing section for the protection of shirts, suits and dresses.
    • 4. It is an alternative to the classic garment bag which is difficult to carry and counts as a piece of luggage when brought on board an aircraft.
    • 5. For non-aircraft use, such as going to the gym before work, the Cylindrical Clothes Protector invention allows work clothes to be transported in a routine duffel/gym bag. It is less conspicuous and of more appeal to a young working person than rolling around a suitcase or carrying a set of clothes on a hanger.
    • 6. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector device is most likely to be used with or as part of a soft, thin suit-bag, not a traditional garment bag.
    • 7. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector device is most likely to be deployed at the bottom or distal segment of the bag, eliminating trouble with the hangers and not adding any extra dimension to the bag (as seen in the accompanying drawing figures).

Current rigid luggage and dedicated suit bags allow for travel with dress garments, providing protection from multiple wrinkles but do still fold the garments and create creases. In addition, there is often difficulty fitting this current luggage into overhead bins in aircraft, making for stressful loading of the plane for many passengers. The size and firm shape of this type of luggage often leaves bin space that can only be filled with softer items such as duffel bags that can fit into irregular, leftover spaces. Unfortunately, if one needs presentable clothes on arrival, a duffel bag, back pack, or similar soft bag affords no protection of folded clothes, hence the preponderance of rigid luggage.

These together with other advantages of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System along with the various features of novelty, which characterize the design, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure. In this respect, before explaining at least one of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System embodiments detail, it is to be understood that the design is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the composition set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System can be made as an integral part of a new garment bag or an alternate embodiment of the device will be a flexible insert which can be placed into any garment bag where the bag will be rolled instead of folded. The flexible insert or Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder can be used for transporting a wide variety of other items other than clothing such as maps, building plans, photographs and land scape drawings, using a wraparound belt or hook-loop strap as a retainer.

The flexible portion can be made from individual slats held within a fabric casing, individual slats with a fabric hinge material attached or can be constructed of a one piece polymer with a plurality of longitudinal V grooves to give the desired roll bending configuration. In addition the flexible portion can be constructed of individual longitudinal molded segments that when interconnected resemble a continuous set of piano hinges. The integrity of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System is the individual longitudinal elements that will bend and roll into an over lapping cylindrical configuration giving a rigid support to the articles being held.

The solution to the clothes becoming wrinkled while traveling problem lies in the fact that the present Cylindrical Clothes Protector cylindrical device, carried within the owner's soft baggage, affords excellent clothing protection while allowing more and easier storage options on an aircraft.

The basic form of this device includes two basic forms of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector device which allow for maximum flexibility:

1. The basic form of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector cylindrical device is to have a rigid cylinder formed by multiple slats (or other material as outlined in this application) as part of a simple garment or suit bag. These slats are flat when a bag is hanging then form a rigid cylinder as the bag is rolled. The clothes are thus protected over a rigid cylinder and can be placed into soft luggage. The slats or other material is best located in the distal aspect of the suit bag avoiding difficulty with the shapes of the clothes and hangers; and

2. A second form of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector invention is to simply have the slat device as a free-standing item upon which anything, including clothes can be rolled in order to be protected.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly the more important features of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are other additional features of the design that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated in and form a part of this specification, illustrate embodiments of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System and together with the description, serve to explain the principles of this application.

For a fuller understanding of the nature and advantages of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System, reference should be had to the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings which are incorporated in and form a part of this specification, illustrate embodiments of the design and together with the description, serve to explain the principles of this application.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring now to the drawings, wherein similar parts of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 are identified by like reference numerals, there is seen in FIG. 1 the prior art of the conventional garment bag 12 with FIG. 2 depicting the prior art of the conventional garment bag 12 broken away illustrating an article of clothing 14.

FIG. 3 depicts the primary embodiment of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 being a modified garment bag 16 with flexible insert 18 incorporated into the bag. The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 flexible insert 18 incorporated into the bag need not be of any particular length as the length can be customized for varying usage as required by the type of clothes being transported. Here, the flexible insert 18 incorporated into the bag is shown at full length, but it is anticipated that the resulting protective cylinder, once formed, does not need to be the full length of the clothes bag for all applications.

FIG. 4 depicts an alternate embodiment of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 being a Roll-up Holder 20 incorporating the internal flexible insert 18 enclosed in a finished fabric housing 24 with a strip of hook-loop retaining material 26 at the top and a mating hook-loop retaining material 28 at the bottom. The retaining materials 26 and 28 will allow the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder 20 to be rolled in different overlapping diameters and will be secured tightly.

FIG. 5 depicts the preferred embodiment of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 with the garment bag 16 rolled into a cylindrical shape with the flexible insert 18 and the garments 30 held tightly. The most important aspect of this preferred embodiment is to have the present invention integral to a thin clothes/garment bag that is placed into soft luggage. In this regard, the clothes/garment bag does not have to be of substantial, bulky material as is a regular, current, standard, familiar garment bag. It could be made of thin, silky material such as the department store bags that a newly purchased suit would come in. Moreover, it does not have to be a standalone piece of luggage. It is designed to go into soft or rigid luggage. If someone wants to make a thick, regular, weather resistant traditional standalone garment bag with this invention incorporated, that is fine but the main idea and practicality of this invention is the ability to have a superior wrinkle prevention system that can be used in any type of luggage, including soft luggage.

FIG. 6 depicts a cross section of the flexible insert 18A constructed from individual slats 32 held within a fabric casing 34.

FIG. 7 depicts a cross section of the flexible insert 18B constructed from individual slats 36 held together with strips of fabric hinge material 37 adhered to the edges.

FIG. 8A depicts a cross section of the flexible insert 18C constructed of a one piece polymer 38 with a plurality of longitudinal V grooves 40 to give the desired roll bending configuration.

FIG. 8B depicts a cross section of the flexible insert 18D constructed of a one piece adjustable length flexible roll-able planar polymer member 22 having a smooth configuration without a plurality of longitudinal V grooves, yet because of the material used to construct flexible insert 18D it still gives the desired roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when packed and rolled.

FIG. 9 depicts a plan view of one of the individual longitudinal molded segments 42 that when interconnected resemble a continuous piano hinge to create yet another embodiment of the adjustable length flexible insert. The molded segment 42 consists of insert sections 44 the web section 46 and mating tubular sections 48.

FIG. 10 depicts an end view of one of the individual longitudinal molded segments 42 that when interconnected resemble a continuous piano hinge illustrating the insert sections 44, the web section 46, the tubular section 48 with the central orifice 50 having a longitudinal slot 52 to facilitate the interlocking of each of the molded segments 42.

FIG. 11 depicts an edge view of a number of the longitudinal molded segments 42 interconnected forming an extendable portion of the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10. Using multiple molded segments 42, adjustments in the length of the assembled flexible insert can be easily and readily made.

FIG. 12 depicts a perspective view of a duffel bag 54 containing a Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder 20 broken away illustrating a clothing 14 and the hook-loop retaining straps 26 and 28. Other wearing apparel such as shoes 56 can be carried within the Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Holder 20.

The Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 shown in the drawings and described in detail herein disclose arrangements of elements of particular construction and configuration for illustrating preferred embodiments of structure and method of operation of the present application. It is to be understood, however, that elements of different construction and configuration and other arrangements thereof, other than those illustrated and described may be employed for providing a Cylindrical Clothes Protector Roll-up Packing System 10 in accordance with the spirit of this disclosure, and such changes, alternations and modifications as would occur to those skilled in the art are considered to be within the scope of this design as broadly defined in the appended claims.

Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientists, engineers and practitioners in the art who are not familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application. The abstract is neither intended to define the invention of the application, which is measured by the claims, nor is it intended to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any way.

Claims

1. A cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system comprising an adjustable length flexible roll-able planar insert which lies flat when not in use and rolls into a firm cylinder when packing clothes, for the purpose of preventing wrinkling of the clothes during transport

whereby said adjustable length flexible roll-able planar insert which lies flat when not in use and rolls into a firm cylinder when packing clothes can be used in conjunction with and packed into a garment bag, soft luggage or hard sided luggage.

2. The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed in the form of a one piece polymer having a smooth surface, resulting in a product having the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

3. The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed in the form of individual rigid slats held horizontally in connection, with each other within a fabric casing, resulting in a product having the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

4. The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed in the form of individual rigid slats horizontally held together with strips of fabric hinge material adhered to the edges of each of said rigid slats, resulting in a product having the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

5. The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 4, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert includes individual slats having a beveled edges where each slat is held together by strips of fabric hinge material.

The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed of a one piece polymer having a plurality of longitudinal V-shaped grooves therein, to give the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable length flexible insert is constructed of individual longitudinal molded segments that interconnect with each other to give the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 7, wherein said of individual longitudinal molded segments that interconnect with each other are interlocking and can be adjusted to any length by interconnecting any number of said interlocking individual longitudinal molded segments as required.

9. The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable length flexible insert is free-standing and can be used with any garment, clothes and item of apparel.

10. The cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 1, wherein said adjustable length flexible insert can be used in conjunction with any conventional garment bag, duffel bag, soft luggage unit, and hard sided luggage unit.

11. A method for making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system, comprising the steps of:

providing an adjustable length flexible roll-able planar insert which lies flat when not in use and rolls into a firm cylinder when packing clothes, for the purpose of preventing wrinkling of the clothes during transport
whereby said adjustable length flexible roll-able planar insert which lies flat when not in use and rolls into a firm cylinder when packing clothes can be used in conjunction with and packed into a garment bag, soft luggage or hard sided luggage.

12. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed in the form of a one piece polymer having a smooth surface, resulting in a product having the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

13. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed in the form of individual rigid slats held horizontally in connection with each other within a fabric casing, resulting in a product having the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from, wrinkling when rolled and packed.

14. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed in the form of individual rigid slats horizontally held together with strips of fabric hinge material adhered to the edges of each of said rigid slats, resulting in a product having the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

15. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 14, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert includes individual slats having a beveled edges where each slat is held together by strips of fabric hinge material.

16. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable flexible length insert is constructed of a one piece polymer having a plurality of longitudinal V-shaped grooves therein, to give the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

17. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable length flexible insert is constructed of individual longitudinal molded segments that interconnect with each other to give the roll bending configuration required to prevent clothes from wrinkling when rolled and packed.

18. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 17, wherein said of individual longitudinal molded segments that interconnect with each other are interlocking and can be adjusted to any length by interconnecting any number of said interlocking individual longitudinal molded segments as required.

19. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable length flexible insert is free-standing and can be used with any garment, clothes and item of apparel.

20. The method of making a cylindrical clothes protector roll-up packing system according to claim 11, wherein said adjustable length flexible insert can be used in conjunction with any conventional garment bag, duffel bag, soft luggage unit, and hard sided luggage unit.
