Abstract: A new variety of Asiatic hybrid lily plant, characterized by rapid and natural propagation in field cultivation, vigorous growth when forced under glass without excessive leaf scorch or bud abortion, high resistance to disease and high tolerance to virus. The plant has broad leaves and bears large clusters of medium to large size upright flowers of excellent form, long persistence, and characterized in particular by their brilliant orange unspotted color.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Oriental Hybrid lily plant of the Parkmannis type, particularly distinguished by its large, brilliant, purplish-red, heavily spotted flowers which are borne on short, stiff stems and strong, upwardly-extending pedicels, usually with one bud or flower on each pedicel, and by its very wide, oval, dark green, glossy and relatively disease-resistant foliage. Its short and squatty, compact growth habit makes it an ideal plant for pot culture.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of lily plant of the Parkmannis-type Oriental Hybrid particularly distinguished by its glossy, rosy pink, moderately spotted, white edged, upwardly and outwardly facing flowers which are borne in raceme arrangement on long, strong, upright pedicels, usually with one bud or flower on each pedicel, and by its dark green, relatively disease-resistant foliage.
Abstract: An adapter is provided consisting of a tubular center section and a pair of circular flange sections at each end of the tubular center section. One of the flanges is removable so that coils of tie material such as string, cord, wire, or plastic or paper covered wire and the like can be placed on the adapter and the flange replaced. The tube is segmented circumferentially and can be expanded to tightly engage the inside surface of the coil. One of the flanges floats axially on the adapter and is resiliently biased in the direction of the other flange to tightly engage the side surfaces of the wound up coil.
Abstract: An anti-friction sucker rod coupling and guide apparatus comprises:(a) a rod member having an anti-friction surface along its cylindrical length;(b) fasteners affixed at each end of the rod member for attaching the rod member within a sucker rod string;(c) a rod guide having an inner anti-friction surface contacting the anti-friction surface of the rod member and slideably positioned about the rod member, the rod guide having an outer diameter sufficient to functionally contact the inner diameter of a tubing string in which the sucker rod string is positioned, the rod guide further including passageway sufficient to permit passage of produced fluid the fasteners adapted to maintain the rod guide on the rod member within deformation.
Abstract: A fused plug having the line cord wires terminating within the plug and a fuse link inside the plug between each wire and an associated plug prong.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for plasma flame-spraying coating material onto a substrate by means of passing a plasma-forming gas through a nozzle electrode, passing an arc-forming current between said nozzle electrode and a rear electrode to form a plasma effluent, introducing spray coating material into the plasma effluent, passing the plasma effluent axially through a wall shroud extending from the exit of said nozzle electrode and forming a hot gas shroud for the plasma effluent at least within the wall shroud. .Iadd.

Abstract: An improved webbed swimming glove in which the finger sheaths have cutting holes on sheath end. Webs are provided between adjacent finger sheaths for facilitating swimming or diving use. A similar glove in which the finger sheaths terminate in a tip structure surrounding a hole is also disclosed. The sheath of index finger may be formed as a truncated sheath facilitate triggering a gun for military or a frogman's use.
Abstract: Head protecting headwear in the form of a helmet is disclosed. The helmet includes a resilient, plastic shell which defines a head receiving opening and which has a protective peak. A sweatband is fastened to the shell, adjacent the head receiving opening. The helmet also includes a cover, formed of a stretchable fabric, which slips over the shell and snugly fits thereon. The cover may be removed for purposes of washing or replacement. Fastening elements, disposed on the peak and the cover, may also be provided for securing the cover to the shell and also for preventing the cover from "drooping" relative to the peak.
Abstract: A man's briefs having an opening formed therein including a cover member attached to the briefs and located adjacent the opening formed in the briefs, a band-type ring attached to an upper portion of the opening formed in the briefs, a rubbing cloth attached to an interior portion of the cover and a plurality of wrinkles formed on a bottom portion of the cover. The cover member can overlap the opening formed in the briefs.
Abstract: A custom-fitted helmet in which a preformed elastomer sack containing a resin-bead composite adapted to rigidify in response to mechanical deformation accommodates a single rigid outer shell to various individual head sizes. The underside of the sack is formed with circular channels concentric about the top of wearer's head which lockingly receive resilient strips that are part of a preformed inner helmet assembly. The resilient strips are carried on the inner assembly by intermediary energy-absorbing strips which are in turn adhered to a flexible leather liner fitting over the wearer's head.

Abstract: The tendon and/or ligament substitute is inelastic in the longitudinal direction and is formed of a round rope having a core filament and outer filaments of smaller diameter surrounding the core filament. Each filament is encased in a tube to reduce abrasion and a cover holds the various filaments together. The construction of the filaments insures an increase in elasticity from the inside to the outside as required for biological-medical reasons.
Abstract: A plastic stent for a prosthetic trileaflet heart valve consisting of a cylindrical body section terminating at one end in three apical, commissure posts, and at the other end, in an outward-extending flange. The flange is provided with an interrupted channel encircling the base of the cylindrical section. An optional metal ring may be mounted adjacent the flange and spaced from the base of the cylindrical section. A cloth cover is secured to the stent by stitching directly through the flange in the area of reduced thickness resulting from the interrupted channel.
Abstract: A vacuum suction type urinating aid comprises a urine transport tube connected, at one end, with a urine receiver provided with a urine suction opening to be applied to a urinating region, and connected, at the other end, with a urine tank communicating to a vacuum suction device. The vacuum suction device is provided with a partition and support plate around a motor mounted with an impeller, to fit the motor by the support plate to a casing forming an air passage. The suction and the delivery side of the air passage communicate through the impeller. The casing is internally provided with plural silencing partition plates at the suction side and the delivery side of the air passage to divert the air current passing therethrough.
Abstract: A vacuum suction type urinating aid, includes the urine transport tubes of plural urine suction units connected to a common urine tank through corresponding solenoid valves. The urine tank is connected at its upper part, to a vacuum suction device. Each of the plural urine suction units is composed of a urine receiver provided with a urine suction opening to be applied to a urinating region, an air suction hole separate from the urine suction opening, and a urine outlet, with one of the urine transport tubes being connected to the urine outlet of a respective urine receiver.
