Abstract: A bib and dish combination device has a bib that preferably has an opening that is designed to accommodate a wearer's neck and to prevent food or beverage from touching a wearer's clothes as the wearer is eating or drinking. The lower end of the bib is preferably intended to engage a dish that is temporarily attached to a high chair tray or table, such as through suction cups or the like. The bib can be attached to the dish in a variety of different ways such that any food or drink that contacts the bib will roll off the bib and into the dish in order to prevent the spillage from falling into the wearer's lap. Further, the length of the bib retained within the device can be varied to accommodate any size individual.

Abstract: According to the invention, a metal salt and an oxygen source are applied to penetrate or impregnate a suitable substrate sequentially in effective amounts so as to react in contact with the substrate and produce a mineral compound fixed within the surface of the substrate. The inventive combination of a mutually compatible metal salt, oxygen source, and substrate brings about an in situ reaction, and modifies the substrate to bring about a lasting desired effect. The mineral compound that is produced according to the invention is linked to the substrate, is stable and long-lasting or permanent, and is immobilized or insolubilized in the substrate. The mineral compound is bound or contained within and on the surface of the substrate, so it may be said to be ingrained in the fibers or matrix of the substrate, or embedded within the substrate. The desired effect is preferably a color. A wide variety of metal salts may be used depending on the desired effect.

Abstract: A carbon dioxide dry cleaning system features a pair of liquid carbon dioxide storage tanks in communication with a compressor. A sealed cleaning chamber contains the objects to be cleaned. By selectively pressurizing the storage tanks with the compressor, liquid carbon dioxide is made to flow to the cleaning chamber through cleaning nozzles so as to provide agitation of the objects being dry cleaned. Liquid carbon dioxide displaced from the cleaning chamber returns to the storage tanks. In an alternative embodiment, a single storage tank is pressurized via a compressor with gas from the cleaning chamber so that liquid solvent from the storage tank travels to the cleaning chamber through nozzles. The objects in the cleaning chamber are agitated by a rotating basket. After a prewash cycle, liquid solvent from the cleaning chamber is directed to a still. The liquid solvent in the still is boiled through a connection with the head space of the cleaning chamber.

Abstract: In a multi-processor system, each processor has a respective hard affinity queue and soft affinity queue. For execution of a thread, a queue loader places an instance of the thread upon the hard or soft affinity queue of a selected processor. The selection may use an affinity attribute, processor attribute, accessor function, or a respective program of code threads for each processor. A thread instance on a processor's hard affinity queue is executed only by that processor. A thread instance on a processor's soft affinity queue is executed by that processor unless another processor has a soft affinity queue empty of thread instances ready for execution. Each processor alternates service priority between its hard and soft affinity queues. When a thread has a soft affinity it is initially bound to the processor it is started from. It will, then, be bound to the last processor it has been run on.

A wire chuck is disposed so as to opposing to the rear part of the press blade. The wire chuck is horizontally movable along a horizontal guide to a side of the press blade so as to holding the wire. Alternatively, the connector retaining bar is fixed to the apparatus by a frame and a transfer mechanism can carry the press-fitting unit along the bar in a horizontal direction. In addition, the apparatus may have a pair or two pairs of the upper and lower symmetrical press-fitting units; and the connector retaining bar is disposed between the upper and lower press-fitting units.

Abstract: The present invention is a hand-held stripping tool. The tool is adapted for cutting an outer sheath of a first electrical cable. Inside the sheath is parallel spaced apart insulation covered wires and a core member containing an uncovered ground wire between the insulation covered wires. The sheath has spaced apart curved sides conforming to the covered wires. The tool has spaced apart first and second jaw members adapted to be pressed together. The jaw members have cutting edges that receive a portion of the first cable along its length. The cutting edges define an opening configured to cut the sheath and the core without significantly cutting the insulation on the wires or the unsheathed ground wire when the jaw members are pressed together to form the opening. The portion of the sheath is then removed in one continuous process.

Abstract: The present invention provides a knife with a replaceable blade which is spring-biased in the retracted position. The knife is designed such that the blade can only be extended by exerting a downward force and by turning the handle with respect to an inner housing. The handle has a tab affixed to the inside wall of the handle. The inner housing has an angled slot in its wall adapted to receive the tab. When the blade is fully retracted, the tab rests on the shoulder at the top of the inner housing. A straight downward pressure on the handle causes the tab to engage the shoulder and will not allow the blade to extend. When the handle is rotated, the tab enters the slot and the blade is forced downward. As this occurs, the blade extends through a slot at the bottom of a blade cover. When the blade is removed from the object to be cut, the spring forces the handle to move with respect to the inner housing and causes the blade to retract within the blade cover.

Abstract: A multipurpose folding tool (30, 280) including a pair of folding scissors (32), in which scissors blades (80, 82) are movable about pivot shafts (78), between a stowed position and a deployed position in the handles (34, 36). A rocker (94, 96) is moved by a spring (106) in the tool handle and in turn urges a scissors blade toward an open position. In one embodiment four springs (104, 106) hold the handles together with the folded scissors stowed within the handles. When the scissors and other tools are folded into their stowed positions in the handle of the multipurpose tool of the invention the tool has a smooth outside configuration allowing the tool to be carried in a pocket without causing undue wear. A handle (34 or 36) may be constructed as a sheet metal channel or a handle (282, 284, 382, 384) in two pieces at least one of which includes a perpendicular flange taking the place of a channel bottom portion so that each blade or tool bit may be accompanied by a separate spring (318, 418, 420).
