Abstract: A handlebar mounting apparatus and method for mounting a handlebar onto a vehicle. The handlebar is mounted to the vehicle such that the handlebar is selectively rotatable about a first axis to allow for adjustment of the axial orientation of the handlebar relative to the vehicle. Additionally, the mounts are connected to the vehicle for selective, eccentric rotation of the mounts about a second axis to allow for selective height and position adjustment of the handlebar in relation to the vehicle. One embodiment provides an apparatus for mounting a handlebar to a vehicle including two or more mounts. The use of multiple mounts or mounting assemblies in such embodiments allows the mounts to be separated or spaced from one another, and allows for universal fit of the handlebar mounting apparatus on a broad variety of vehicles and applications.

Abstract: A grip is described in which longitudinal cavities are formed within the grip. The grip may be used on a golf club or tennis racket. When a golf club or racket strikes a ball, the club or racket undergoes an opposing force. This opposing force may produce various torsional or rotational vibrations within the club or racket. These forces can cause discomfort and damage to joints. The cavities act to permit material between the cavities to deform, preferentially dampening high frequency torsional vibrations and isolating the user. The cavities may also be formed to permit a user to experience low frequency oscillations while preferentially dampening the higher frequency vibrations that cause discomfort and pain. In this manner, users may experience much of the low frequency vibrations that are indicative of striking quality while avoiding discomfort associated with poor striking.

Venting explosion gases in a substantially upward direction maximizes downward vector thrust force to counteract muzzle jump. Venting the explosion gases at the butt end of the barrel maximizes the duration of thrust forces as gases are vented well prior to the projectile exiting the barrel. The conduits may be configured with nozzle outlets so as to redirect and concentrate the escaping gases thereby maximizing the forces to counter muzzle jump and recoil.

Abstract: A piston for a compressor has a head portion, a neck portion, a receiving wall for receiving reactive force and a first guide wall. The receiving wall extends from a drive shaft side of the head portion towards the neck portion; is disposed on a preceding side in a rotating direction of a cam plate; and has an outer circumferential surface that slides over the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder bore. The first guide wall extends from the drive shaft side of the head portion towards the neck portion; is disposed on a following side in the rotating direction of the cam plate; and has an outer circumferential surface that slides relative to the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder bore. A recess is formed in the outer circumferential surface of the first guide wall.

Abstract: An axial piston pump that enables fluid entering the pump to be precharged without the addition of an auxiliary pumping mechanism or other type of external fluid precharge, comprises a housing having a cylindrical inner wall surface surrounding a barrel chamber, a barrel mounted for rotation within the barrel chamber in the housing and having a plurality of circumferentially spaced piston bores therein, and a plurality of pistons reciprocally movable in the piston bores for pumping fluid from a delivery passage to an exhaust passage. The barrel has at least one and preferably plural impeller vanes projecting radially outwardly and terminating at a radially outer vane edge adjacent the inner wall surface of the barrel chamber. Upon rotation of the barrel, the impeller vanes function to supercharge the fluid supplied to the piston bores.

Abstract: An assembly includes a piston and a transition arm coupled to the piston. The position of the transition arm is adjustable to vary a stroke of the piston. A balance member is adjustable relative to the transition arm to counterbalance the transition arm in varying positions. A control rod is coupled to the transition arm and the balance member. Linear movement of the control rod moves the transition arm in a first direction to change the stroke of the piston and moves the balance member in a second direction substantially opposite the first direction to counterbalance the transition arm. A method of counterbalancing a variable stroke assembly includes moving a transition arm coupled to a piston to vary a stroke of the piston, and moving a balance member in a direction substantially opposite to the direction of movement of the transition arm to counterbalance the transition arm.

Abstract: A process is described for preparing a supported zeolite membrane constituted by a composite continuous zeolite/support layer of controlled thickness, wherein the zeolitic phase is principally localized in the pores of a porous support and optionally on the external surface thereof, the process comprising at least the formation of a precursor gel of said zeolite, bringing said gel into contact with said support and crystallizing the zeolite. The zeolite is crystallized by carrying out a thermal program comprising at least three steps in succession: a first constant temperature stage carried out at a temperature in the range 50° C. to 300° C., cooling to a temperature of strictly less than 50° C. followed by a second constant temperature stage carried out at a temperature radical 50° C. to 300° C. The prepared membrane is used in particular in processes for separating gas or separating liquids.

Abstract: The present invention provides an air filter made from a composite comprising a substrate and a polymeric foam. The air filter can comprise a single layer. The foam has a density gradient where the lower density upstream portion of the filter can trap larger particles, allowing smaller particles to penetrate into the filter and be trapped by the higher density downstream portion of the filter. The density gradient arises from intercalation of the polymeric foam with the substrate. The composite design provides comparable or improved filtration efficiencies compared to the complex prior art air filters which rely on multiple layers to provide a density gradient.

Abstract: An automated grain blending processing system enables one to track and optimize the actual cost associated with mixing or blending grain to provide consistent blends having good milling quality, cost efficient blending so customers receive the best quality product, and tracking of performance for particular grades or mixtures of product so as to, for example, eliminate blending and costing errors. Commodity-based costing data can be downloaded over a network and used to calculate an actual cost of blending a product. The difference (positive or negative) between actual blend cost and a model blend cost can be calculated, and blending decisions can be made based at least in part on the calculation. A blend processor can generate a blend mix output that specifies the amount of each of plural grain lots to mix in order to achieve said desired mix. A mass storage device operatively coupled to the blend processor may store historical data concerning previous blends.
