Abstract: This invention relates to a method of manufacturing an ignition file for a lighter by a press and a device therefor, more particularly to an improvement of a punching operation of an axial hole for mounting an ignition file. A material pressed into a disk-like configuration is prepared and a concave portion is provided in the approximate center of both sides of the file member. A hole is punched between concave portion having a diameter smaller than that of the concave portion. The fin of the file member caused by punching is absorbed in a gap provided inside the die wall while the fin projecting toward the die hole to be punched is absorbed in said concave portion.

  • Patent number: 4702153
Abstract: An onboard kitchen for an aircraft includes at least one kitchen unit with a counter top, a kitchen sink and a venting hood connected to an air exhaust conduit. A cyclone type separator is connected with its inlet and outlet ports into the exhaust air conduit thus connecting the separator to the venting hood. The cyclone type separator divides the airflow into a clean airflow which is led into a clean air discharge conduit and into a contaminating particles carrying airflow which is led into a discharge pipe connected to a drainage duct which connects the kitchen sink, preferably to a drainage pylon outside the aircraft body. The use of filters is thus avoided and the maintenance costs are minimized.

  • Patent number: 4702167
Abstract: A propellant-charge pack has an annular envelope having an outer wall extending along and centered on an axis, a pair of axially spaced end walls extending transversely inward from the axis and having inner peripheries centered on the axis, and an inner wall defining a clear axially throughgoing passage between the inner peripheries of the end walls. The envelope is generally axially symmetrical about the axis, that is it is formed as a body of revolution or of regular polygonal section, and is substantially symmetrical to a plane perpendicular to the axis midway between the end walls. A relatively easily ignited primer charge forms a part of the inner wall symmetrical of the plane and a propellant charge fills the envelope between the walls outward of the inner wall. The primer charge is of such high combustibility, compared to the diameter of the passage, that the entire primer charge, even of a stack of such packs, will be ignited before they burn through and set off the respective propellant charges.

  • Patent number: 4702169
Abstract: A firing train function indicator 10 for a self neutralizing recoverable land mine 16. An explosive bolt 20 is used to hold a helical spring 44 in a compressed state. The upper portion 30 of the bolt 20 is attached to one end of the spring 44 and the other end 32 of the explosive bolt 20 is attached to base 38 of indicator 10. A highly visible inverted cup-shaped flag 48 is also attached to the upper portion 30 of the explosive bolt 20. The detonator 18 of the explosive bolt 20 is fired when the mine 16 self neutralizes to separate the upper portion 30 of the bolt 20 from its lower portion 32. The spring 44 is then free to expand raising the flag 48 above the self neutralized mine 16. A flag 48 so deployed, identifies the location of a self neutralized mine 16 and is a reliable indicator to recovery personnel that the mine 16 is in fact safe to approach and recover.

  • Patent number: 4702193
Abstract: The present invention relates to a collapsible boat. The boat is comprised of a flexible water-tight hull-and-deck skin including a deckside cockpit aperture; a bow and forward frame unit for insertion through the aperture toward the bow of the hull-and-deck skin; and a transom and aft frame unit for insertion through the aperture toward the stern of the hull-and-deck skin. A central tensioning unit is provided for insertion through the aperture, the tensioning unit cooperates with the bow and forward frame unit and the transom and aft frame unit so as to simultaneously urge the bow and forward frame unit and the transom and aft unit apart to thereby stretch and tension the hull-and-deck skin. A rigid case assembly is provided for insertion into the aperture and cooperates with the bow and forward frame unit, the transom and aft frame unit and the tensioning unit, the case forming a cockpit for the boat.

Abstract: A fingerprint card holder includes a body member defining a flat support surface and a front, back and side walls extending downwardly therefrom. A front guide bar is carried by the body member and extends outwardly from the front wall a distance sufficient to accommodate a fingerprint card so that the card can be inserted between the guide bar and the front wall and then bent back against the support surface to expose a desired row of fingerprint receiving spaces. The guide bar includes inwardly extending studs which are biased against the front wall to hold the card while it is being bent. A releasable adhesive is secured to the support surface to releasably hold a card thereagainst.

  • Patent number: 4702196
Abstract: The invention concerns a coating device for coating a travelling web travelling past the coating device. A chamber for coating composition has an exit mouth, and pressurized coating composition exits the mouth into an application space between the mouth and the web. A doctor blade for the web is downstream of the application space. A damming strip with an edge spaced from the web is upstream of the application space. The damming strip defines an exit slot for excess coating composition in the application space. A flow body in the application space includes feed channels leading from the mouth toward the web and includes passage openings extending generally transversely of the feed channels for conducting the rotary flow of coating composition through the application space. The flow body has obstacles above the exit ends of the feed channels which make the flow therearound more uniform.

  • Patent number: 4702197
Abstract: A device for cleaning a milking system, with an air separator, a rinse reservoir, a suction line that leads from the rinse reservoir to the air separator through a milking station, and a pressure line that leads from the air separator to the rinse reservoir. The top of the air separator communicates with a vacuum line and the bottom communicates with the pressure line through a conveyor pump and with a shut-off valve in the section of the suction line between the rinse reservoir and the milking station. To improve the cleaning effectiveness of the known device and prevent the air separator from getting overloaded, the shut-off valve is remote-controlled and is connected through a control line to controls that are also connected to the conveyor pump and to a level sensor in the air separator through other control lines. The controls close the valve when the pump is on and open it when the pump is off.

Abstract: A birdhouse for purple martins comprising a tubular enclosure having within a plurality of vertically stacked floors secured to at least one vertical partition forming at least two nesting compartments per tier, each compartment having an opening and a perch. Several enclosures are secured together by a hollow post having a vertical series of hooks mounted thereon to correspond to vertical series of brackets mounted to the back of the enclosure. The birdhouses are suspended from a pole high above the ground via a pulley system. The partition and the floors can be removed for easy cleaning by sliding out either the top or bottom of the enclosure. Alternatively, the birdhouse may be constructed by vertically stacking a series of identical interlocking units topped with a roof, wherein the nesting compartments are situated radially about a central opening which is adapted to slide axially onto a mounting sleeve.
