  • Patent number: 6425484
Abstract: In a parts storing tape, a first stepped part which has the predetermined height and is more extended than the other inner side faces of a recessed part in the width direction and the longitudinal direction of the above parts storing tape is provided at each corner part of the recessed part. Thereby, even if the corner part of a storing part is more projecting outside than the other peripheral part, the above storing part can be supported without that its corner parts contact or stick in the inner side faces of the parts storing tape by each of the first stepped parts. At the same time, in a tape-shaped parts package, a tape-shaped cover and a parts packaging apparatus, projecting parts which have resilience and are elastic in the direction of thickness of the above tape-shaped cover are provided or can be provided respectively corresponding to each recessed part of the parts storing tape on the surface opposite to the parts storing tape of the tape-shaped cover.

  • Patent number: 6425485
Abstract: A process is described for separating particles based on differences in mass after the selective attachment of air bubbles to reduce the density of one or more of the components of the feed. A novel feature of this process is aeration of a hindered-bed of solids in a fluidized-bed separator to create particle/bubble agglomerates that can be separated based on the principal of gravity. This approach offers an improvement in process efficiency that cannot be achieved by other processes. Air and water are mixed in a shear device before the aerated fluidized water is introduced to the separation chamber.

  • Patent number: 6425486
Abstract: In a pressure screening device for separating undesired particles from a fibre suspension a cylindrical screen (2) is provided. The screen has an outer side and an inner side and is provided with a plurality of projections (19) on the outer side of the screen (2) which extend in the circumferential direction of the screen (2), grooves (17) formed on the inner side of the screen (2) and extending in a direction having an axial component, and screening passages in the form of slots (18) disposed in the area of each groove (17) and diverging from the inner side of the screen (2) towards its outer side. According to the invention, the projections (19), grooves (17) and slots (18) of the screen (2) are produced by working of a substantially planar screen plate bent into cylindrical shape subsequent to the working. Thereby it is possible to form a screen (2) having uniform slots (18), the width of which at the inner side of the screen (2) is only about 0.1 mm.

  • Patent number: 6425488
Abstract: An earthquake resistant frame structure which is shippable in a fully populated condition has a base member, a plurality of support members extending from the base member, a top portion disposed over the ends of the support members, a extension member disposed over the top portion, side stiffeners positioned perpendicularly between the support members, and a tie down assembly system positioned between the base member and a flooring surface. The extension member has a platform section and at least two legs depending substantially perpendicularly therefrom that slidingly engage the support members. The two legs have slots therethrough configured to receive fasteners that, when secured to support members, secure and maintain the extension member in position. First and second panels protrude laterally from the frame structure to form an extension area, from which a bracket hingedly depends. A variety of pin arrangements are used to prevent the removal of the bracket from the hinge.

  • Patent number: 6425489
Abstract: A tool stand having a one-piece body with a cavity, the cavity having an opening defined by two side walls, a bottom and a back. A cover is secured to the body and sized to close the cavity. In the preferred embodiment, the cover slopes downwardly from the back toward the bottom of the body. The cover has at least two rows of apertures, with the apertures being sized and shaped to receive the shanks of the tools to be stored in the holder. The body includes at least one divider integral therewith that is disposed in the cavity substantially perpendicular to the cover so as to form a divider between the first and second rows of apertures. This divider prevents the shanks of any tools held in one row of apertures from interfering with the shanks of any tools held in the other row of apertures. The tool holder may include either, or both, vertical and horizontal flanges for securing the holder to vertical or horizontal surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6425494
Abstract: An insulator wrap for a beverage container is formed by a substantially rectangular body of insulation material. A self-coiling spring strip is embedded in the body along approximately the longitudinal center line. Because the spring strip is curved in lateral cross section, the wrap is held straight when uncoiled to allow easy storage and handling when not in use. Simple manual pressure frees the spring strip to self-coil inwardly to cause the wrap to extend around the container for use. Extended portions of the rectangular body isolate the spring strip from the edges of the body. In one embodiment, the extended body portions are one and one half times as wide as the spring strip. A foam insert is positioned within the elongated concave trough of the spring strip to provide a substantially smooth display surface for graphics and indicia in either the uncoiled or self-coiled states.

  • Patent number: 6425503
Abstract: A valve for a pressurized dispensing container has one or two dispensing openings through the wall of the valve stem. A dispensing nozzle with an actuating handle has a predetermined alignment with the opening or openings in the valve stem so that actuation of the nozzle will assure that one and only one full opening is presented to the product during dispensing. This keeps the leg or wall area between openings out of the path of the product being dispensed and avoids the build up of fiber that tends to clog the opening. A small retaining wall between the valve seat.at the bottom of the valve stem and the lower edge of the opening or openings provides a wall that prevents the flexible rubber-like seal from being distorted under pressure and setting in a position where it blocks the opening when product is to be dispensed. Each of the dispensing openings in the two opening embodiment extends at least 90° around the valve stem and the single opening embodiment may extend as much as 180°.

The method comprises the steps of (a) placing a mold over the surface, where the mold includes a conduit that contains the solder, and (b) heating the solder to a molten state so that the solder flows from the conduit onto the element. The conduit enjoys two degrees of horizontal freedom with respect to the surface such that the conduit becomes substantially aligned with the element when the solder is in the molten state. There is also provided a system for applying solder to an element on a surface of a substrate.

Abstract: A processing apparatus for processing information contained in an IC card. When an application is newly registered in the IC card, registration of a corresponding service application program in the processing apparatus is required. Further, when applications stored in the IC card differ from those stored in the processing apparatus, a method of displaying names of the applications in a uniformized manner is required. For coping with these cases, an IC card read/write unit of the processing apparatus is made use of for registering service application programs in a memory incorporated in the processing apparatus, while the application names are registered in a memory area of the IC card in a common character code for allowing the names of the applications registered in the IC card to be displayed whenever occasion requires.

Abstract: A method for preventing unauthorized use of credit cards in remote payments and a supplemental-code card for therein is disclosed. A unique code list is provided by the credit company to the credit card owner for use with the credit card. The codes are distributed in a variety of possible ways, including through A.T.M. machines, stores, e-mail or faxes. A copy of each code list is associated at the credit card company with the owner of the credit card. Each code is only for a single use. For every remote payment, the credit card owner transmits one of the codes to the creditor, along with conventional credit card data. The credit card company verifies the transmitted information and accepts or rejects the transaction. The codes may be provided on a supplemental-code card with some mechanism to ensure that each code is used only once.
