TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a cosmetic container. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cosmetic container, which can store cosmetics as well as a rod-shaped applicator having a relatively long length.

BACKGROUND ART

Generally, solid cosmetics, such as foundation, which are widely used, are utilized to realize the effects of protecting the skin, enhancing the appearance, and reducing wrinkles. Here, a user may use a method of getting cosmetics on an applicator such as a puff or a brush and then applying the cosmetics to the skin.

In the case of the puff, it may be sold while being stored in a cosmetic container. The puff may be usually accommodated in a lid of the cosmetic container. Therefore, in order to use the cosmetics, a user opens the lid to take the puff out from the cosmetic container. Then, the user makes the puff come into contact with the cosmetics with the user's finger being fitted into an elastic strap provided on the puff to apply a predetermined amount of cosmetics to the puff.

On the other hand, the brush includes a plurality of bristles. Here, the bristles may be animal hair or artificial fiber made of synthetic resin or the like. The brush is provided with a handle. After the user evenly applies the cosmetics to the bristles while holding the handle, the bristles come into contact with the skin to transfer the cosmetics to the skin.

The puff and the brush have different materials and shapes. Particularly, a compact type cosmetic container has a circular shape, and is usually formed such that a length from left to right is equal/similar to a length from front to back when seen from a plan view. Due to a limited internal space, the compact type cosmetic container holds the puff as well as the cosmetics.

Meanwhile, as compared to a method of applying makeup while dabbing at a desired region with the puff for applying high-viscosity foundation or the like, a method of applying makeup using the brush may make it easier to express makeup. For example, since the makeup method using the puff may cause cosmetics to be agglomerated depending on the viscosity of the cosmetics, the method of brushing and spreading the cosmetics may be effective. However, a conventional compact type cosmetic container is problematic in that the long rod-shaped brush is not accommodated in the cosmetic container and a user should separately carry the brush due to the shape of the cosmetic container, thus causing inconvenience to a user, and having the risk of a loss.

DISCLOSURE Technical Problem

The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems and difficulties and relates to a cosmetic container, which accommodates cosmetics as well as a rod-shaped applicator used for a makeup method by brushing, for example for applying high-viscosity foundation, thus making it easy to use the applicator, and provides a shape differentiated from an existing shape, thus expanding a user's choice.

Technical Solution

A cosmetic container according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a cosmetic container, including a main body having a depression to accommodate contents therein; a cover unit configured to cover the depression; and an applicator received in the main body, wherein the applicator has a rod shape, and the main body has a shape where its width from left to right is long and its width from front to back is short to correspond to the shape of the applicator.

Each of the cover unit and the depression may have a shape where its width from left to right that is parallel to a longitudinal direction of the applicator is long.

The applicator may include an brush member configured to transfer the contents to skin; and a handle having on one end thereof the brush member, and being adjustable in length.

The handle may include a first grip member having the brush member; and a second grip member coupled to or separated from the first grip member.

The handle may include a first grip member having the brush member; and a second grip member sliding on the first grip member.

The applicator may be detachably provided on the cover unit.

The applicator may be magnetically coupled to the cover unit.

The applicator may be stored on the cover unit, and the cover unit may include a restraint member to restrain the applicator on a seat surface on which the applicator is seated.

The restraint member may include a rib protruding upwards from the seat surface, opposite ends of the rib being spaced apart from each other so that the applicator is fitted into or removed from the rib.

The cover unit may include a seat surface on which the applicator is seated, the seat surface forming a plane; a lower protrusion extending towards the depression on an opposite side of the seat surface, so as to seal the depression; and an upper protrusion extending upwards from a circumference of the seat surface.

The cosmetic container may further include a lid unit configured to cover the cover unit, wherein the lid unit may be provided to come into contact with the main body when the main body is closed, so that the upper protrusion may be provided inside the lid unit.

The upper protrusion may come into contact with an inside of the lid unit to seal a space between the cover unit and the lid unit.

The cosmetic container may further include a lid unit configured to cover the cover unit, wherein the lid unit may have a dome structure that is curved upwardly from a lower end.

The applicator may include an brush member configured to transfer the contents to skin, and a handle extending from the brush member in an opposite direction, and the handle may have a length from 5 cm to 20 cm.

A reflective surface may be provided on a back of the cover unit or the lid unit.

The applicator may include an brush member configured to transfer the contents to skin; and a handle connected to the brush member, and extending from the brush member in an opposite direction, and the brush member may include a plurality of bodies having different shapes and provided on the handle.

Advantageous Effects

A cosmetic container according to the present invention can store cosmetics as well as a rod-shaped applicator having a length that can be conveniently gripped by a user, so that it is unnecessary to individually store/carry the rod-shaped applicator, and it is possible to prevent the loss of the applicator.

The above and other objects, features, and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. In the present specification, it should be noted that the same reference numerals are used to denote the same components throughout different drawings. In the following description, the detailed description of known functions and configurations that may unnecessarily obscure the subject matter of the present invention will be omitted.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In addition, although the embodiment is divided into a first embodiment and a second embodiment for convenience, the shape of a restraint member and the structure of an applicator may be changed in various ways and thus various modifications and their modifications are possible. Consequently, the number of embodiments may increase. The same configuration having the same function uses the same reference numerals so that overlapping descriptions in the following embodiments will be combined with each other or omitted.

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 7, a cosmetic container 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a main body 110, an applicator 120, a cover unit 130, and a lid unit 140, and is intended to improve a general compact type cosmetic container. Unlike a conventional cosmetic container where a width from left to right and a width from front to back are equal or similar to each other when seen from a plan view, the width from left to right can be increased to store the rod-shaped applicator 120 therein.

To be more specific, the main body 110 is provided with a depression 111 that accommodates contents therein.

Here, the contents may be facial cosmetics for covering a user's facial skin, such as foundation or sun-block, but are not limited thereto. The cosmetics stored in the main body 110 may be formed in various forms, for example, compressed powder such as solid powder or a highly viscous liquid substance, and may be applied to the applicator 120 to be transferred to a user's face.

However, when a user applies makeup in a manner of brushing cosmetics using the rod-shaped applicator 120 that can easily transfer the cosmetics to the user's face, the contents may preferably include a cushion/water span/sun foundation to allow makeup to be efficiently performed.

The depression 111 in which the contents are accommodated may have the structure of a groove that is concavely formed from top to bottom. The top of the depression 111 is opened so that the depression is opened or closed by the cover unit 130. Further, the depression 111 may be partitioned into front and rear spaces or left and right spaces, and contents stored, respectively, in the partitioned spaces may be different from each other in color, viscosity, and function.

In this regard, the depression 111 may be made such that the contents are directly exposed to the outside when the cover unit 130 is opened. However, a discharge plate (not shown) may be provided on the depression 111 to discharge a small amount of contents by a user's operation. Here, a structure for storing the contents may be variously formed, for example, the discharge plate may be used as a palette. Since this is known to those skilled in the art, a detailed description thereof will be omitted herein.

Furthermore, the main body 110 may have a shape in which its width from left to right parallel to a longitudinal direction of the applicator 120 is long, so that the main body 110 may have an elliptical or rectangular cross-section. Such a main body 110 may be different in shape from an existing cosmetic container in which the width from front to back is equal/similar to the width from left to right when seen from the plan view to substantially have a circular shape.

As such, the main body 110 has the shape in which its width from left to right is long. Thus, since the contents may be taken out of the depression 111 using the applicator 120 by sweeping from left to right, it is easy to pick the contents. However, the conventional cosmetic container is shaped such that the width from left to right is substantially equal to the width from front to back and the container is too narrow to move a brush leftwards and rightwards. Thus, the brush should be rolled clockwise/counterclockwise. In this case, a lower surface of the brush to which the contents are applied may be agglomerated by the rolling operation.

The applicator 120 may be a makeup tool that transfers the contents to the user's skin, for example, a brush having an brush member 121 composed of bristles and a handle 122.

Particularly, the applicator 120 of this embodiment has a rod shape, and a portion of a side of the applicator 120 is placed between a user's thumb and index finger, so that a portion adjacent to the brush member 121 of the applicator 120 is held and simultaneously a side of the handle 122 of the applicator 120 is supported, so that a stable use is possible.

That is, in the case of applying makeup to a topical region, for example, a region around the eye, even if the overall shape of the brush is small, cosmetics may be easily applied using the brush because makeup is performed on a small area. However, in the case of applying cosmetics such as foundation or sun cream to the entire skin, it takes a relatively long time to apply cosmetics using the tool such as the brush, and makeup cannot be effectively applied.

Thus, in the applicator 120 of this embodiment, the handle 122 has the length of 5 cm to 20 cm, preferably 7 cm to 9 cm, so that support points at which the applicator 120 is supported by a user's hand are formed at a plurality of areas, so that it is possible to stably grip the applicator 120. In addition, the applicator 120 is supported at a portion adjacent to the brush member 121 that is a front portion of the applicator 120 and a side of the handle 122 that is a central portion or a rear portion of the applicator 120. Thus, in the case of applying the contents to the skin in the brushing manner, the applicator 120 may not be shaken to be stably used.

To be more specific, the applicator 120 may include the brush member 121 and the handle 122. Here, the brush member 121 functions to transfer the contents to the skin, and is formed of bristles. Further, the handle 122 may have on one end thereof the brush member 121, and may have the shape of a rod that extends in a direction opposite to the brush member 121. The material of the handle 122 may include plastics, synthetic resin, and metal materials, and is not limited thereto. However, as will be described later, when the applicator is magnetically connected to the cover unit 130, the applicator may have in a portion thereof a magnet 1223 or may be made of a metal material.

Furthermore, a plurality of application bodies 121 may be provided on one handle 122. For example, the plurality of application bodies 121 may be provided on one end of the handle. Preferably, the application bodies 121 having different shapes may be provided on both ends of the handle 122, so that the effect of using a plurality of brushes is achieved using a single applicator 120.

Further, the applicator 120 may be stored in the upper portion of the depression 111 without the necessity of being stored separately from the cosmetic container 100. For example, the applicator may be stored on the cover unit 130, and may have the magnet 1223 to be attached to the cover unit 130, as described above.

In addition, the applicator 120 is smaller than a length of the cosmetic container 100 extending from left to right, so that the applicator 120 may be stored on the cover unit 130 without an additional operation. Alternatively, the length of the applicator 120 may be equal to or longer than the length of the cosmetic container 100 extending from left to right.

Here, when the length of the applicator 120 is equal to or longer than the length of the cosmetic container 100 extending from left to right, the entire length of the applicator 120 may be adjusted to store the applicator 120.

As one example, referring to FIG. 5, the handle 122 may include a first grip member 1221 provided with the brush member 121, and a second grip member 1222 coupled to or separated from the first grip member 1221, so that the length may be extended by the second grip member 1222 that is detachably attached to a rear portion of the first grip member 1221. Thus, when one desires to store the applicator, the second grip member 1222 may be separated from the first grip member 1221, and then the grip members may be stored side by side on the front and rear portions of the cover unit 130.

Alternatively, although not shown in the drawings, when one desires to store the applicator, the brush member 121 may be fitted into the second grip member 1222 to reduce the entire length of the applicator 120. Further, the brush member 121 is stored in the second grip member 1222 to prevent the brush member 121 from being damaged or to prevent the cosmetics on the brush member 121 from being transferred to the cover unit 130.

As another example, referring to FIG. 7, the length of the handle 122 may be adjusted by sliding it such that the other end is close to or distant from one end of the handle 122. At this time, the second grip member 1222 may be inserted into or pulled out from the first grip member 1221 to adjust the length of the handle 122. Although not shown in the drawings, the second grip member 1222 may be provided with a stopper to limit a distance by which the second grip member 1222 slides from the first grip member 1221.

Such an applicator 120 may be secured to the cover unit 130. For example, either of the applicator 120 or the cover unit 130 is provided with the magnet 1223 (see FIG. 5, the magnet may be provided between the first grip member 1221 and the second grip member 1222), while the remaining one is provided with a metal material to make a magnetic connection.

Although FIG. 5 shows that the magnet 1223 is provided on the side of the applicator 120, the magnet 1223 may be provided on a contact surface between the applicator 120 and the cover unit 130. The position of the magnet is not limited. Further, coupling due to magnetism may be performed on a seat surface 131 that is a surface of the cover unit 130. However, similarly to a rib 135, the magnet may protrude from the seat surface 131, various modifications are possible. In addition, the magnet 1223 may be made of neodymium that has a high magnetic intensity in comparison with a size, but is not limited thereto.

However, the applicator 120 may be structurally connected with the cover unit 130, which will be described later.

Meanwhile, according to this embodiment, it is shown that one applicator 120 is provided on one cover unit 130. However, a space of the cover unit 130 may have a larger area than the rod-shaped applicator 120, namely, the applicator 120 may be formed such that the width of the handle 122 is narrow, so that several applicators 120 may be accommodated on the cover unit 130. Here, the plurality of applicators 120 may be formed such that their application bodies 121 have different shapes.

Furthermore, according to this embodiment, the applicator 120 is provided on the cover unit 130. However, the cover unit 130 may be configured to simply cover the depression 111 (the cover unit may be hingedly coupled to the main body or the lid unit or may be provided in the form of film paper to be placed on the depression), and the applicator 120 may be provided on the same layer as the depression 111 to be arranged side by side at front and rear portions. As one example, when the cover unit 130 is hingedly coupled to the lid unit 140, the applicator 120 may be disposed on the front portion that is provided on an opposite side of a hinge, and the depression 111 may be placed on the rear portion.

Furthermore, the applicator 120 may be stored under the depression 111. At this time, the main body 110 may be formed such that a space in which the applicator 120 is accommodated and the depression 111 may be vertically arranged in a line. Here, various modifications are possible, for example, the applicator 120 may be stored in a groove provided under the depression 111 or a drawer that is slidably inserted and pulled out may be provided.

The cover unit 130 covers the depression 111 and the applicator 120 is stored.

Each of the cover unit 130 and the depression 111 according to this embodiment may be formed such that the width from left to right is long and the width from front to back is short to correspond to the shape of the applicator 120. Such a structure can store the rod-shaped applicator 120 as described above, and satisfy a consumer's demand for a product of a new shape through a shape differentiated from that of an existing cosmetic container.

Furthermore, the cover unit 130 or the lid unit 140 is provided with a mirror 134 as a reflective surface, so that a user can see his or her appearance when applying makeup. Preferably, the mirror 134 may be provided on a back of the cover unit 130 and stored separately in a space different from the applicator 120.

Therefore, the applicator 120 having the contents thereon cannot come into contact with the mirror 134, thus preventing the mirror 134 from being contaminated with the cosmetics and preventing a reflecting function from deteriorating. The shape of the lid unit 140 covering the applicator 120, especially the inner surface does not need to form a plane according to the shape of the mirror 134, so that it is possible to freely design the lid unit 140. Furthermore, since the mirror 134 of this embodiment is formed such that a length from left to right is longer than a length from front to back when seen from the plan view, the view of the mirror 134 may be made wide, thus allowing a user to easily check his or her face when applying makeup.

In addition, the applicator 120 may be stored on the cover unit 130. In order to secure the applicator 120 to the seat surface 131 that is the upper surface of the cover unit 130, a restraint member may be provided.

The restraint member restrains the rod-shaped applicator 120 when it is stored in the cosmetic container 100, thus preventing the applicator 120 from shaking in or colliding with the cover unit 130 or the lid unit 140, and thereby allowing the applicator to be stably stored.

Such a restraint member may fix the applicator 120 with a magnetic force, or may structurally restrain the applicator. For example, the restraint member may be made of the above-described magnet 1223 or metal to magnetically attach the applicator 120.

Alternatively, referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the restraint member may be the rib 135. The rib 135 may be provided on the seat surface 131 of the cover unit 130. Here, the rib 135 may protrude upwards from the seat surface 131 such that opposite ends of the rib are spaced apart from each other to correspond to the width of the handle 122. The rib 135 may be made of a plastic material to have predetermined elasticity, thus making it easy to insert or remove the applicator 120. One pair of ribs 135 may be provided to be spaced apart from each other, or the inner surface of the rib may be formed to correspond to the applicator 120, so that the rib has the shape of a semicircle that is open at a top thereof, for example.

Alternatively, the restraint member may be composed of an elastic strap (not shown). Both ends of the elastic strap may be secured to the seat surface 131, and the applicator 120 may be inserted into the elastic strap to be restrained.

Meanwhile, the cover unit 130 may be depressed to correspond to the shape of the applicator 120, thus limiting the movement of the applicator 120 accommodated in the cover unit 130. In order to make it easy to take the applicator 120 out from the cover unit 130, recesses may be formed on both areas of the handle 122 to insert fingers therein. As such, various modifications of a structure for storing/fixing the applicator 120 are possible.

Although the above embodiment describes that the applicator 120 is fixed to the cover unit 130, the applicator 120 may be fixed to the lid unit 140, so that a magnet/metal, the rib 135 and/or the elastic strap, which are the restraint member, may be provided on the lid unit 140 equally or similarly to the cover unit 130, to fix the applicator 120 to the lid unit 140.

In addition, the cover unit 130 may include the above-mentioned seat surface 131, an upper protrusion 133, and a lower protrusion 132. Here, as described above, the applicator 120 may be seated on the seat surface 131, which may form a plane.

Furthermore, the lower protrusion 132 may extend towards the depression 111 on an opposite side of the seat surface 131 to seal the depression 111. If the cover unit 130 covers the main body 110, the lower protrusion 132 may be fitted into an upper surface (see FIG.

3) of the depression 111 or an outer circumferential surface (see FIG. 1) of the depression 111. Although not shown in the drawings, the lower protrusion 132 may come into contact with the inner surface of the cover unit 130, that is, the lower side of the cover unit 130 may come into contact with the main body 110 to seal the space of the depression 111.

The upper protrusion 133 extends upwards from a circumference of the seat surface 131. In order to make the lid unit 140 come into close contact with the upper protrusion 133, the upper protrusion 133 extends upwards from the seat surface 131 and then is bent outwards. Thus, in a state where the cover unit 130 is provided inside the lid unit 140, a space between the lid unit 140 and the cover unit 130 may be sealed.

The lid unit 140 may cover the top of the main body 110 as well as the cover unit 130.

As one example, when the height of the upper protrusion 133 that is the circumference (outer edge) of the seat surface 131 of the cover unit 130 is lower than the height of the applicator 120 placed on the seat surface 131, the lid unit 140 has a dome structure that is curved upwardly from a lower end, so that the circumferential surface of the lid unit 140 covers the applicator 120. Here, the cover unit 130 is provided between the main body 110 and the lid unit 140 and is not exposed to the outside, so that an upper end of the main body 110 and a lower end of the lid unit 140 may come into contact with each other.

Alternatively, the height of the upper protrusion 133 of the cover unit 130 may be equal to or higher than that of the applicator 120. Here, various modifications are possible, for example, the lid unit 140 may have the shape of a plane.

Such a lid unit 140 may be hingedly coupled at one side thereof to the cover unit 130 equally or similarly to the cover unit 130, and may rotate around a hinge to open or close the top of the cover unit 130. Here, the other side of the lid unit 140 may be coupled to or separated from the main body 110. The coupling or removal of the other side of the lid unit 140 to or from the cover unit 130 may be implemented by the engagement structure of a locking protrusion (reference numeral is not shown) with a locking hole (reference numeral is not shown). Since this is known to those skilled in the art, a detailed description thereof will be omitted herein. Of course, combinations of other known embodiments may be applied, for example, the lid unit 140 may simply abut on the main body 110.

According to this embodiment, since the applicator 120 that may stably perform makeup without shaking may be stored/used in the cosmetic container 100 together with the cosmetics, it is unnecessary to individually store/carry the rod-shaped applicator 120, and it is possible to prevent the loss of the applicator 120.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and combination of the above embodiments or combination of at least one of the above embodiments and known technologies may be naturally included as another embodiment.

Although the present invention was described with reference to specific embodiments, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be changed and modified in various ways without departing from the scope of the present invention, which is described in the following claims.

All simple modifications or changes of the present invention fall within the purview of the present invention, and the specific scope of the present invention will be apparent from the following claims.

Claims

1. A cosmetic container, comprising:

a main body having a depression to accommodate contents therein;
a cover unit configured to cover the depression; and
an applicator received in the main body,
wherein the applicator has a rod shape, and
the main body has a shape where its width from left to right is long and its width from front to back is short to correspond to the shape of the applicator.

2. The cosmetic container of claim 1, wherein each of the cover unit and the depression has a shape where its width from left to right that is parallel to a longitudinal direction of the applicator is long.

3. The cosmetic container of claim 1, wherein the applicator comprises:

an brush member configured to transfer the contents to skin; and
a handle having on one end thereof the brush member, and being adjustable in length.

4. The cosmetic container of claim 3, wherein the handle comprises:

a first grip member having the brush member; and
a second grip member coupled to or separated from the first grip member.

5. The cosmetic container of claim 3, wherein the handle comprises:

a first grip member having the brush member; and
a second grip member sliding on the first grip member.

6. The cosmetic container of claim 1, wherein the applicator is detachably provided on the cover unit.

7. The cosmetic container of claim 6, wherein the applicator is magnetically coupled to the cover unit.

8. The cosmetic container of claim 6,

wherein the applicator is stored on the cover unit, and
wherein the cover unit comprises a restraint member to restrain the applicator on a seat surface on which the applicator is seated.

9. The cosmetic container of claim 8, wherein the restraint member comprises a rib protruding upwards from the seat surface, opposite ends of the rib being spaced apart from each other so that the applicator is fitted into or removed from the rib.

10. The cosmetic container of claim 1, wherein the cover unit comprises:

a seat surface on which the applicator is seated, the seat surface forming a plane;
a lower protrusion extending towards the depression on an opposite side of the seat surface, so as to seal the depression; and
an upper protrusion extending upwards from a circumference of the seat surface.

11. The cosmetic container of claim 10, further comprising:

a lid unit configured to cover the cover unit,
wherein the lid unit is provided to come into contact with the main body when the main body is closed, so that the upper protrusion is provided inside the lid unit.

12. The cosmetic container of claim 11, wherein the upper protrusion comes into contact with an inside of the lid unit to seal a space between the cover unit and the lid unit.

13. The cosmetic container of claim 1, further comprising:

a lid unit configured to cover the cover unit,
wherein the lid unit has a dome structure that is curved upwardly from a lower end.

14. The cosmetic container of claim 1, wherein the applicator comprises an brush member configured to transfer the contents to skin, and a handle extending from the brush member in an opposite direction, and

the handle has a length from 5 cm to 20 cm.

15. The cosmetic container of claim 11, wherein a reflective surface is provided on a back of the cover unit or the lid unit.

16. The cosmetic container of claim 1, wherein the applicator comprises:

an brush member configured to transfer the contents to skin; and
a handle connected to the brush member, and extending from the brush member in an opposite direction,
wherein the brush member comprises a plurality of bodies having different shapes and provided on the handle.
