FIG. 2 is a greatly enlarged, fragmentary cross-sectional view taken along the line 2--2 of FIG. 1;

FIG. 3 is an enlarged end view of the writing instrument shown in FIG. 1, taken from the left hand side thereof; and

FIG. 4 is an enlarged end view of the writing instrument shown in FIG. 1, taken from the right hand side thereof.
