A method of installing a fixture utilizing the mounting device is also described.

The hollow pump body has air inside and consist of flexible sides and two opposite stiff ends. The air outlet is provided on the pump body to discharge the air in the pump body when the pump body is pressed. The pulling member is attached to one of the stiff ends of the pump body in order to restore the pressed pump body by pulling the pulling member. The air inlet is provided on the pump body to suck outside air into the pump body when the stiff end is pulled by the pulling member to restore the shape of the pressed pump body.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a system for remote control of garage doors and other devices wherein an extremely large number of codes are available for remote transmitters for operating the garage operator and wherein each transmitter has its own unique and permanent nonuser changeable code. The receiver at the garage door operator is capable of storing and remembering a number of different codes corresponding to different transmitters such that the receiver can be programmed so as to actuated by more than one transmitted code thus allowing two or more transmitters to actuate the same garage door operator and wherein the receiver stores the valid codes for the different transmitters.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a sanitary handwear being a hygienic mitten to be worn about the hand of the user for protection of the hand of the user to be used to clean, wipe babies, self, or older people with bowel control problems. The present invention has a single compartment to house all of the fingers of the hand and a separate compartment for the thumb and has a defined wrist area. The mitten of the present invention is made of two layers. The first, inner layer is waterproof and impermeable, and, the second, outer layer is a moist, extra absorbent cloth-like disposable material containing moisturizers. The mitten is comprised of disposable material so that it may be easily and economically disposed of after use. The mitten also has an internal pull tab to aid in removal of the glove from the hand of the user.

Abstract: A ball glove for use in games such as baseball and softball wherein the webbing of the glove is suspended in the crotch of the glove through the use of at least one energy absorbing connector. The energy absorbing connector being capable of absorbing more energy from an impacting ball than a traditional rigid connector can absorb. The energy absorbing connector may absorb energy through a plurality of mechanisms whether mechanical, electrical, chemical or others. In particular, an energy absorbing connector which dissipates energy through resisted motion is discussed.

Abstract: Nonwoven fabrics and fabric laminates are formed from continuous filaments or staple fibers of a select blend of specific grades of polyethylene and polypropylene which give improved fabric performance not heretofore recognized or described, such as high abrasion resistance, good tensile properties, excellent softness and the like. Furthermore, these blends have excellent melt spinning and processing properties which permit efficiently producing nonwoven fabrics at high productivity levels. The polymers are present as a lower-melting dominant continuous phase and at least one higher-melting noncontinuous phase dispersed therein. The lower-melting continuous phase forms at least 70 percent by weight of the fiber and comprises a linear low density polyethylene polymer of a melt index of greater than 10 and a density of less than 0.945 g/cc. At least one higher-melting noncontinuous phase comprises a polypropylene polymer with melt flow rate of greater than 20 g/10 min.

Abstract: A pair of swimming goggles comprises two lenses made of rigid material and two frames made of a soft material. Each lens includes a main portion and an engaging portion. The main portion is larger than a human eye socket. The frames are connected by a connecting portion therebetween. Each frame includes a ring portion for receiving the main portion of an associated lens. Each frame further includes a padding portion on an inner side thereof. The padding portion is engaged with the engaging portion of the associated lens and larger than the human eye socket. A space is defined between the two padding portions and located corresponding to a wearer's nose. Each padding member is in intimate contact with an area surrounding the wearer's eye socket and a lateral nose area of the wearer and not in contact with an upper portion of the wearer's nose.

Abstract: A toilet device for providing a toilet which allows a person in a wheelchair to slide from the wheelchair directly onto the toilet. The toilet device includes a toilet bowl having a seat portion and a peripheral wall extending downwardly from the seat portion. The peripheral wall includes a back side, a front side, and a pair of lateral sides. The back side has a height greater than the front side. The seat portion generally has an L-shape such that the seat portion has a generally horizontal portion and a generally vertical portion. A chamber is defined between an inner surface and an outer surface of the peripheral wall. The inner surface comprises a bowl and a drain. A flushing system is in fluid communication with the toilet bowl. A user wheels a wheelchair to the front side and slides from the wheelchair and onto the seat portion.

Abstract: A shower apparatus for a seated occupant includes a tub having a body compartment for receiving the torso of an occupant in a seated position and a foot compartment for receiving the feet of the seated occupant. A seat is provided with a through opening positionable over a through opening in the bottom of the body compartment, both through openings being positionable over the bowl of a stationary floor toilet. A shower head/sprayer is provided to introduce a flow of water into the tub for showering the seated occupant. The shower head/sprayer is attached to one end of a water conduit with the other end of the water conduit having a fitting for attaching the conduit to a source of water, such as an existing faucet. Water is drained from the body compartment by gravity feed through the body compartment through opening and into the toilet bowl. Water is drained from the foot compartment by use of a pump which moves the water along a pump conduit and into the toilet bowl.

Abstract: An adjustable height platform comprising a bottom platform, a top platform and a scissors linkage secured between the top and the bottom platforms. The scissors: linkage includes scissors legs which pivot about a pivot axis. A drive system provides a horizontal force to the scissors linkage. An unlocking mechanism lifts the pivot axis in response to the horizontal force and unlocks the scissors legs from a collapsed, retracted, and aligned position. After unlocking the legs, the horizontal force continues to raise the top platform with respect to the bottom platform.

Abstract: A rehabilitation bed for obese persons is provided that has a center frame section with first and second ends. A transport assembly is coupled to the center frame section that has at least one pair of transport wheels depending downwardly from the center frame section. A head base frame is pivotally coupled to the one end of the center frame section and a foot base frame is pivotally coupled to the other end of the center frame section. A patient support surface is coupled to the center frame section, the head base frame, and the foot base frame and is adapted to provide support for a mattress for the bed. The bed may thus be unfolded for use by a person with the head base frame, center frame section and the foot base frame located in substantially the same plane. The head base frame and foot base frame may also be pivoted upwardly relative to the center frame section leaving the transport wheels in contact with the ground so that the bed is easily transportable from room to room.

Abstract: A system for producing adjustable articulated beds. These beds use measurements taken from a particular human form applied to the bed construction. All beds made using this system have the following in common: a standard distance of four inches from the top of the intended user's head to the head end of the mattress; a mattress that increases in length as the bed is articulated upward and decreases in length when returning to supine position thus matching the change that occurs to the posterior length of the user with no slippage; standardized articulating mechanisms, to articulate the thighs and legs plus and increases the length of the thigh supporting sections when articulated upward, thus matching the movement of the human form; and standardized orbiculators to articulate the torso.

Abstract: A mattress assembly generally designed for use in hospitals and the like which is structured to effectively and comfortably support a patient during a period of recovery from a predetermined surgical procedure. The mattress assembly includes an elongated support platform having a corresponding dimension to that of a conventional hospital or like medical-type mattress and includes an opening formed therein and preferably extending therethrough. The opening is disposed in aligned, at least partially receiving relation to a predetermined portion of the patient's body directly involved in an invasive surgical procedure such as prostate surgery. More specifically, the opening is disposed, dimensioned and configured to receive and maintain portions of the patient's body, including external body parts, in an at least partially protected orientation and specifically out of supported engagement with a remainder of the support platform of the mattress.

Abstract: A bedding arrangement is provided having a compressible foam mattress pad and compressible foam pillow pad integrated as a single bedding unit within a fluid resistant or impermeable cover whose seams are heat sealed together. Air ventilation through the cover and about the interior foam is permitted by a vent that restricts insect, article and fluid passage through the vent. By using foam of different densities and/or composition, optimum performance characteristics in terms of comfort and support can be obtained separately for the mattress portion and the pillow portion. By mounting two pillow pads within the cover, the bedding arrangement can be made reversible.

Abstract: A surface for a patient support or a part thereof includes an anti-shear liner, a cover, and a cushion layer. A method for minimizing shear on a patient's skin as the patient rests upon a patient support includes providing an anti-shear layer, providing a cover, and placing the anti-shear layer and cover on the support. The cover may have a surface integrity against fluid leakage which is maintained upon stretching of the cover. The anti-shear liner may be disposed between the cover and the cushion layer, permitting the cover to slip relative to the cushion layer. The cover may be stretchable in one direction more than in an orthogonal direction.

Abstract: A method of rinsing laundries in a washing machine with a tilted washing tub consisting of an outer tub and an inner tub is disclosed. In the method of this invention, a predetermined amount of water is primarily fed to the washing tub while constantly rotating the inner tub at an initial speed of no higher than a predetermined rpm, with the amount of water being predetermined in accordance with the weight of the laundries to be rinsed within the washing tub. Thereafter, a circulation-rinsing step is performed. In this step, the laundries are rinsed while rotating the inner tub at a second speed, with the water repeatedly circulated from the washing tub to a nozzle provided at the upper portion of the washing tub through a water circulation hose, and sprayed under pressure from the nozzle into the washing tub.

Abstract: A washing machine having a variable speed motor. The washing machine has a basket for holding articles to be washed and has a first axis of rotation. A basket drive shaft connected to the basket drives the basket. An agitator disposed in the basket along the first axis of rotation agitates the article in the basket. An agitator drive shaft connected to the agitator drives the agitator. A variable speed motor, having a second axis of rotation which is not coincident with the first axis of rotation, drives the basket drive shaft and the agitator drive shaft. A coupler couples motion of the variable speed motor to the agitator drive shaft and basket drive shaft.

Abstract: An evaporator for an HVAC system is disclosed wherein an upstream to downstream airflow is directed through the evaporator for inducing a transfer of thermal energy between the airflow and a fluid circulating in the evaporator. The evaporator includes at least two cores adjacent one to the other. Each of the cores defines a core inlet and a core outlet and the cores are arranged such that the core inlet of the first core is positioned at an opposite end from the inlet of the second core. Correspondingly, the outlet of the first core is positioned at an opposite end from the outlet of the second core. The evaporator inlet is in fluid communication with the first core inlet and the second core inlet and the outlet is in fluid communication with the first core outlet and the second core outlet.

Abstract: A dockleveler having a lip that can be both moved between a pendent inoperative position and an operative position and moved from a retracted to an extended position. This feature allows the lip to be partially extended during an end load so that the lip engages a portion of the vehicle bed and does not contact the load. The dockleveler further includes a barrier that is resiliently mounted to provide a cushioning effect when impacted by material handling equipment. This feature reduces the likelihood of damage to the barrier and/or dockleveler, and further reduces the chance of disrupting a load carried by the material handling equipment.

Abstract: A surface sweeping device utilizing a brush connected to an arm first end portion. The second end portion of the arm connects to a shaft rotated by a motor. The arm contacts a cam surface during a portion of the rotation of the crank to raise and lower the brush from the surface. At the same time, the crank moves the brush inwardly and outwardly to create a sweeping motion.

Abstract: An adjustable cleaning tool adapted to clean facing surfaces of closely spaced parallel surfaces is made of thin rigidly flexible inner mount and removable fabric outer sleeve cover having scrubber material associated therewith. When the device is inserted between closely spaced parallel surfaces sliding movement of the device between the surfaces makes this cleaning tool easy to contact and clean surfaces neglected due to inaccessibility.

Abstract: An ice scraper construction (10) for cleaning ice and/or snow from vehicle windows wherein the construction (10) includes a handle member (20) having a pair of slots, (25), (28) whose upper ends are provided with an elongated cylindrical recess (29), a generally straight blade member (30), and a contoured deflector member (50). Both the blade member (30) and the deflector member (50) have elongated cylindrical beads (34) and (54), respectively, that are dimensioned to be laterally received within the cylindrical recesses (29) in the handle member (20).

The wiper blade has an elongated, rubber-elastic wiper strip (14) which is provided on its two long sides with respective facing longitudinal grooves (38, 40), in each of which one spring rail (30, 32), protruding intermittently from the grooves by one longitudinal edge (42, 44), is disposed; the spring rails belong to an elongated, spring-elastic support element (12) for the wiper strip (14), on whose middle portion a connection device (16) for a wiper arm (18) guided on the vehicle body is disposed.

Abstract: A guide rail 10 for a cable or Bowden cable window lifter with a guide area 1 with slide faces 11, 12 for holding and the sliding guide of a follower mounted displaceable on the guide rail 10 and with at least one fastening area 31, 32 for connecting the guide rail 10 to a fixing base of a vehicle door is made at least in part of plastics and has a reinforcement area 2 connected to the guide area 1 and with reinforcement elements 20 of ribs and/or webs which are moulded on a surface of the reinforcement area 2 preferably integral and substantially perpendicular to the surface of the reinforcement area 2. The at least one fixing area 31, 32 is part of the reinforcement area 2 and the rear sides of the slide faces 11, 12 of the guide area 1 are not directly connected to the reinforcement elements (20). The frame-side base member 41 is connected to a first plate 31 and the door-side base member 42 is connected to a second plate 32 which is hinge connected to the first plate 31, for holding the door 20 so as to be capable of rotating. The second plate 32 is separable from the door-side base member 42. The door-side base member 42 is shaped to be symmetrical about the vertical center line of the door edge, and is imbedded in the edge of the door 20 without any protrusions from the door 20. Further, the door-side base member 42 is provided with a slit 44 which penetrates the member 42 in the width direction of the door 20 and into which the second plate 32 can be inserted from both the front and back sides of the door 20. There is also provided a lock apparatus to lock the second plate 32 inserted into the slit 44.

Abstract: A fiber processing machine includes a clothed roll entraining fiber material thereon; a roll cover circumferentially partially surrounding the roll and defining an annular clearance therewith; a transfer opening provided in the roll cover for admitting fiber material to the roll; a waste discharge opening provided in the roll cover for removing waste from the clearance; a fiber removal opening provided in the roll cover downstream of the waste discharge opening as viewed in the direction of roll rotation; an arrangement for generating an air stream for doffing fiber material from the roll and for discharging doffed fiber material through the fiber removal opening; an arrangement for varying a strength of the air stream at the fiber removal opening; and an arrangement for varying the extent of waste removal through the waste discharge opening.

Abstract: A cable clamp has two identical moulded components that can be clamped together about a cable. Each component has a yoke with a ratchet bar at one end and two short arms at its opposite end spaced by a gap and having ratchet teeth on their inner faces. The ratchet bars on each component extend in the gap between the arms on the other component and the cable extends through the aperture between the two yokes and between the two ratchet bars. The yokes can be squeezed together about the cable, causing the ratchet bars to slide over the engaging teeth, which prevents the two components being subsequently separated.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a linear slide fastener capable of maintaining a stabilized condition in which an attachment yarn for attaching a fastener element is never out out by abrasion due to a contact with other object or sliding of a slider. A coil-like or zigzag-like linear fastener element row is attached to a fastener tape with a multi-filament attachment yarn or a sewing yarn of double lock sewing system. Then, synthetic resin material having adhesive property is applied to an entangled portion between a looper yarn disposed on the linear fastener element row and a needle yarn so as to permeate the entangled portion and harden. Consequently, the attachment yarn is coated and fixed with the synthetic resin material, As the attachment yarn, a weaving yarn or a warp knitting yarn is used. The synthetic resin material is applied to the entangled portion or an intersecting portion so as to permeate them.
