  • Patent number: 4726147
Abstract: A weatherstrip (20) for use with a slideable panel unit having a first panel and second panel, one of the panels being a slideable panel is disclosed. The weatherstrip (20) includes an engaging member (21) having a leading edge (26a-c) and having a first end (21a), a center region (21b) and a second end (21c). An offset member (22) is cooperatively connected to the engaging member (21), wherein when the offset member (22) is connected to one of the panels, the engaging member (21) is in a generally parallel spaced relationship to one of the panels. The leading edge (26b) of the engaging member (21) is in inwardly displaced at the center region (21b) with respect to the leading edge (26a) and (26c) at the ends (21a and c), whereby the inward displaced region (21b) reduces clashing between the panels when one of the panels is bowed.

  • Patent number: 4726148
Abstract: A channel-shaped bracket of polyvinyl chloride having leg portions possessing a durometer value on the order of Shore D90 and hook portions integral with the free edges of the leg portions that have a durometer value on the order of Shore A70 is disclosed. The relatively soft and more flexible hook portions releasably engage ridge hooks extending in a recessed relation along the marginal edges of a jamb liner, the jamb liner also being of polyvinyl chloride with a durometer value on the order of Shore D90. The hook portions, being softer and more flexible than the ridge hooks as indicated above, readily release the jamb liner when a sufficient pull is applied so that the liner can be easily removed from the wooden jamb to which it is attached. The web of the bracket is sufficiently thin such that the bracket can be stapled to the wooden jamb.

  • Patent number: 4726177
Abstract: Apparatus for connecting a grass collector to the discharge chute of a power lawn mower. A lower front portion of a ring around the receiving mouth of the collector is hooked over a detent at the bottom side of the chute and pivoted upwardly until an upper portion of the ring rests in a nest formed by a pair of upper tabs and a lower tab extending outwardly from a pivoted safety door. The door is biased toward a closed position across the discharge opening of the chute, and is opened by a hook extending from an over-center latch, between the upper tabs. The hook extends around the nested upper portion of the ring, and when the latch is manually operated to its closed position the hook pulls against the ring portion to move it and the upper part of the door forwardly. This clamps the collector mouth to the chute, at the same time opening the safety door. The collector cannot be removed until the safety door has been returned to its closed position by manually operating the latch to its open position.

  • Patent number: 4726187
Abstract: A control for the speed of rotation of a hydrostatic machine in which the controlled variable and generated in a speed controller and is made up of a proportional component and an integrating component is limited by a limiting signal which is also made up of a predetermined basic value and a ramp signal behaving proportionally to the actual pivot angle of the hydrostatic machine. The limiting signal thus limits the output signal of the speed controller so that a rapid response behaviour is obtained and fluctuations in the settling to the desired speed are reduced.

  • Patent number: 4726190
Abstract: On actuation, each pressure generator at each of a plurality of locations along a conduit develops a pressure rise in the conduit to energize a pressure sensitive device in fluid communication with the conduit. Each pressure generator includes a bulbous member which expels a quantity of fluid (air) into the conduit when depressed and a valve for segregating the volume defined by the bulbous member from the conduit except when the bulbous member is depressed to minimize dissipation by a nonactuated pressure generator of the pressure rise within the conduit and generated by another actuated pressure generator.

Abstract: A dual fuel injector for a gas turbine power plant has fuel ducting including gas and liquid fuel ducts which can be removed easily for access to a nozzle of the fuel duct. A separate fluid ducting assembly is attached in the head of each combustor can and has an annular duct, a passage and drillings. The power plant is started on liquid fuel, and runs subsequently on gas produced in a coal gasifier. The flow of air through the duct and passage prevents any unburnt fuel or combustion products from entering the gas duct, and the flow through the drillings prevents carbon build up on face of the injector.
