Abstract: A plastic sheath cutting and slitting hand tool for cutting and slitting a cable sheath of a cable includes a generally flat, elongated body; a handle portion adapted to be grasped by the hand; a tool portion extending outwardly from the handle portion and exposing a sheath scoring blade for scoring a plastic sheath to a controlled depth less than a nominal thickness of the sheath; and, a generally flat sheath engaging and slitting edge including a sheath slitter for engaging, spreading and slitting the plastic sheath lengthwise when the handle portion is grasped and drawn along the sheathed body from a cut of the sheath made by the sheath cutting blade.

Abstract: This invention describes a hand operated, end cutting, sheet metal shear that makes cuts perpendicular to the axis of the tool handle. The shearing surfaces consist of a moving shear blade with a fixed rake angle and shear angle, cutting along a blunt anvil. The shear blade is pivotally mounted to the tool body and actuated by a toggle linkage and a movable handle. A stroke adjustment screw is incorporated into the fixed handle.

Abstract: Cutting and blending scissors for hair is made of a pair of cutting blades held in rotating connection by a self locking nut. One of the blades including a cutting surface on one end and a finger hold on the other. The blade further includes a serrated blending area with a plurality of closely spaced teeth. The second blade also includes a cutting surface on one end and another finger hold on the other. The combination of blades and serrated portion allows the tips of the hair to be blended when cut, thus giving a smooth cut without any additional effort on the part of the operator.

Abstract: A cutting head for a rotary flail retains a coil portion of a cutting line on a spool, and feeds a portion of an excess of the cutting line to the spool to adjust the coil portion and thereby restore a length of the distal portion of the cutting line to maintain a cutting circle of desired size. The distal portion of the cutting line is extended by locating the coil portion such that a centrifugal force arising from rotation of the distal portion overcomes a drag force on the coil portion to unwind a precise amount of the coil portion from the spool. A magazine stores the excess of the cutting line, disposed in a helical path defining a helix having an axis which generally coincides with the axis of the spool. The cutting head has no moving parts, high storage capacity and multiple independent automatic line capability.

Abstract: The invention relates to a spoon for receiving soft or liquid food. Said spoon has a handle with an attached mouthpiece constructed of soft and flexible material. The aim of the invention is to significantly simplify the manner in which food is received by small children and people with facial paralysis. The spoon has a practical shape in that the mouthpiece is trough-shaped and concave and has a level defining upper edge, whereby the thickness of the mouthpiece in the front and on the lateral side is proportional so that its concave shape can be inverted by the pressure of the tongue (Z) during swallowing and the mouthpiece can adapt to the arched shape of the hard palate (G) in a sagital and transversal direction.

Abstract: A reciprocating saw, such as a compass (jigsaw) saw or similar saw, has a blade clamp for securely clamping blades having different dimensions. The clamp has a blade seat with bearing surfaces for at least two adjacent, axially extending surfaces of the saw blade shank, and a stop surface for the rear end of the blade shank. A hand-operable clamping element is mounted on the blade seat and is pivotal about an axis between a releasing position and a clamping position. A spiral clamping surface is formed on the clamping element and has a constant opening angle. Through the use of a spiral clamping element with a constant opening angle, the clamping element maintains the same clamping angle with saw blade shanks of varying dimensions.

Abstract: Apparatus for opening a can includes an upwardly extending guide column, an upper platform assembly which includes an upper platform slidably mounted to the column for guided movement along the column, and a counterbalance mechanism connected to the upper platform for neutralizing the weight of the upper platform assembly. As well, the upper platform assembly includes a cutting mechanism carried by the upper platform for opening the can when the can is aligned beneath the upper platform in a can opening position. The cutting mechanism includes a rotatable circular cutting blade for cutting a seam wall of a rim of the can, and a rotatable traction wheel.

Abstract: A disposable razor unit having a razor head is assembled with a handle. The handle has attachment means comprising at least one prong which extends outward from the handle. The prong has a tooth on the underside of the end opposite the handle. The razor head has a chamber which receives the attachment means of the handle when the razor head and the handle are fastened together. The chamber has a clearance slot and a locking shoulder at its innermost, central point into which the tooth of the prong fits to fasten the razor head and handle together. The fit between the handle and the razor head is such that the razor head may be removed by a forward force exerted on the top of the chamber by the user, however the fit is sufficient that the handle and the razor head will not become separated by normal forces encountered during shaving.

Abstract: A safety razor is disclosed. In this razor, the head of the handle allows a blade cartridge to move on the curved skin while being smoothly, sensitively and elastically rotated around the hinged points. The razor is also provided with separate elastic biasing members for respectively allowing the desired elastic swinging action of the blade cartridge relative to the head and allowing an easy attachment or removal of the blade cartridge relative to the head. In the safety razor, the hinged points of the cartridge are positioned at the front end of the head at a position below the central axis of the cartridge, thus allowing the cartridge to be rotatable backward around the hinged points at an enlarged swing angle when a user unconsciously and excessively presses the cartridge against the skin while shaving.

Abstract: A chalk line is provided with an adjustable clip that is adapted for positive gripping connection to an edge for drawing the chalk coated string line across the board. The adjustable clip includes a pair of opposing gripping jaws that are spring biased closed and manually operable for clipping onto the edge of the board. The clip also includes a hook and eyelet for alternate use as a conventional chalk line.

Abstract: A unit type linear scale is provided, which has a frame body that houses a plate-shaped main scale and extends in a direction of length measurement. The frame body is fixed with screws at multiple positions to an object of measurement through screw holes formed at a plurality of positions along the direction of length measurement. A groove is formed in the frame and extended in the direction of length measurement, and one surface of the main scale is made to contact with the wall surface of one side of the groove. An elastic component is provided between, however excluding portions where the screw holes are provided, the wall surface of the groove on the other side of the groove along the direction of length measurement and the other surface of the main scale. Thereby, the scale is secured by the frame.

Abstract: A system for cleaning disc drive components includes a rotary support member for receiving an assembled disc drive component. A rotary drive motor is coupled to the rotary support member for rotating the rotary support member and disc drive motor supported thereon together at a rotation speed to impart a centrifugal force on any excess lubricant contained by the disc drive motor of sufficient magnitude to draw the excess lubricant from the disc drive motor. The system may also or alternatively include an enclosure defining an interior having an oxygen-containing environment. A support platform is disposed within the oxygen-containing environment of the interior of the enclosure, for supporting a disc drive component within the oxygen-containing environment of the enclosure, for example, after the component is removed from the rotary support member.

Abstract: This invention provides a hand-held electrically powered hair dryer in which the handle is movable in its connection to the main body. The handle provided with a sliding connection to the main body so that it can assume at least two different positions on the main body portion to increase the versatility of the apparatus. The hair dryer also provides an outlet which is rotatable about a pivot axis so that the air stream itself may be directed at different angles with respect to the hair dryer.

A boat 3 holding substrates W in vertical multistairs can be placed on a first lid 17, and the first lid 17 can open and close the opening 4a of the vertical thermal processing furnace 4 with the boat 3 placed thereon. The processing unit also has a boat-placing portion 19 on which the boat 3 and another boat 3 can be placed and a boat conveying mechanism 21 for conveying the two boats 3 alternatively between the boat-placing portion 19 and the first lid 17. A second lid 18 hermetically closes the opening 4a of the vertical thermal processing furnace 4 when the first lid 17 opens the opening 4a but no boat 3 passes through the opening 4a.

Abstract: A system for high-pressure drying of semiconductor wafers includes the insertion of a wafer into an open vessel, the immersion of the wafer in a liquid, pressure-sealing of the vessel, pressurization of the vessel with an inert gas, and then the controlled draining of the liquid using a moveable drain that extracts water from a depth maintained just below the gas-liquid interface. Thereafter, the pressure may be reduced in the vessel and the dry and clean wafer may be removed. The high pressure suppresses the boiling point of liquids, thus allowing higher temperatures to be used to optimize reactivity. Megasonic waves are used with pressurized fluid to enhance cleaning performance. Supercritical substances are provided in a sealed vessel containing a wafer to promote cleaning and other treatment.

Abstract: An improved exercise device including a sole with an upper surface on which a wearer's foot rests and a lower partially ground contacting surface. The sole has a heel, a midfoot, a forefoot and a toe region such that when the heel region lower surface and the forefoot region lower surface are in ground contact, the upper surface does not incline upwards from the forefoot to the heel region. The forefoot lower surface of the sole is generally radiused in a cylindrical curve about the line connecting the mid points of the first and second metatarsal-phalangeal joints of the wearer. When the wearer contracts their calf muscles, the heel section is lifted away from the ground, requiring work against gravity.

Abstract: A shoe cleat apparatus is provided which includes a receiver and a spike which is configured for swiveling within the receiver. The receiver includes a barrel which has an interior space and a surrounding disc. A neck with a central opening is positioned below the barrel, the opening being smaller in transverse dimension than the interior space. A seat is provided below the neck. The spike includes a shank having a shaft, a tip, a collar positioned between the shaft and the tip, and an enlarged head. The shaft is sized to fit within the opening and the collar to fit within the seat. The head may be pushed through the opening of the receiver to retain the spike on the receiver. The head, shaft and collar are sized respective to the interior space, opening and seat to permit limited swiveling and thus tilting of the spike relative to the receiver.

Abstract: An identification device for eyeglass frames is provided. The identification device includes an identification sleeve adapted to couple with an eyeglass frame. This identification sleeve includes an identification marking. A non-toxic protective sleeve is superimposed over the identification sleeve and at least a portion of an eyeglass frame. This device does not accumulate dirt and bacteria and easily attaches to an eyeglass frame.

Abstract: An animation device is provided in which a series of pictures are arranged on a translucent shell, which is mounted upon an inner frame. A periodic light emitter is mounted on the inner frame. A driver, such as an electric motor, moves the translucent shell relative to the inner frame to sequentially pass the series of pictures over the periodic light emitter, thus creating an animation effect for a viewer. The series of pictures is removable to permit replacement with an alternate series of pictures.

Abstract: The present invention provides a battery powered, hand-held signaling device having an illuminated display capable of selectively displaying illuminated indicia including the words “STOP”, “SLOW” and “GO”. The illuminated indicia are preferably color-coded, whereby the word “STOP” is displayed in illuminated red letters, the word “GO” is displayed in illuminated green letters, and the word “SLOW” is illuminated in yellow letters thereby maximizing recognition by an observer, such as the driver of an approaching vehicle. Selection of a particular message to be displayed is accomplished by user actuation of suitable electrical switching circuitry. In alternate embodiments, the device may be adapted for displaying a host of other illuminated messages, such as “TURN RIGHT,” “TURN LEFT,” “PARK,” etc.

Abstract: A sign holder for displaying a second sign at a position adjacent a first sign and which facilitates readily changing the second sign to alter the information displayed on the second sign. The holder includes a base member having a rigid support portion and a display portion. The rigid support portion is sized and shaped for being received by a frame supporting the first sign. The holder is held in an upright orientation with the display portion of the base member disposed adjacent to the first sign. A sign mount on the display portion mounts the second sign on the holder to display the second sign. The sign mount is configured for selectively interchanging the second sign with a different second sign to change the information displayed without altering the first sign.

Abstract: A peel-off/break structure of a display label is designed so that it is broken during peeling-off in order to prevent the display label from being peeled off and reused. The display label can be broken during peeling-off, irrespective of an adhesive force of the display label to a surface, and thus prevented from being reused. Weakened portions are provided on a display label having a self-adhesive applied to its back at points spaced inwards apart from an outer peripheral edge of the display label, so that a breaking force is concentrated, when a peeling-off force is applied to the display label affixed to a surface. The weakened portions are comprised of a plurality of cut lines made in a connected pattern to extend in directions intersecting one another.

Abstract: A bolt assembly for use in a firearm is disclosed which is movably arranged in a weapon housing and which includes a bolt carrier and a bolt head. The bolt head can be alternately inserted in at least two positions in the weapon housing to adapt the firearm to eject spent cartridge casings in a desired direction. The bolt assembly also includes an extractor which is fastened laterally on the bolt or bolt head for withdrawing a cartridge casing from a barrel of the weapon housing during return of the bolt assembly, and an ejector integrated in the bolt mechanism which removes the cartridge casing from the bolt assembly after extraction from the barrel.

The fuel is typically a stable homogeneous liquid at atmospheric pressure and normal ambient temperature and achieves a reduction of harmful pollutants in the exhaust emissions of the engines. A total of at least four different oxygen-containing functional groups are present in at least two different oxygen-containing organic compounds. The total concentration of organic compounds containing bound oxygen in the fuel composition generally varies from 5% and to 100% of the total volume of the fuel composition, and the concentration of the hydrocarbon compounds varies, correspondingly, from 95% to 0% of the total volume of the fuel composition.
