Patent number: 4345351Abstract: Extension handle consists of a pair of telescoping handle parts made out of relatively thin-walled plastic tubing. A protrusion on the outer wall of the inner tubular member, formed as by inserting a pop rivet therethrough, frictionally engages the inner wall of the outer tubular member to provide some drag or resistance to axial movement of the tubular members relative to each other. The outer tubular member, being made of relatively thin-walled plastic tubing, will deform more or less according to the amount of interference between the rivet and inner wall of the outer tubular member. A rigid metal or plastic ring at the inner end of the outer tubular member acts as an abutment or stop for the protrusion on the inner tubular member thus preventing the telescoping handle parts from being completely pulled apart.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1981Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: SECO Industries, Inc.Inventors: Theron C. Patent number: 4345380Abstract: A hand-held, manually operable gauge for measuring the gap between opposing surfaces of a pair of spaced parts includes a pair of reciprocable gauge fingers insertable into the gap and respectively shiftable into engagement with the parts by a lever pivotally mounted on a handle. One of the fingers is stationarily mounted on the handle while the other finger is secured to a plunger slidably mounted on the handle and driven by the lever. Linear displacement of the plunger is translated by a rack and pinion to rotary motion for operating a potentiometer whose setting corresponds to the magnitude of the gap. A switch carried by the handle and activated by the lever produces a signal proportional to the potentiometer setting, which signal is delivered to a device for visually displaying the magnitude of the gap. A lost motion mechanism permits continued displacement of the lever after the gauge fingers have contacted the parts.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1981Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: Candid Logic, Inc.Inventor: Arthur D. Patent number: 4345381Abstract: A universal measuring template for use in in-place marking and locating utility outlet openings, window and door cutouts and the like in construction panels comprising a perforated carrier having a film of adhesive applied to one face thereof. The perforations in the carrier control the ratio of adhesive areas exposed to one transfer surface. A gauge variation is developed within the template by the thickness of material used and the adhesive film. A first adhesive bond is created utilizing the least adhesive area exposed through the perforations on one surface of the template and a second adhesive bond is created utilizing the greatest adhesive covered area on the other surface. The first adhesive bond is developed on a utility box perimeter or other surface area and the second bond is developed on a building panel. A greater bond is developed on the building panel surface due to the greater adhesive covered surface area being extended to said panel surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Inventor: Patricia C. Patent number: 4345385Abstract: For continuously drying a cloth, the cloth is subjected to a drying process in which high pressure dry hot air is jetted against the cloth in a zigzag pattern from both sides thereof while transporting the cloth continuously through a cloth passage. The cloth passage is a gap formed between a pair of horizontally extending parallel endless net conveyors located one above the other. In accordance with the rotation of the two conveyors the cloth is vigorously beat and vibrated as it passes through the gap in a snaky state under no tension to afford drying of the cloth. When the drying process is effected by stepwise lowering the temperature of the cloth, or is repeated by cooling the heated cloth in the open atmosphere, the drying resembles natural drying, preventing the cloth from becoming fragile, and moreover, in particular heat energy is saved. A cloth in a ropy state can also be dried satisfactorily and effectively by inserting a cloth untwisting process and a cloth expanding process prior to drying.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: Sando Iron WorksInventors: Yoshikazu Sando, Hiroshi Ishidoshiro

Patent number: 4345386Abstract: Disclosed herein is an air agitation device that is positioned between two opposite sets of shelves on which the articles to be dried are placed. The device constitutes two identical crankshafts, oriented in the same direction, that rotate in synchrony with respect to axes perpendicular to the opposite surfaces of the said sets of shelves. To the crankpins of the said shafts are articulated, on opposite sides, two ventilation frames, each of which provided with a plurality of fins oriented suitably with respect to the said sets of shelves. The synchronous rotation of the crankshafts renders movable each frame, which oscillates with a harmonic motion in two inter-perpendicular directions, one of which is coincident with the longitudinal axis of the passageway existing between the sets of shelves.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: Carra Officine Meccaniche S.p.A.Inventor: Carra Gianni

Patent number: 4345387Abstract: A resilient inner sole for a shoe is integrally formed from resilient material into a generally flat sheet member. The sheet member has a flat under surface with a plurality of openings which are upwardly enlarged to form air pockets, and the resilient material of the member extends over and thereby encloses the upper sides of the air pockets. When an impact is received upon an upper surface of the member, the member compresses, and air flows from the air pockets outward through the associated openings.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Inventor: Alexander C. Patent number: 4345388Abstract: A method for controlling the production of a dredging apparatus such that the highest possible concentration of the mixture is obtained, by using for controlling the dredger, the difference between the forces occurring at the dredging implement and the forces occurring upon maximum concentration. The value of that maximum force, which depends on the dredging conditions, is continuously adapted to the ratio between the existing concentration and the existing loosening force in order to obtain an immediate response to changing conditions during dredging.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: IHC Holland N.V.Inventor: Cornelis de Keizer

Patent number: 4345390Abstract: A screen tension and printing frame includes sets of parallel rollers coupled at their ends to corner members. Each roller is coupled to one edge portion of a screen. The screen is sealed with a respect to a dam member located inwardly of the rollers. A discrete member is connected to each dam member for preventing the associated roller from bowing inwardly toward its associated dam member, including a limit stop connected to each dam member by at least one web.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: Stretch Devices, Inc.Inventor: Don E. Patent number: 4345391Abstract: A laundry feeding machine, particularly suitable for feeding small-piece flat-work articles to an ironing machine. A pair of clamping devices is arranged to accept any part of the leading edge of an article. The devices are moved apart symmetrically with respect to a feeding line of the machine, and as they move, the leading edge of the article runs through them. Each clamping device has a sensor which detects the side edge of the article and on such detection the clamping device is locked on to the article to hold it firmly. When both devices are locked the article is released and thus fed on to a feeding conveyor.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Inventor: Henry J. Weir

Patent number: 4345392Abstract: This invention relates to a simple, inexpensive calendar sheet and holder, intended as an appointment type where notations may be made in each day box, that has as its feature a continuous week by week display covering several, say 5, weeks at a time. Preferably one plus calendar years are printed on a continuous roll of paper so that as each week ends it is pulled so that successive weeks, one per line, are exposed and the used portion may be torn-off. The flat calendar holder is of simple, preferably one piece, construction, which has a unitary chamber to hold the calendar roll and an aperture to expose the calendar sheet.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Inventor: Robert W.
