Abstract: A contact interface having a substantially continuous profile along a bottom and lower sides of the active surface of the semiconductor substrate formed within a contact opening is provided. The contact interface is formed by depositing a layer of conductive material, such as titanium, using both a high bias deposition and a low bias deposition. The high bias and low bias deposition may be effected as a two-step deposition or may be accomplished by changing the bias from a high level to a low level during deposition, or vice versa. The conductive material may be converted to a silicide by an annealing process to form the contact interface.

Abstract: Methods of forming contacts, methods of contacting lines, methods of operating integrated circuitry, and related integrated circuitry constructions are described. In one embodiment, a plurality of conductive lines are formed over a substrate and diffusion regions are formed within the substrate elevationally below the lines. The individual diffusion regions are disposed proximate individual conductive line portions and collectively define therewith individual contact pads with which electrical connection is desired. Insulative material is formed over the conductive line portions and diffusion regions, with contact openings being formed therethrough to expose portions of the individual contact pads. Conductive contacts are formed within the contact openings and in electrical connection with the individual contact pads. In a preferred embodiment, the substrate and diffusion regions provide a pn junction which is configured for biasing into a reverse-biased diode configuration.

Abstract: A spacer-connector stud comprises a stacked array of glass epoxy laminates, each laminate having a copper layer laminated thereto. The top and bottom laminates of the stud include a spatial array of thermal contacts suitable as a footprint for C4 bump technology. A location is selected on a circuitized base card to accommodate the laminated stud. The stud has a thickness greater than twice the thickness of the components attached to the card. The thermal contacts on the stud, typically solderable, join to a wiring array on the card. A second multi-chip module card having attached and interconnected components on both sides of the second card is mechanically aligned with the based card and pressed against the contacts on the top layer of the stud to form an assembly. The assembly is heated causing the second card to become soldered to the contact footprint on the stud.

Abstract: The invention relates to a carbonating device for charging a liquid with a pressurized gas. Carbonating devices of this type are generally used for adding carbon dioxide or CO2 to tap water or so-called still water. According to the invention, the pivotal filling device can be locked into a so-called pivotal position in a manner that makes the inventive carbonating device easier to handle than commercially available carbonating devices. The invention provides that the pivotal filling device can be firstly brought into the pivotal position and locked in place by using one hand. Afterwards, the water bottle can be clamped or screwed onto the filling device by using both hands. Together with the water bottle, the filling device is then released from its locked position and placed into the so-called filling position.

Abstract: A damped sleeve having a damping layer attached to a backing layer is disclosed. The damping layer is formed from a non-woven energy absorbing felt and is attached to the backing layer by lines of attachment which define pockets between the layers. The layers are positioned coaxially around an axis and define a central space for receiving elongated items to be protected from vibration. Resilient filamentary support members are arranged between the damping and backing layers to support the layers radially in spaced relation relative to the axis. The support members may be helically wrapped around the axis, circumferentially positioned or arranged in a zig-zag pattern transversely to the axis. A slit in the layers provides access to the central space.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fluid-filled cylindrical vibration damping device including an elastic body interposed between an inner and outer sleeves for elastically connecting these sleeves with each other. A plurality of fluid chambers filled with a non-compressible fluid are partially defined by the elastic body so that a pressure of the fluid in the plurality of fluid chambers vary upon application of a vibrational load to the vibration damping device. A first orifice passage permitting a fluid communication between the fluid chambers is at least partially defined by an elastic member adapted to be subjected to shear deformation due to a fluid pressure acting on the first orifice passage so that a cross sectional area of the first orifice passage increases according to an increase of the pressure of the fluid acting on the first orifice passage owing to the shear deformation of the elastic member.

Abstract: A clamp pad is provided for being selectively mounted to each jaw of a bar clamp assembly. The clamp pad can be easily mounted to the clamp jaw and radially locked in place with respect to the bar clamp assembly. In an embodiment of the invention, the clamp pad is configured to selectively be fit on either of the clamp jaws of the bar clamp assembly to facilitate assembly. The clamp pad defines a substantially increased clamping area to evenly distribute force and prevent damage to the associated workpiece. The increased dimensions of the clamp pad also stabilizes the bar clamp assembly, which eliminates tipping and thus eliminates the need for associated assemblies such as clamp saddles and the like.

The circulatory elements receive a supplementary product at the pick-up location and transfer the same, in a first mode of operation, to the respectively preceding circulatory element. In a second mode of operation, no transfer takes place. This results in it being possible for the supplementary products received in the same manner to be brought into abutment optionally against the leading side or trailing side of the printed products and pressed on there.
