Abstract: A sealant composition comprises a functionalized polymer component which is prepared by grafting enough carboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid, or derivative thereof onto a polymer component to thereby functionalize the polymer component and provide a resultant sealant composition with adhesive which is resistant to deterioration in the presence of water, said polymer component comprising a multiblock copolymer having at least two end blocks A and at least one midblock B, wherein the A blocks comprise monoalkenyl arene blocks and the B blocks comprise substantially completely hydrogenated conjugated diene polymer blocks.
Abstract: This invention is directed to a flexible and resilient ice pack wrap used in cold therapy to relieve pain, swelling and edema to the user. The appliance comprises a rectangular or polyganol shaped polymer pack filled with a hydrophilic liquid coolant. The ice pack and contained coolant exhibits (a) flexibility, (b) pliability, and (c) complete contouring when applied to one's affected body surface.
Abstract: Photosensitive materials which have a high speed and which exhibit little pressure desensitization and pressure fogging are obtained by means of this invention.
Abstract: This is an improved process of making consolidated propellant charges by compaction of propellant grains in a mold. The grains are coated with a frangible micro-capsule prior to compaction. The inner phase of the microcapsules is a low volatile solvent for the grains.
Abstract: Precooked food products, especially meat products, which have been unpackaged and further processed, are repackaged in a heat tolerant structure and exposed to temperatures of between about 160.degree. F. and 205.degree. F. for 30 seconds to 10 minutes, time and temperature depending on the particular product. This post pasteurization treatment extends the shelf life of the product.
Abstract: A new sub-micron bipolar transistor structure is proposed which utilizes narrow horizontal conducting layers between the edges of the active areas and the associated metal contacts. This structure allows the formation of a completely vertical transistor structure and eliminates the need for the extended buried collector and collector reach-through diffusion regions.

Abstract: The improvement of providing a shearing force to bundles of woodpulp to physically break apart the same into component parts simultaneously with nitration of said woodpulp in a tank containing nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and water.
Abstract: The temperature of heated exhaust gases from a gas turbine is increased to value sufficient to vaporize fog oil to form smoke. The turbine itself is unmodified and requires no bleed air control valve at the air inlet to the compressor to regulate exhaust gas temperature.

Abstract: A polymer blend of a polyarylate with a minor amount of a segmented polyesteramide is useful as a molding composition, with improved impact strength and elongation.
Abstract: A method and apparatus exploiting the discovery that the cross-correlation of rows of Frank or P4 matrices of a given spacing sum to zero. In a ranging system, such as a radar, pulses are coded according to the rows of a Frank or P4 matrix, transmitted sequentially and each return processed sequentially through a filter matched to one of the coded pulses. (A different preselected filter is used for each return.) The sequence of filters is chosen so that for returns for a given range interval, each filter is matched to the returning pulse, resulting in outputs from the filters representing auto-correlations of the returned pulses. These outputs are time delayed added coherently to form the compressed pulse, and annunciated as a target hit. Should the filters and returns be mismatched, as with ambiguous stationary clutter returns, the outputs of the filters are cross-correlations which, according to said discovery, sum to zero.
