  • Patent number: 5341542
Abstract: An anti-tip hinge device for a door or a shelf, which is pivotally moved to obtain a horizontal cantilever position. The hinge device has a channel which fits into a sheath of and is connected to the door or shelf. A lever arm carries cam followers which engage a cam in the channel. The cam is supported in the channel by a pin and a spring located on opposite ends of the cam. The cam has a recess and a ramp disposed adjacent to the recess. When an overload is applied to the cantilever end of the door or shelf, the cam followers are disengaged from the recess of the cam, and push the cam inwardly within the channel at an angle to allow the door or shelf to be titled downwardly below the horizontal. This action interrupts the counterbalance spring effect on the door. A pin-hole arrangement resets the hinge device, and a lug-slot arrangement prevents the door from disengaging the hinge device.

  • Patent number: 5341544
Abstract: A fastener assembly for detachably connecting a molded door trim panel to an apertured inner door panel of a vehicle, where upon disassembly, the fastener assembly will disengage, or a replaceable portion will fracture without damaging the molded door trim panel. A detent is utilized to connect a hook portion to a retainer housing that is molded into the molded door trim panel. Upon the hook portion being mistakenly pulled against the inner door panel during disassembly, the detent will either disengage the hook portion from the retainer housing, or the hook portion will fracture before the retainer housing is damaged or disconnected from the molded door trim panel. By preventing damage to the retainer housing and molded door trim panel, only the hook portion of the hook fastener assembly need be replaced or reconnected, instead of the entire molded door trim panel.

  • Patent number: 5341547
Abstract: A thermoplastic film stretching apparatus includes a first and a second separate transport chain system including the respective guide tracks and tentering clamps. The tentering clamps are guided without the conventional chain plate connections. The first chain transport system performs the tentering clamp transport from the inlet of the system to the setting zone of the system, where the tentering clamps are released by the first transport chain system and taken over by the second transport chain system. The transport of the tentering clamps by the second system through the setting zone, the cooling zone, and along the way to the outlet zone of the film stretcher, takes place with a smaller transport speed than that of the first transport system. The speed difference between the first and second transport chains is the measure for the film shrinkage to be imposed onto the thermoplastic film.

  • Patent number: 5341577
Abstract: Carbon black is introduced into a granulating machine 3 through an inlet 1 and water is introduced into the same through an inlet 2 to prepare granulated carbon black, which is fed to a cylindrical rotary type dryer 5 through a line 4 and is dried. A product of carbon black is discharged through a line 6. Temperature in the dryer 5 is measured by a plurality of thermometers 10. A combustion control device performs the arithmetical processing of temperature data to obtain the initial point at which the state of the carbon black is changed from the constant rate of drying to the falling rate of drying. The control device controls each flow rate of fuel supplied from each line 7 or 8 to burners 9 for the front and rear half portions of the dryer by using the critical point and the temperature of the carbon black at the outlet of the dryer, whereby a temperature profile for the carbon black in the dryer 5 can be made stable for a long time.

Abstract: A pulsed airflow generating mechanism for a blower dryer includes an elongated shaft, a stationary disc, a housing, and a spinning disc. The stationary disc is disposed over the shaft and has at least one port radially spaced from the shaft. The housing defines an elongated passageway for guiding a constant airflow therethrough. The housing rotatably mounts the shaft and stationarily mounts the disc relative to the shaft. The spinning disc is disposed over and connected to the shaft for rotation therewith relative to housing and the stationary disc. The spinning disc is located upstream of the stationary disc relative to the direction of airflow. The spinning disc has at least one aperture radially spaced from the shaft for moving intermittently into and out of registry with the port of the stationary disc to convert the constant airflow received by housing passageway into a pulsating airflow discharged from the housing passageway as the spinning disc is rotated relative to the stationary disc.
