Abstract: Padding for seats, in particular vehicle seats, has a padded body predetermining the contour of the padded surface, which can be changed. In order to adjust the padded surface contour to support the body of a seated person in an individual and orthopaedically correct manner, avoiding hardening of the padded surface which has an adverse effect on the seat comfort, the padded body is composed, at least in subregions, of a plurality of individual padded segments which are arranged next to one another and can be displaced relative to one another in the direction of the normal of the padded surface. Adjusting elements can displace the padded elements individually.

Abstract: A lumbar support apparatus includes a guide rail on a seat frame, and a bendable occupant support structure mounted for sliding movement on the guide rail. The bendable structure, which is preferably configured as a grid, includes a spring that imparts increasingly bowed contours to the grid upon increasingly arched deflection of the spring relative to the seat frame and the guide rail. The apparatus further includes an actuator, a cable, and a fastener. A first section of the cable extends from the actuator into engagement with the grid so as to apply a bending force to the grid under the influence of the actuator. A second section of the cable extends from the first section to an end portion of the cable that is anchored to the seat frame.

Abstract: A rocker mechanism is provided for implementation with a chair assembly to enable forward and rearward rocking thereof. The rocker mechanism includes upper and lower castings resiliently interconnected by a pair of leaf springs extending at an angle therebetween. The leaf springs are assembled between the upper and lower castings to define first and second effective lengths of each leaf spring for providing first and second spring rates of each leaf spring. In this manner, rocking motion in a first direction may be more difficult than rocking motion in a second direction. Further, the angular configuration of the leaf springs between the upper and lower castings enables maximization of the lengths of the leaf springs within the rocker mechanism.

The feed chute has a discharge opening which is bounded by a bristle picker closing the discharge opening from outside, and serves to feed filaments to a recess provided on the bristle picker. The recess receives only a predetermined quantity of filaments, combining them into tufts which are then transferred to further stations for further processing. Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake system for vehicles in which the brakes in a first operating mode serve for a steering brake operation and in a second operating mode for braking the vehicle when driving on a road. In such brake systems one has to take care that only the brakes of the rear axle can be controlled independently from each other during the steering brake operation. On the other hand one has to ensure that at least the brakes of the rear axle are actuated together when driving on a road and, if necessary, the brakes of the front axle are controlled in parallel. In order to achieve this function, the state of the art includes complicated mechanical valves or sophisticated special arrangements in the master cylinders being used. Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a magnet motor, and having being provided the driven power of the electromagnet motor for electric vehicles, wherein, it has provided with a wireless coil whole rotator, which the upper part has been constructed with an equal angle, a power perpetual magnet is provided. At least one set of a magnet pole coil is formed into an electromagnet pole module and a circuit control unit. Using the perpetual magnet and the less electricity consumption of an electric magnet pole generates the repelling torque, accomplishing the object of the turning rotator to generate power. Either it is coupled with a simple or a complex structure; it can apply to be the driven motor of a bicycle, a motorcycle and a car. Moreover, it can greatly reduce the consumption of the vehicle battery electricity, and make it to be an environmental protection and practical vehicle means.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an edge reflection type surface acoustic wave device using a Shear Horizontal type surface acoustic wave includes the steps of making a first half cut defining first end surface portions having a smooth surface, that is, opposing two end surfaces which function as reflection end surfaces, from the upper surface of a piezoelectric substrate after at least one of a plurality of IDTs has been formed on the upper surface of the piezoelectric substrate, making a second half cut for forming second end surface portions having a rough surface after making the first cut, and making a full cut for cutting the piezoelectric substrate so as to reach the lower surface of the piezoelectric substrate outside of the second end surface portions in the surface acoustic wave propagation direction.

Abstract: A Shear Horizontal-type end-surface-reflection-type surface acoustic wave device includes a piezoelectric substrate having end surfaces. The most appropriate positions of the end surfaces of the piezoelectric substrate are determined. Interdigital transducers are disposed on the main surface of the piezoelectric substrate having a comparatively low relative dielectric constant ∈11T (for example, a relative dielectric constant of about 40 or less). The positions of the end surfaces are determined so that the distance from the center of the second electrode finger, counting from the outermost side in the surface acoustic wave propagation direction among the interdigital transducers, to the end surfaces (end surfaces for reflecting the surface acoustic wave) of the piezoelectric substrate satisfy the relationship (N+⅝)&lgr;s≦L≦(N+⅞)&lgr;s, where &lgr;s is the wavelength of the surface acoustic wave, and N is 0 or a positive integer.

Abstract: A piezoelectric actuator set includes a pair of elongated piezoelectric actuators. The elongated piezoelectric actuators establish the standard attitude of a head slider when no electric signal is supplied to the piezoelectric actuator set. When the electric signal is applied to the piezoelectric actuator set, the tip ends are pulled back toward the base ends in the elongated piezoelectric actuators. The piezoelectric actuator set generates a couple for driving the head slider for rotation around the rotational axis only in a predetermined direction from the standard attitude. The moment of inertia can be reduced in the head slider during rotation as compared with the case where the head slider is moved based on a swinging movement. The natural frequency can be raised in the vibration system comprising the head slider and the piezoelectric actuator set. The frequency of the electric signal or servo signal can be set over a wider frequency range.

Abstract: In a state in which respective portions of a quartz wafer 1 have been masked by a plurality of kinds of mask layers R2, R3 that have respectively different etching rates, this quartz wafer 1 is subject to an etching process. Since the etching operation is started earlier at a portion masked by the mask layer having a high etching rate, the amount of etching is increased at this portion. In contrast, the start of the etching operation is delayed at a portion masked by the mask layer having a low etching rate, and the amount of etching is reduced at this portion. Thus, it becomes possible to form the quartz wafer 1 into a desired shape.
