  • Patent number: 6128975
Abstract: Adjustable pliers for a constant tension hose clamp include a pair of arms pivotally connected together at intermediate portions of the arms. Each arm has a handle portion and a gripping portion, and the gripping portions have opposed ends that are spaced apart a predetermined distance. Each end has a grasping element, with each grasping element adapted to hold one actuating member of the hose clamp. This enables the hose clamp to be held by the grasping elements between the gripping portions to enlarge the diameter of the hose clamp by pressing the handle portions together. One of the arms has two separate sections, a gripper section and a handle section. These sections are rigidly connected together by an adjustable rod mechanism that enables the two sections to be moved relative to each other to change the angular relationship between the two sections by adjustment of the rod mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6128985
Abstract: The machine tool includes a workpiece-holding spindle consisting of a slide capable of being moved along the X-axis perpendicular to the main axis of rotation of the machine. The slide is moved via a tie-rod, actuated at one end by a numerical axis and having at the other end an oblique projection fitted in an oblique hole in the slide. Movement of the tie-rod along the Z-axis therefore causes movement of the slide, hence of the workpiece, along the X-axis. Provision is made for counterbalancing the rotating spindle. The machine tool is thus capable of machining parts having eccentric shoulders.

  • Patent number: 6128987
Abstract: A hydraulic press has closed loop feedback control on a slide, a slide pad and bolster cylinders. Hydraulic cylinders actuating various components of the press are controlled according to ideal position estimates to produce consistent and precise pressing action. A closed loop control consists of an ideal position/pressure value generator, a position/pressure detector and an arithmetic unit comparing the ideal and actual position/pressure values. Using the ideal and actual comparison result, the arithmetic unit produces a control signal to drive a cylinder to a desired position/pressure. The hydraulic press is capable of performing several operations on a workpiece in one press cycle, an improvement over presses requiring several operation steps or die changes. The bolster cylinders augment clamping force, reduce shock, and improve die alignment to produce better results with less wear on press components.

  • Patent number: 6129007
Abstract: An electric automatic pop-up toaster has a carriage and a pivotably connected manually operative arm for moving the carriage to a lowermost position for toasting in well-known manner. At the beginning of each toasting cycle, the arm is horizontal and a latching plate is magnetically held down to hold the arm and the carriage in a lowermost position. The arm presses against a wire spring to hold closed a power switch (not shown) that supplies power to heating elements of the toaster. The latching plate is (magnetically) released at the end of each toasting cycle by a timer. This allows the carriage to move upwards to pop-up toasted bread in a usual way. However should the carriage fail to move upwards when the latching plate is released, the arm is pivoted by a spring and tilted to the position shown in the Figure. The wire is therefore released and enters a slot in a bracket mounted to the carriage. The switch opens and remains open to prevent power being re-instated to the heating elements.

Steam is added to the wetted material in the next zone (34) to form a heated wetted cereal material which is worked in the fourth zone (34) to form a heated precooked non-continuous cereal compacted dough material which is generally maintained below its gelatinization point.

  • Patent number: 6129011
Abstract: A paper calender has a stack of rolls arranged one above the other. They form an upper stack and a lower stack with a common center roll. Additional center rolls are carried on levers that are capable of pivoting about axes fixed with respect to the frame, and are capable of being placed under load by devices applying force. These devices should be designed to be powerful enough to be capable of compensating for more than the total weight of the associated roll and the parts connected to it. As a result of the various possible settings for the line load, the finishing of the paper can be improved. A method is provided for operating a paper calender having an upper stack of rolls and a lower stack of rolls positioned below the upper stack. Each stack is individually capable of being placed under load by upper and lower force generators.

Abstract: The doctor portion of the ink cup of a pad printing machine is formed of a polymeric composite which has high compressive strength and high resistance to chemicals, notably to printing inks. The polymeric doctoring portion is tapered and defines a narrow distal end surface which circumscribes the open end of the cup for doctoring engagement with an opposed plastic gravure surface. The doctoring portion may be a separate ring element suitably mounted at the open end of the cup body or it may be a unitary part of the cup.

  • Patent number: 6129013
Abstract: A stencil printer of the present invention includes at least one ink drum for wrapping a master around its outer periphery. An ink feed device feeds ink to the master wrapped around the ink drum. A pressing member is movable into and out of contact with the ink drum at a position where it faces the ink feed device. An image is printed on a paper fed from a paper feed section at a print section where the ink drum and pressing member face each other. A belt conveyor includes a belt extending between the paper feed section located upstream of the print section in the direction of paper conveyance and a paper discharge section located downstream of the print section in the same direction through the print section. The belt conveys the paper fed from the paper feed section while causing it to electrostatically adhere thereto. The paper is sufficiently electrostatically adhered to the belt before it reaches the print section, so that air suction, an air knife, a separator or the like is not necessary.

Abstract: An apparatus for printing paste onto a surface of a printed circuit board through a screen having openings therein. The apparatus comprises a holder for holding the screen (5) horizontally in position, a vertically movable printing table (3) carrying the board (4) thereon a mechanically drivable squeegee device (1) for filling paste into openings (7) in the screen as the surface of the board is in contact with a lower surface of the screen (5), a drive for moving the printing table between a lower position, a raised printing position where printing of the board occurs and a higher third position higher than the printing position. The printing table (3) acts to push the screen upwardly, as it is raised from the printing position, so as to cause the screen to be elastically deformed into a substantially arcuate form so that the screen and the board are substantially separated from each other and printed paste deposits (8) are left on the board at the higher third position.
