Patent number: RE36608Abstract: Apparatus for providing a movable upright registration pin extending above a horizontal work surface for locating workpieces on the tooling plate of a computer controlled drilling machine. A straight edge member, disposed in a channel in the surface of the tooling plate, provides two vertical reference surfaces which are precisely located to define a line of position for the registration pin. The registration pin is maintained upright in a carrier that is slidably disposed in a channel in the straight edge member between the two reference surfaces. The rotation of a cam bar disposed adjacent the carrier applies force to the carrier which causes the registration pin to bear against the two vertical reference surfaces to precisely and securely locate the pin on the line of position. The registration pin may be pushed by the spindle of the drilling machine along the line of position and then locked in the registration position under the automatic control of the drilling machine.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1997Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Excellon Automation CoInventors: W. Patent number: RE36612Abstract: Mash seam welding process and apparatus, wherein two plate-like workpieces having different thickness values are fed and guided by a guiding device such that a length W.sub.H of contact of the thick plate-like workpiece with one of two roller electrodes is smaller than a length W.sub.M of contact of the thin plate-like workpiece with the other roller electrode. In this arrangement, the amount of mashing of the thick plate-like workpiece by the roller electrode is made larger than that of the thin plate-like workpiece by the other roller electrode, so that an interface of the two plate-like workpieces is positioned intermediate between the pair of roller electrodes, whereby a weld nugget formed intermediate between the roller electrodes extends across the interface, permitting the weld to have a sufficient strength owing to a nugget ratio, which is a ratio of a width dimension W.sub.N of the weld nugget in the direction of the interface to a width dimension W.sub.G of the interface.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1999Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshihiro Fukushima, Masaki Tanzawa

Patent number: 6035454Abstract: A toilet seat or lid closing device includes a housing having an inner wall. A shaft assembly includes a shaft, movable between first and second rotary orientations. A first part of the shaft assembly is housed within the housing, and includes an outwardly extending blade, having first and second faces, extending outwardly to an outer edge. A portion of the inner wall of the housing and the outer edge of the blade define a variable-thickness gap therebetween as the shaft assembly moves between the first and second rotary orientations. Several openings extend through the blade, the openings covered on one side of the blade with a flexible material to create check valves. The check valves permit relatively free fluid flow through the opening, thus bypassing the blade, when the seat or lid is lifted but at least substantially prevents fluid flow through the openings when the seat or lid is lowered.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1999Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Inventor: Thomas D. Patent number: 6035455Abstract: The portable power plunger is for unclogging blocked drains in sinks, toilets, bath tubs and the like. The plunger has a main body having a reciprocating pump with a removable attachment mounted at its outlet lower end which is adapted to cover intimately over the waste water drain of a sink, toilet, or bath tub. The drain may be unclogged by operating the pump to dislodge the blockage and to dispose of it down the sewer. The pump is provided with a substantial back flow preventor such that the dirty water in the drain would not back into the pump to contaminate the latter. An integral injector pipe is also provided on the plunger. The injector pipe extends into an interior compartment at the lower part of the housing between the back flow preventor and the outlet, and it is attached to a pneumatic pressure source or pressurized water supply. The pneumatic pressure or pressurized water provides additional pressure to unclog the blockage in the drain or for drawing dirty water out from the drain.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1999Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Jake BielasInventor: Radoslav Sasha Rankovic
