Patent number: 4791713Abstract: A system for fabricating fan blades wherein the assembly includes a flat hub plate having generally radially oriented notches defined therein intersecting the plate periphery. Individual blades each include a hub connection portion adjacent an inner end region which includes parallel flat portions angularly related to the general blade configuration interconnected by a transition portion. The flat blade portions are located upon opposite sides of the hub plate and the transition portion extends through the hub plate notch. The flat portions are attached to the hub plate, and by predetermining the position of the hub connection configuration on the blade, the fan characteristics can be predetermined and accurately duplicated. The system permits a standard set of tools to form a variety of sizes of the fan blade components having various characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Assignee: Airmaster Fan CompanyInventor: Neil E. Patent number: 4791714Abstract: The fly wheel and the ignition coil are set on the set jig with a comparatively large space left therebetween so that the two do not adhere to each other during the placement thereof. After the fly wheel and the ignition coil are placed on the set jig and are delivered to the two holding means of the assembling jig, a large space is maintained between the fly wheel and the ignition coil so that when the fly wheel is turned to be aligned, there is no magnetic force acting between the fly wheel and the ignition coil. Thus, the fly wheel can be easily assembled to the crankshaft. Thereafter, the ignition coil is brought to approach the fly wheel and is assembled to the engine main body where it is located at its normal facing position in relation to the fly wheel.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Teruo Yoshioka, Shoji Nakano, Yutaka Sato

Patent number: 4791715Abstract: A cassette pulley is assembled from a flange part having three assembly pins which are received in corresponding holes of a hub part. The hub part has a number of reinforcing ribs which divide the bottom of the hub part into a number of recesses which are conveniently employed to hold the hub part on a group of hub holding stub shafts during assembly. Because there are more recesses than holding stub shafts, the hub may assume more than one orientation relative to the stub shafts. In order to achieve proper relative orientation of hub and flange, the hub holder is formed with a hole that is aligned with one of the hub holes when the hub is in one of a selected group of orientations. Optical sensing of such alignment enables the flange to be positioned in an orientation appropriate for assembly of the flange pins into the hub holes.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Assignee: Cimco, Inc.Inventor: Benjamin Lovelace

Patent number: 4791753Abstract: Apparatus for capturing birds and other animals may comprise: a pair of carrier poles the proximal ends of which may be anchored to the ground for pivoting from first parallel positions against the ground to second parallel positions against the ground. A semicylindrical net is provided one longitudinal edge of which is affixed along the ground and the other longitudinal edge of which is fixed between the distal ends of the carrier poles so that upon movement of the carrier poles from their first to their second positions the net is deployed in a semicylindrical configuration to envelope animals beneath the net.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Inventor: Richard C. Patent number: 4791754Abstract: A device for assisting the growth of a plant by providing shelter and physical support therefor is taught in the preferred embodiment of a modular construction including a tubular section, a cover, and a collar. The collar provides a gradually curving continuous support to the upper growth portion of the plant for helping to reduce breakage of the plant from bending due to the weight of the plant. In the preferred embodiment, the collar includes arcuate sections of varying radii, with the first arcuate section connected tangentially to the tubular section, with the second arcuate section extending radially outwardly and continuously from the first arcuate section, and with the third arcuate section connected to and extending radially outwardly, downwardly, and continuously from the second arcuate section. An outer rim extends from the third arcuate section for reinforcing the collar.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Inventor: George H. Demars, Jr.

Patent number: 4791755Abstract: A cultivated plant either which blossoms or has only leaves can be provided over a long time interval simultaneously with moisture and a nutrient material without watering. A root ball containing the nutrient material including the roots of the plant is surrounded by a moist material which simultaneously uniformly feeds it and supplies it with moisture. This moist material is advantageously formed from a mixture of swollen and then broken clay pieces and from a plurality of cellular or foamed plastic material pieces which is provided surrounding the root ball in a container for the plant advantageously in the ratio of about 2:1 or 3:1. In this way the plant with the usual earth or humus root ball can be provided with moisture uniformly over a long time interval without requiring that a particular container or plant be used.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1986Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Inventor: Hans-Ulrich Bilstein

Patent number: 4791756Abstract: A latch for a pivotal window sash used in a double-hung window assembly. The latch is mounted internally in a sash frame member with its latch bolt protruding from the sash to engage in the guide rail of the main frame jamb of the window assembly. There is a finger manipulative control button external of the sash frame for releasing the bolt from said guide rail so that the window sash can be pivoted. The latch bolt is mounted under spring tension to maintain the bolt normally in a locked position. The several latch parts including the spring are maintained together in assembly as a unit to thereafter be installed in said window sash.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Assignee: Ashland Products CompanyInventor: Harold Simpson

Patent number: 4791758Abstract: A door frame having a hinged jamb, a strike jamb and a header, each of which is in two parts. One part of each pair has a channel for slidably receiving a lipped segment of the other part. A lipped cover on the first part engages the lipped segment of the second part to limit movement of the two parts relative to one another. A biasing means on the first part urges the two parts against one another. The biasing means is rigidly affixed to the first part and extends across the channel to leave a small gap through which the lipped segment of the first part can be rotatably inserted.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Assignee: Windor Manufacturing Ltd.Inventors: Gunther H.
