Patent number: 5325598Abstract: A bowstring mounted peep sight is disclosed having a peep housing that is frictionally located between displaced bowstring filaments. The peep housing defines a peep hole and a transverse oriented receiving slot. Insertable aperture reducing discs are slidably inserted into the receiving slot to incrementally decrease the relative aperture of the peep hole. To prevent the inserts from being inadvertently dislodged from the receiving slot during use of the invention, one of the displaced bowstring elements is positioned so as to prevent the disc from sliding outwardly therefrom. Because of the design of the peep housing, lightweight materials can be utilized. Frusto conical recesses on both planar surfaces of the peep housing reduce incidental glare thereby increasing the clarity of the observed target.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Inventors: David D. Hall, Garret Hull

Patent number: 5325600Abstract: The present invention features a UV tube detector for sensing a resonant arcing condition in a microwave environment. Where clothing or fabric is being dried in a magnetron-powered, microwave chamber, the UV tube detector is placed in proximity to the fabric. The UV tube detector senses a possible resonant arcing condition related to small metal objects hidden in the material. Upon the sensing of arcing, tile UV tube provides a signal for shutting down the magnetron power. In conjunction with UV detection, the moisture condition can be monitored during the drying cycle. At a point in the microwave heating cycle consistent with an "end of microwave heating cycle" or "near dryness", the power output of the magnetrons is reduced or terminated. The moist fabric can then be dried via reduced microwave heating and/or by normal heating methods, including, but not limited to, electrical radiant heating and convection techniques.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Micro Dry, Inc.Inventor: Philip J. Patent number: 5325601Abstract: A method and apparatus for drying and curing a coating which as been applied in liquid form to a metal substrate. The process and apparatus include a precuring or drying of the coating by rapidly heating the sheet in an electromagnetic induction coil to volatilize solvents in the coating. The precured sheets are then immediately conveyed to a conventional convection oven for further heating the sheets by baking the sheets at a temperature and for a duration in accordance with the drying and curing specifications of the coating manufacturer. The induction coil is designed to heat the sheet metal in a narrow transverse band as the sheet moves through the induction coil. The power supply to the induction circuit is designed to permit the induction coil to be turned on under varying load.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1993Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Alltrista CorporationInventors: Donald L. Patent number: 5325626Abstract: A device for the eradication of fire ants includes a reservoir for the introduction of liquid insecticide, a conduit that transports liquid insecticide from the reservoir to a dispersion manifold, and a pointed tip to facilitate pushing the device into the ground. The manifold has a main passage in fluid communication with the interior of the conduit and a plurality of lateral holes in communication with the main passage that lead to the exterior surface of the manifold. The exterior surface of the manifold has an annular channel where the holes emerge from the manifold to space the holes apart from the dirt of the wall of the bore hole formed as the device is pushed into the ground. This gap helps to keep the holes free of dirt and soil particles so the pesticide can flow freely from the device. Each stud has a flange surface (the narrow-edge surface of the stud) which is substantially coplanar with the flange surface of the other stud. A pair of upright members is interposed between the studs and each upright member includes a lip extending generally parallel to a stud flange surface. Several spring clips are attached to each lip and each clip includes an opening receiving a panel edge. Panels are thereby retained by the clips on the upright members.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1993Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: T. J. Hale CompanyInventor: J. Reed Felton

Patent number: 5325642Abstract: A Geodesic Hazardous Waste Containment Building provides a means for the long term isolation of toxic waste from the environment. The invention comprises a primary containment sphere, a surrounding secondary containment sphere and a means for protecting the contents of the building from natural disaster, specifically earthquake. The invention includes all of the advantages of geodesic construction providing the opportunity for cost-effective, modular construction with inexpensive building materials such as concrete. The invention further provides a double barrier of protection from environmental contamination. The invention also makes possible easy inspection for leaks and a means of controlling and containing leaks should they occur.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Inventor: Warren L. Cooley

Patent number: 5325643Abstract: The present invention is a soil retainer block formed of lightweight, flexible, and durable material used to prevent soil and water from seeping under a foundation supported above the underlying soil by piers. In use, the present invention is placed about a foundation and then covered with top soil to form a barrier which prevents soil and water invasion. The present invention is constructed of the lightweight, flexible, and durable material in order to provide superior moisture resistance, impact resistance, and safe and easy installation.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Inventors: William F. Patent number: 5325644Abstract: A concrete form and a pool wall and deck support system is disclosed. The pool wall may be formed of steel, plastic, aluminum or wood and has a plurality of wall panels secured together in end-to-end relation to define the perimeter of the structure. Wall supports or brace structures fabricated from non-compressible material such as concrete are attached to, and support both the wall of the pool and the perimeter deck therearound. The pool wall, coping and deck are supported by the top of the concrete brace structure. In a preferred embodiment, the brace structure is fabricated from pairs of nestable forms made from a suitable material such as corrugated cardboard and are located beside the pool walls, reinforcing bars are attached to the pool walls and interconnect the latter with the walls and the forms are filled with concrete and are so structured as to have the concrete engage the flanges of the pool wall panels.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Inventor: Kerry J. Patent number: 5325645Abstract: A `log` home is formed by horizontal structural members that are notched at the intersection to form a corner. Springs are inserted in the notch to bias two surfaces of the adjacent logs into engagement so that expansion and contraction are accomodated on the opposite sides of the notch.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1991Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: True North Log HomesInventor: Ronald A. Patent number: 5325646Abstract: A cover for tank is formed from a plurality of panels attached together by cross members. The cover includes means for sealing the panels to the cross members, and means for sealing the panels and the cross members to the tank. The panels are constructed from a multiplicity of edge-to-edge planks. The planks may be connected together without welds, and the panels may be connected to the cross members without welds. The cover may be in the shape of an arch, or the shape of a dome. In another embodiment a dome-shaped cover may be formed from a plurality of panels each having the shape of a section of a circle. Each panel is connected between an adjacent pair of a plurality of radial members arranged in a radial pattern.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Hallsten Supply Co.Inventors: Jeffrey A. Patent number: 5325647Abstract: The present invention relates to ceiling grid runners and associated assembly details that utilize metal reinforcement of thermoplastic compounds in order to obtain the necessary stiffness required to meet load/deflection standards for suspended ceiling systems. The metal is strategically positioned at the areas of highest stress, the top and bottom of the runner cross-section in what is analogous to the bulb and flange of traditional all metal grid.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Armstrong World Industries, Inc.Inventors: John S.
