The present application is a continuation application of PCT application No. PCT/CN2023/075714 filed on Feb. 13, 2023 which is based upon and claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202220411743.8 filed on Feb. 28, 2022, and is also based upon and claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202322456851.4, filed on Sep. 11, 2023, the entire disclosures of which are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes.
FIELDThe present application generally relates to the field of smart home technology, and in particular but not limited to integrated extendable seat frames and seats.
BACKGROUNDAs the demand for smart home solutions increases, existing furniture such as sofas and chairs often feature movable seat frames to meet the varying needs of different users. Functional seats can adjust their posture, thus presenting different structural states to meet consumers' needs in various postures. Common functional seats generally have a sitting posture and a lying posture (i.e., reclining posture), where the seat acts as a bed in the lying posture. In practice, to control the size of the seat, a leg extension structure is often used to lengthen the seat. When the seat is in the sitting posture, the leg extension structure retracts backward and downward under the seat frame. When the seat is in the lying posture, the leg extension structure extends forward and upward to the front of the seat frame. However, the leg extension structure has limited effectiveness in extendable the seat length. Additionally, storing a large leg extension structure is inconvenient, and its structural stability is poor in the extended state. As a result, functional seats using conventional leg extension structures are not able to provide a reclining-like experience in the reclining position, and thus need to be improved.
Additionally, the existing movable range of seat frames is limited. Some seats extend the length of the seat cushion by adding a footrest-like structure at the front of the seat frame, which does not meet the diverse needs of users for cushion length. Moreover, after the seat frame is extended, a significant gap appears between the back of the seat frame and the backrest frame, resulting in poor comfort and even potential safety hazards for users. Additionally, the adjustment of the seat frame position in existing technologies often relies on manual adjustment by users, which is time-consuming and inconvenient.
Therefore, there is a need for an extendable seat frame and seat that can significantly increase the extension distance of the seat frame main body and, at the same time, drive the flip of the extension part behind the seat frame main body as it extends, to compensate for the gap formed by the movement of the seat frame main body, ensuring smooth movement, comfort, and high safety.

The extendable seat frame may include a base 1, an adjustment frame 3, a driver 2, and an extension apparatus 4. The base 1 may include a front end and a rear end in the extendable direction of the extendable seat frame. The adjustment frame 3 is movably mounted on the base 1. The driver 2 drives the adjustment frame 3 to reciprocate between the front end and the rear end, so that the extendable seat frame can switch between an extended state and a retracted state (i.e., a folded state).
The extension apparatus 4 is adjustably configured between the base 1 and the adjustment frame 3. The extension apparatus 4 includes a limiting link 41, a backrest fixing rod 42, and an extension plate set 43 that are pivotally connected in sequence. The limiting link 41 is pivotally connected to the base 1, and the extension plate set 43 is pivotally connected to the adjustment frame 3.
When the extendable seat frame switches from the retracted state to the extended state, the adjustment frame 3 moves toward the front end, and the extension plate set 43 pulls the backrest fixing rod 42 and the limiting link 41 to flip toward the front end.
It should be noted that the increased seat depth or length of the seat in the extended state, compared to the seat in the retracted state, is the sum of the length of the extension cushion II and the length of the part of the seat cushion I that is behind the backrest cushion III. This significantly increases the length of the seat, thereby enabling the seat to function as a bed in the extended state.
In another example, in order to improve structural stability, the adjustment frame 3 has a support rod 33. The support rod 33 extends in the front-rear direction, that is, in the extendable direction of the extendable seat frame. The front end of the support rod 33 is equipped with a roller 331 that is in rolling contact with the ground, and the seat cushion I is positioned on the support rod 33.
In another example, the extension plate set 43 includes at least one pulling extension plate 431, with one end of the pulling extension plate 431 pivotally connected to the backrest fixing rod 42 and the other end pivotally connected to the adjustment frame 3. The adjustment frame 3 is capable of more stably driving the backrest fixing rod 42 through the pulling extension plate 431, while also being able to reduce the height of the adjustment frame 3 through the pulling extension plate 431.
In another example, when the adjustment frame 3 is directly pivotally connected to the backrest fixing rod 42, the height of the adjustment frame 3 would need to be increased to achieve the same leverage effect provided by the pulling extension plate 431. However, increasing the height of the adjustment frame 3 could interfere with the extension cushion II. To achieve the desired length of the seat in the extended state, as shown in
In another example, the pulling extension plate 431 is a single unit. Specifically, as shown in
In other examples, there can be two or three pulling extension plates 431, with the two or three pulling extension plates 431 being pivotally connected in sequence.
As shown in
In another example, the pulling extension plate 431 is provided with a first limiting shaft 4311, which is located between the second pivot point b and the third pivot point c. When the extendable seat frame is in the retracted state, the first limiting shaft 4311 rests against the backrest fixing rod 42. The first limiting shaft 4311 works with the backrest fixing rod 42 to limit the movement of the pulling extension plate 431, thereby assisting the driver 2 in limiting the movement of the adjustment frame 3, ensuring that the extendable seat frame remains stable in the retracted state.
As shown in
In another example, the adjustment frame 3 is slidably connected to the base 1. As shown in
In some examples, the driver 2 is a linear actuator, with the fixed part 21 of the driver 2 mounted on the middle beam 13, and the first sliding member 22 connected to the seat frame body 3. To improve the structural strength and stability of the extendable seat frame, the extendable seat frame includes two parallel guide rails 16. The middle beam 13 and the front beam 12 are parallel to each other, and the driver 2 is positioned between the two guide rails 16. Accordingly, two adjustment frames 3 are correspondingly set with the two guide rails 16, and the two adjustment frames 3 are linked by a linkage beam 5. During use, the fixed part 21 of the driver 2 is mounted on the middle beam 13, and the first sliding member 22 is connected to the linkage beam 5, to synchronously drive the two adjustment frames 3 to reciprocate along the front-rear direction relative to the guide rails 16. In some examples, the moving distance driven by the driver 2 is greater than 300 mm.
The base 1 may further include a rear beam 14, with the rear beam 14 positioned at the rear end, the front beam 12 positioned at the front end, and the middle beam 13 positioned between the front beam 12 and the rear beam 14. The rotating frame 41 is pivotally connected to the middle beam 13 or the guide rail 16. When the extendable seat frame is in the retracted state, the rotating frame 41 extends toward the rear beam 14, and the backrest fixing rod 42 and the extension plate set 43 are located in the area between the middle beam 13 and the rear beam 14. As shown in
In another example, the base 1 further includes a longitudinal beam 11, with the front beam 12, middle beam 13, and rear beam 14 all fixedly connected to the longitudinal beam 11.
In another example, there are two longitudinal beams 11, positioned at the ends of the extendable direction of the front beam 12, middle beam 13, and rear beam 14, forming a structurally stable box-type base 1.
In another example, the longitudinal beams 11 are provided with armrest beams 111. The armrest beams 111, together with the longitudinal beams 11, front beam 12, middle beam 13, and rear beam 14, achieve an integrated structural design for the extendable seat frame, providing good structural stability and case of assembly. During operation, the armrest beams 111 and the longitudinal beams 11 are used to install the side panels of the seat (not shown in the figures), to conceal the internal structure of the seat frame from the sides.
In another example, the middle beam 13 is provided with a fixing plate 131, and the rotating frame 41 is pivotally connected to the fixing plate 131. Furthermore, the rotating frame 41 is provided with a third limiting shaft 411. When the extendable seat frame is in the retracted state, the third limiting shaft 411 rests against the fixing plate 131. The third limiting shaft 411 limits the rotating frame 41, and together with the first limiting shaft 4311, limits the pulling extension plate 431, assisting the drive mechanism 2 in stabilizing the position of the seat frame body 3, to ensure that the extendable seat frame is in a stable retracted state. The rotating frame 41, in cooperation with the front fixing mount 32, provides support for the backrest fixing rod 42 and the pulling extension plate 431 when in the extended state.
In another example, the base 1 may further include a backrest beam 15 positioned near the rear beam 14, and the backrest cushion III is mounted on the backrest beam 15.
As shown in
As shown in
The extendable seat frame provided by examples in the present disclosure, for example as shown in
The technical solution of the examples above at least has the following advantages and beneficial effects:
The seat frame body of the present disclosure can more stably drive the lengthening part through the extension plate set while also being able to reduce the height of the seat frame body through the extension plate set. This makes it possible to increase the height of the lengthening part, which is beneficial for the extendable seat frame, that is, the seat, to achieve a greater seat depth when in the extended state, thereby enabling the transformation of the seat into a bed function. At the same time, when the extendable seat frame is in the extended state, the pulling extension plate can cooperate with the lengthening part to provide longitudinal support force for the extension cushion, thereby effectively ensuring the structural stability of the seat.
The examples of this present disclosure are implemented through the following technical solutions.
In some examples, provided is an extendable seat frame, including: a base, having a front end and a rear end in the extendable direction of the extendable seat frame; an adjustment frame, movably mounted on the fixed base; a driver, configured to drive the seat frame body to reciprocate between the front end and the rear end, so that the extendable seat frame can switch between an extended state and a retracted state; an extension apparatus, adjustably configured between the fixed base and the adjustment frame, the extension apparatus includes a rotating frame, a backrest fixing rod, and an extension plate set that are pivotally connected in sequence, wherein the rotating frame is pivotally connected to the base, and the extension plate set is pivotally connected to the adjustment frame.
When the extendable seat frame switches from the retracted state to the extended state, the adjustment frame moves toward the front end, and the extension plate set pulls the backrest fixing rod and the rotating frame to flip toward the front end.
In some examples, the pivot point between the backrest fixing rod and the rotating frame is defined as the first pivot point, the pivot point between the backrest fixing rod and the extension plate set is defined as the second pivot point, and the pivot point between the extension plate set and the adjustment frame is defined as the third pivot point. When the extendable seat frame is in the extended state, the angle between the line connecting the first pivot point and the second pivot point and the line connecting the second pivot point and the third pivot point is 150°-180°.
In some examples, the extension plate set includes at least one pulling extension plate, with one end of the pulling extension plate pivotally connected to the backrest fixing rod, and the other end pivotally connected to the adjustment frame.
In some examples, the adjustment frame is slidably connected to the base.
In some examples, the base includes a front beam, a middle beam, and a guide rail, where the guide rail extends across the front beam and the middle beam and is fixedly connected to both the front beam and the middle beam, with the extendable direction of the guide rail being parallel to the extendable direction of the extendable seat frame; the seat frame body is slidably connected to the guide rail.
In some examples, the base further includes a rear beam, with the rear beam positioned at the rear end, the front beam positioned at the front end, and the middle beam positioned between the front beam and the rear beam. The rotating frame is pivotally connected to the middle beam or the guide rail. When the extendable seat frame is in the retracted state, the rotating frame extends toward the rear beam, and the backrest fixing rod and the extension plate set are located in the area between the middle beam and the rear beam.
In some examples, the fixed base further comprises longitudinal beams, with the front beam, middle beam, and rear beam all fixedly connected to the longitudinal beams.
In some examples, the middle beam is provided with a fixing plate, and the rotating frame is pivotally connected to the fixing plate.
In some examples, the longitudinal beams are provided with armrest beams.
In some examples, the adjustment frame has a support rod that is extendable in the extendable direction of the extendable seat frame, with the front end of the support rod fitted with a roller that is in rolling contact with the ground.
In some examples, the adjustment frame includes a front seat frame support and a front fixing mount that are connected to each other, with the support rod fixedly connected to the front seat frame support; the front fixing mount is pivotally connected to the extension plate set.
In some examples, the front fixing mount is L-shaped, with one segment fixedly connected to the front seat frame support and the other segment pivotally connected to the extension plate set.
In some examples, the extension plate set includes a pulling extension plate, and the pulling extension plate is provided with a first limiting shaft; when the extendable seat frame is in the retracted state, the first limiting shaft rests against the backrest fixing rod.
In some examples, the extension plate set includes a pulling extension plate, and the front fixing mount is provided with a second limiting shaft; when the extendable seat frame is in the extended state, the pulling extension plate rests against the second limiting shaft.
Specifically, as shown in
Specifically, the extendable seat frame may be applied to a furniture such as a sofa, a chair, or a seat. In another example, the overall depth of the sofa, that is, the depth of the armrest, may be set to 900˜1000 mm. Due to the limited depth of the sofa, the length of the extension part 921 in the extendable direction may be set to 200˜350 mm. On one hand, this ensures that the extension part has sufficient length to compensate for the gap formed after the seat frame main body 901 extends, preventing the user from falling into the gap and reducing discomfort due to lack of support at the user's lower back. On the other hand, it avoids the overly long extension part 921 from being bumped by internal structures or the ground during storage, thereby extendable the lifespan of the extendable seat frame. In another example, the depth of the armrest may be set to 950 mm, and the length of the extension part 921 may be set to 280 mm, providing high comfort and user satisfaction.
Specifically, each rotating frame 922 is rotatably connected to the extension part 921 and is also rotatably connected to the fixed base 903, allowing the extension part 921 to freely flip as the seat frame main body 901 moves, without being easily restricted by rotation. Moreover, two rotating frames 922 are respectively set on both sides of the extension part 921 to ensure balance and stability during rotation. In another example, based on the support strength and structural stability, only one rotating frame 922 may be set, saving material costs.
Furthermore, as shown in
Specifically, at least one set of rotating connection components is also set at the connection between the extension part 921 and the seat frame main body 901 to rotatably connect the extension part 921 to the seat frame main body 901. As shown in
Specifically, in another example, the second connector 9210 is set as a bent L-shaped piece. One side of the L-shaped piece is fixedly connected to the extension part 921, with a large contact area and reliable connection, while the other side of the L-shaped piece is rotatably connected to the first connector 911, with a simple structure and flexible rotation.
Specifically, as shown in
Specifically, in another example, the second connector 9210 may be directly set as a groove structure, that is, the second connector 9210 is directly formed by grooving the end face of the extension part 921. The groove structure is located on the end face of the extension part 921, and the first connector 1 is inserted into the groove structure. The groove structure may rotate relative to the first connector 911, further simplifying the structure, reducing the number of parts needed for assembly, and lowering costs. Moreover, the pin between the first connector 911 and the second connector 9210 may also be a structure of the extension part 921 itself. That is, when grooving the groove structure, two pin-shaped protrusions are reserved on both sides of the groove structure, allowing the pin-shaped protrusions to be rotatably connected to the first connector 911. The structure is simpler, and rotation is more convenient. The groove structure, being an integral part of the extension part 921, is also less likely to have loose parts, ensuring good rotational stability.
Specifically, the extendable seat frame may also include a driver 904, as shown in
Specifically, as shown in
Specifically, as shown in
In some examples, the sliding component 906 includes a first sliding part 961 and two second sliding part 962. The first sliding part 961 is driven by the driver 904, allowing it to slide back and forth along the first guide rail 951 in the extendable direction. The second sliding part 962 are fixedly connected to the first sliding part 961. Thus, when the first sliding part 961 is driven to move, the second sliding part 962 slide along with it, enabling the second sliding part 962 to slide relative to the second guide rail 952. At the same time, to further limit any deviation in the sliding direction, each second sliding part 962 is slidably connected to a corresponding second guide rail 952, ensuring that the sliding direction of the second sliding part 962 follows the extendable direction of the second guide rail 952, that is, moving back and forth in the extendable direction. In this sliding mechanism, the first guide rail 951 and the first sliding part 961 act as the primary sliding group, driven by the driver 904 to perform active relative sliding motion, while the second guide rail 952 and the second sliding part 962 act as the auxiliary sliding group, being passively moved in relative sliding motion. Additionally, the top of the second sliding part 962 is equipped with a support part, used to fix the second sliding part 962 to the seat frame main body 901, thus allowing the first sliding part 961 and the second sliding part 962 to cooperate with each other, further driving the seat frame main body 901 to perform reciprocating sliding, ensuring balance and stability.
In one example, an extendable push rod is set between the seat frame main body 901 and the fixed base 903. This extendable push rod includes a telescopic section and a fixed section that are telescopically connected. One end of the telescopic section is connected to the seat frame main body 901, while one end of the fixed section is connected to the driver 904. Thus, when the driver 904 outputs power, the telescopic section can move telescopically relative to the fixed section, further driving the seat frame main body 901 to move relative to the fixed base 903.
In another example, the maximum moving distance that the seat frame main body 901 may extend is 450˜600 mm. That is, the position of the seat frame main body 901 in the extended state is moved forward by 450˜600 mm compared to its position in the retracted state, greatly increasing the extendable distance and meeting the user's needs for different seat frame lengths. In another example, the maximum moving distance may be 500 mm. However, this present disclosure is not limited to this moving distance. Depending on actual needs, the seat frame main body 901 may have various different extendable distances.
The present disclosure also provides a piece of furniture, including a first cushion, a second cushion, and the above-described extendable seat frame. The first cushion is set above the seat frame main body 901, while the second cushion is set above the extension part 921. In the retracted state, the second cushion is placed behind the seat frame main body 901 along with the extension part 921. In the extended state, the upper surface of the first cushion and the upper surface of the second cushion are on the same horizontal plane, ensuring the overall flatness of the cushions and high comfort in use.
According to the examples above, the present disclosure adds a flip-type extension part behind the seat frame main body, which can greatly increase the extendable distance of the seat frame main body. At the same time, as the seat frame main body extends, it drives the extension part behind to flip, compensating for the gap formed when the seat frame main body moves to the extended state. The movement is smooth and convenient, with good comfort and high safety. Additionally, the extension part may be hidden behind the seat frame main body in the retracted state, occupying less space, improving space utilization, and facilitating user storage.
Additionally, the present disclosure sets a rotating frame between the extension part and the fixed base for rotational connection, allowing the extension part to flexibly rotate as the seat frame main body extends, making extension convenient and rotation stability good.
Furthermore, the first sliding part is driven by the driver to slide, which in turn drives the second sliding part to slide. That is, the second sliding part plays an auxiliary sliding role, and the combination of active and passive sliding ensures that the sliding direction of the seat frame main body is restricted by multiple sliding structures, providing high sliding stability, easy adjustment, and good flexibility.
Other implementation solutions of the disclosure will be apparent to those skilled in the art from consideration of the specification and practice of the disclosure.
