Publication number: 20020026663Abstract: A protective garment of the type typically worn by fire fighters with improved water resistance is disclosed. In particular, the present invention is directed to an outer shell material for protective garments that is made from a fire resistant material coated with a durable water resistant coating. The durable water resistant coating is applied to the outer shell in a manner so that the coating will not degrade when exposed to normal wear and tear and even after the garment has been laundered repeatedly. Protective garments constructed in the past typically lost most of their water repellency after being laundered as little as five cycles. It has been discovered that water resistant coatings applied according to the process of the present invention, on the other hand, can survive at least 30 laundry cycles, and in many applications at least 50 laundry cycles without significantly degrading.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventors: Joey K. Publication number: 20020026667Abstract: A manual lifting aid for assisting persons up from a seated or lying position is disclosed, where the lifting aid has a seat portion and a lifting strap. The lifting strap is attached to the bottom of the seat portion such that it extends the entire length of the seat portion and the ends of the lifting strap extend beyond the tapered ends of the seat portion. The lifting aid is used by positioning the seat portion under the buttocks of the person to be lifted, grasping the handles at the ends of the lifting strap, and exerting upward pressure by pulling up on the handles. The lifting strap is of a sufficient length that it permits the user(s) to stand erect, or nearly erect, at the time they exert upward pressure to raise the person or object to be lifted. Stress on the lower back is therefore reduced because the user(s) no longer have to bend at the waist while trying to lift upward.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventor: Timothy A. Publication number: 20020026670Abstract: An infant blanket/towel is provided having one or more teething elements and/or pacifiers attached thereto. The invention is conveniently used by draping the blanket/towel across the infant's chest and stomach and initially providing one of the teething or pacifier elements into the infant's grasp. When and if the infant drops the teething or pacifier element, the element does not fall to the floor or otherwise out of the infant's reach. Because the blanket/towel generally remains draped across the infant, the pacifier or teething element merely slips down onto the infant's chest. By the infant's natural tendency to grip the blanket/towel and thrust the blanket/towel into its mouth, the infant frequently can relocate the pacifier or teething element and re-position it into its mouth.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventors: Steven Dunn, Jennifer Fine

Publication number: 20020026701Abstract: The device (1) for replacing toothed belt pulleys (61) on motor vehicle engines (65) includes a pull-off disk (2), which is provided with at least two tie rods (7, 8, 9, 10). To pull off the toothed belt pulley (61), the tie rods (7, 8, 9, 10) can be engaged with at least two openings (57, 58, 59, 60) of the toothed belt pulley (61) in an axially firmly seated manner. The pull-off disk (2) is provided with a central threaded hole, into which a spindle drive, by which the toothed belt pulley (61) can be pulled off from its seating via of the pull-off disk (2) engaging the toothed belt pulley (61), can be inserted. To simplify handling as much as possible, a wrench can be attached to the fastening screw connection (66) of the toothed belt pulley (61) through the threaded hole.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventor: Horst Klann

Publication number: 20020026702Abstract: Attachment devices are taught that preferably include a coupling portion adapted to couple to an attachment portion of the accessory member and adapted to be received within a mounting hole formed in a panel, and a base portion connected to the coupling portion. The coupling portion is adapted to partially engage an upper surface of the panel along the periphery of the mounting hole when the coupling portion is inserted into and selectively rotated within the mounting hole. Thus, the attachment device is attached to the panel with the panel interleaved between the coupling portion and the base portion. Such attachment devices are preferably utilized to attach a vehicle accessory to a vehicle panel, although other uses of the present attachment devices are naturally contemplated.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventor: Takashi Asai

Publication number: 20020026703Abstract: The present invention provides a method for mounting parts, and an IC card and its manufacturing method, capable of reducing the number of steps, increasing productivity, reducing in costs, and miniaturizing the chip. For this purpose, in the present invention, a first electrode (7a) of the IC chip (4) for processing signals received from a coil (3) is connected to an internal end (3b) of a coil pattern (2) formed on a first substrate (1a), and an external end (3a) of the coil pattern (2) and a second electrode (7b) of the IC chip (4) are connected via a jumper wiring means (8).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Applicant: MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.Inventors: Mitsumasa Oku, Takashi Akiguchi, Shinji Murakami, Yutaka Harada, Norihito Tsukahara, Mitsunori Yokomakura, Kenichi Sato

Publication number: 20020026704Abstract: A process of forming a two-piece pole for an inductive write head involves first forming a first pole piece having a width between opposite side surfaces defining a gap width of a transducing gap at an air bearing surface of the head. The process next involves forming a second pole piece having a first region remote from the air bearing surface and a second region extending from the first region toward the air bearing surface. The first region is wider than the width of the first pole piece. The second pole piece is formed so that at least a portion of the second region is contiguous a portion of the first pole piece and so that no sharp external corners exist between the first pole tip piece and the second pole piece within a pole tip region of the head.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventors: Frank E. Publication number: 20020026705Abstract: In the present invention a second pole yoke component of a second pole piece is connected (stitched) to a small top surface of a second pole tip component of the second pole piece as well as to a back edge and first and second side edges of the second pole tip component. The extra stitching at the back and side edges provides the required magnetic coupling between the components for transferring flux to and from a second pole tip at an air bearing surface. This arrangement shortens the length of the top stitched area so that one or more coil layers in an insulation stack can be located closer to the ABS for increasing the data rate of the head. Further, this arrangement reduces the amount of material of the second pole piece layer in close proximity to the first pole piece layer so as to minimize flux leakage therebetween.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 17, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Inventor: Hugo Alberto Emilio Santini
