BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a new and distinct cultivar of Calibrachoa plant, botanically known as Calibrachoa hybrida and hereinafter referred to by the name ‘WICAMIMAG27’.
The new Calibrachoa plant is a product of a planned breeding program conducted by the Inventors in Higashiomi, Shiga, Japan and Mustang Ridge, Texas. The objective of the breeding program is to create new uniform, freely-branching and freely-flowering Calibrachoa plants with double-type flowers with unique coloration and good container and garden performance.
The new Calibrachoa plant originated from a cross-pollination conducted by the Inventors in Higashiomi, Shiga, Japan on May 1, 2020 of Calibrachoa hybrida ‘Petty Double Sakura Rose’, not patented, as the female, or seed, parent with a proprietary seedling selection of Calibrachoa hybrida identified as code number 19CJ39, not patented, as the male, or pollen, parent. The new Calibrachoa plant was discovered and selected by the Inventors as a single flowering plant within the progeny of the stated cross-pollination in a controlled greenhouse environment in Mustang Ridge, Texas on Oct. 12, 2021.
Asexual reproduction of the new Calibrachoa plant by vegetative terminal cuttings in a controlled greenhouse environment in Mustang Ridge, Texas since Oct. 25, 2021 has shown that the unique features of this new Calibrachoa plant are stable and reproduced true to type in successive generations.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONPlants of the new Calibrachoa have not been observed under all possible combinations of environmental conditions and cultural practices. The phenotype may vary somewhat with variations in environmental conditions such as temperature and light intensity without, however, any variance in genotype.
The following traits have been repeatedly observed and are determined to be the unique characteristics of ‘WICAMIMAG27’. These characteristics in combination distinguish ‘WICAMIMAG27’ as a new and distinct Calibrachoa plant:

- 1. Upright to outwardly spreading and mounding to trailing plant habit.
- 2. Moderately vigorous to vigorous growth habit.
- 3. Freely branching habit; dense and bushy appearance.
- 4. Early and freely flowering habit.
- 5. Iridescent double-type flowers that are bright reddish purple in color with darker reddish purple-colored centers.
- 6. Excellent container and garden performance.
Plants of the new Calibrachoa differ primarily from plants of the female parent, ‘Petty Double Sakura Rose’, in the following characteristics:

- 1. Plants of the new Calibrachoa are more freely flowering than plants of ‘Petty Double Sakura Rose’.
- 2. Flowers of plants of the new Calibrachoa are bright reddish purple in color with darker reddish purple-colored centers whereas flowers of plants of ‘Petty Double Sakura Rose’ are pale pink in color with dark rose pink-colored centers.
- 3. Plants of the new Calibrachoa flower for a longer period of time than plants of ‘Petty Double Sakura Rose’.
Plants of the new Calibrachoa differ primarily from plants of the male parent selection, in the following characteristics:

- 1. Plants of the new Calibrachoa are more freely flowering than plants of the male parent selection.
- 2. Plants of the new Calibrachoa have double-type flowers whereas plants of the male parent selection have single-type flowers.
- 3. Flowers of plants of the new Calibrachoa are bright reddish purple in color with darker reddish purple-colored centers whereas flowers of plants of the male parent selection are bright pink in color.
- 4. Plants of the new Calibrachoa flower for a longer period of time than plants of the male parent selection.
Plants of the new Calibrachoa can be compared to plants of the Calibrachoa sp. ‘USCAL51505’, disclosed in U.S. Plant Pat. No. 30,803. In side-by-side comparisons, plants of the new Calibrachoa differ primarily from plants of ‘USCAL51505’ in the following characteristics:

- 1. Plants of the new Calibrachoa are not as vigorous as plants of ‘USCAL51505’.
- 2. Flowers of plants of the new Calibrachoa are bright reddish purple in color with darker reddish purple-colored centers whereas flowers of plants of ‘USCAL51505’ are pale yellow in color.
The accompanying colored photographs illustrate the overall appearance of the new Calibrachoa plant showing the colors as true as it is reasonably possible to obtain in colored reproductions of this type. Colors in the photographs may differ slightly from the color values cited in the detailed botanical description which accurately describe the colors of the new Calibrachoa plant.

The aforementioned photographs and following observations and measurements describe plants grown during the late summer to early autumn in 740-ml containers in a glass-covered greenhouse in Loudon, New Hampshire and under cultural practices typical of commercial Calibrachoa production. During the production of the plants, day temperatures ranged from 18° C. to 20° C. and night temperatures ranged from 16° C. to 18° C. Plants were pinched one time and were eight weeks from planting rooted young plants when the photographs and description were taken. In the following description, color references are made to The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart, 2015 Edition, except where general terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used.

- Seeds and fruits.—To date, seed and fruit development have not been observed on plants of the new Calibrachoa.

- Garden performance: Plants of the new Petunia have been observed to have excellent garden performance and have been observed to tolerate rain, wind and temperatures ranging from about 1° C. to about 35° C.
- Pathogen & pest resistance: To date, plants of the new Calibrachoa have not been observed to be resistant to pathogens and pests common to Calibrachoa plants.
