Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a toothbrush for periodontal care, particularly to a toothbrush for periodontal care wherein the size of the head of the toothbrush is adapted to the size of teeth, so that horizontal brushing and straight picking are easily achieved.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Toothbrushes are the most used tool for teeth cleaning, mainly to clean teeth surface and food debris between the teeth.

In general the width and thickness of the front grip is smaller than those of the head, in order to avoid grip jamming in teeth or other parts. The most used toothbrush can be roughly divided into the I-shaped and T-shaped toothbrush.

As shown in FIG. 5, an I-shaped toothbrush 100a comprises: a grip la, a head 2a and many bristles 3a, wherein a user holds the grip to clean teeth with bristles. Thereby teeth surface and teeth gaps are cleaned.

The length of the head 2a of an I-shaped toothbrush can step cross about three teeth, therefore teeth surface of a broad area can be cleaned by horizontal brushing. However, it leads the user subconsciously to brush horizontal strongly, and causes brushing consumption of teeth and gingival recession.

Since the head 2a of the I-shaped toothbrush is longer, only the front bristles are used for straight picking teeth, however this way is not efficient for cleaning. As shown in FIG. 6, in case of irregular dentition, if an I-shaped toothbrush is used, teeth tilted inward are blocked by the teeth tilted outward, thus bristles are jammed in teeth tilted outward, and the teeth tilted inward are difficult to clean. Even if the bristles are pliable, the teeth tilted inward can still be brushed by scrubbing, it can cause injuring teeth tilted outward, and bad cleaning on teeth gaps. Besides, by cleaning the rear teeth, one can hardly change gesture or change his hand to clean teeth due to limited space. Thus, when an I-shaped toothbrush is used, it is difficult to clean rear teeth of irregular dentition.

In comparison to an I-shaped toothbrush the difference of a T-shaped toothbrush (not shown) is because that its head has a wider and shorter shape, therefore it is convenient for straight picking. However, it is only applied to clean front teeth. For rear teeth it does not work smoothly, jamming often happens, even the gum can be bruised due to limited space in the rear teeth area.

In view of these disadvantages the inventor tried the continuous testing and improvement and developed the present invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the present invention is to provide a toothbrush for periodontal care, wherein easy horizontal brushing and straight picking are achieved.

For achieving above object, the toothbrush for periodontal care comprises: a grip for holding; a head, set on the front of the grip, extending forward from the front of the grip for a predetermined length and having a predetermined width, wherein the bottom surface of the head has many bristles; it is characterized in that: the length of the head is slightly shorter than the total length of any two adjacent teeth, the predetermined width almost equals the width of the lower first molar, thereby easy horizontal brushing and straight picking are achieved.

Preferably, the front part of the grip is Y-shaped, gradually narrowing from the front to the rear, for easy cleaning the rear teeth.

Preferably, the predetermined length of the head is 0.6 to 0.8 cm, for achieving easy straight picking.

Preferably, the predetermined width of the head is 1.2 to 1.4 cm, for achieving easy horizontal brushing.

Other aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing, illustrating by way of example the principles of the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 2 is a schematic view of the present invention in comparison with teeth.

FIG. 3 is a schematic view of the present invention by cleaning irregular teeth.

FIG. 4 is another schematic view of the present invention by cleaning irregular teeth.

FIG. 5 is a schematic view of a prior art by cleaning irregular teeth.

FIG. 6 is another schematic view of a prior art by cleaning irregular teeth.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

As shown in FIG. 1, a toothbrush 100 for periodontal care of the present invention comprises: a grip 1, for hand holding; a head 2, set on the front of the grip 1, extending from the front of the grip 1 for a predetermined length and having a predetermined width, wherein the bottom surface of the head 2 has many bristles 3; it is characterized in that: the length of the head 2 is slightly shorter than the total length of any two adjacent teeth, and the predetermined width almost equals the width of the lower first molar, thereby easy horizontal brushing and straight picking are achieved.

The grip 1 for hand holding is made of materials like, for example, plastic, there are several slip projections (not shown) for hand holding, wherein the front part of the grip 1 is Y-shaped, gradually narrowing from the front to the rear, thereby jamming of the grip 1 in teeth or other parts is avoided, thus it is convenient to clean the rear teeth area.

The head 2 set on the front of the grip 1, extending from the front of the grip 1 for a predetermined length and having a predetermined width, wherein the bottom surface of the head 2 has many bristles 3 for cleaning teeth surface and teeth gaps, when one holds the grip 1; the head 2 is rectangular, circle or other shape. Hereby a square head was taken as an example for illustration.

As shown in FIG. 2, the predetermined length of the head 2 is slightly shorter than the total length of any two adjacent teeth, preferably 0.6 to 0.8 cm. Thereby it is convenient for straight picking by cleaning teeth gaps.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, by cleaning irregular teeth, no disturbance of bristles happens (as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6), thereby it is convenient for straight picking.

Besides, when toothbrush is stretched into rear teeth area, it is not necessary to change hand for holding grip 1, as result straight picking for cleaning teeth gaps can be well performed. Therefore, not only front but also rear teeth area are effectively cleaned, thereby dental diseases are avoided.

The predetermined length of the head 2 almost equals the width of the lower first molar, preferably 1.2 to 1.4 cm, thereby gingival margin and teeth surface are thoroughly cleaned by horizontal brushing. Thus the problems of jamming or bruising are solved.
