Abstract: This invention is a device for translatably positioning a patient along a bed. The device has a motor connected to a series of pulleys. A corresponding series of straps are attached at one end to a respective pulley and at the other end to a bed sheet. As the pulleys are rotated by operation of the motor, each strap is wound around its respective pulley thereby causing the associated sheet to be drawn in the general direction of the pulleys. The device may be operated by the patient or a caregiver and the device contains a safety mechanism that prevents the pulleys from pulling the associated bed sheet completely into the device. In one embodiment of the invention, the components of the device are received onto a portable, adjustable frame that permits the device to be transported to a number of different beds and used with beds of differing sizes.

Abstract: A device used to safely secure a vehicle's trunk or hood lid, hereafter called lid or lids, in an open position is disclosed. The preferred device comprises a ␣ formed fork, which is housed in a vehicle's existing lid support arms, with two ends; two force distribution boots, two friction fittings and a damping-extension block. Upon manual engagement of the fork assembly the two force distribution boots contact the damping-extension block and keep a vehicle's lid from closing. Most vehicles have spring tension assemblies mounted in their lids that operate to keep the lids open by way of stored energy in the spring assemblies. As such, lids equipped with these spring assemblies are subject to unintentional closing by unexpected forces, such as winds, parking a vehicle on a grade or often accidents related to children. In the present invention, the device's flawless operation is entirely independent and void of these actions owing to its design, stability, and simplicity of operation.

Abstract: A refrigerator handle assembly includes a main handle member, upper and lower extensions, and a base member. The main handle member is formed with an elongated upper cleat over which the upper extension snaps, an intermediate gripping portion, and a lower connecting portion including a cantilevered finger beneath which the base member extends. Each of the upper and lower portions of the main handle member is formed with slots which receive projections provided on the upper and lower extensions respectively. Detents provided on the upper and lower extensions are received beneath respective portions of the cleat and the base member in order to snap-fittingly interconnect the upper and lower extensions. The lower extension actually extends around both the terminal end of the main handle member and the base, while the upper extension extends about the elongated cleat. A tab formed on the cleat projects through a cut-out formed in the second extension.
