Abstract: An electric drive motor drives a door to move in an open/close direction. A pulse encoder outputs a series of pulses. Each pulse has a pulse duration sized to correspond to a rotation speed of the motor. The number of the pulses corresponds to the number of revolution of the motor. A door jamming detecting device for detecting a jamming of the door is configured to carry out calculating a total duration time (Tn) of a given number (n) of the series pulses outputted from the pulse encoder; detecting a given condition wherein the total duration time (Tn) is greater than a threshold value (Ts); and making a judgment of the door jamming when the given condition is kept for a given time (Tm).

Abstract: A low profile, expandable, mobile rigid structure with unique a unique assembly and support system, that can easily be transported by an average sized vehicle. The structure features a central structure with a central roof section, a pair of endwall assemblies, and a central floor mounted to a base. The endwalls are two pieced having a bottom endwall panel and a top endwall panel. From the side of the central structure one or more side sections are retractable and expandable to increase the size of the floor space inside. The two pieced endwalls allow for compaction of the structure for travel by translating the lower portion of the endwall from supporting the upper portion. A two pieced door allows entry into the structure when it is expanded.

Vertical segmented support and media consolidation plates swingably mounted about pivot points vertical support means incorporate media-facing surfaces swingable outwardly from the into surrounding media. Varying segmented lengths form segmented vertical support means. Novel apparatus and method provide for centering collar 113, an anchor positioning means at level force pivoting plates 194, and pivoting plates 194 positioned 40-50 degrees from vertical. A frusto-cone 197 dx equal to a predetermined distance of one-half inch forms gap 204. The novel method installs a anchor and foundation device in the earth by preparing a hole in the earth, lowering into the hole a segmented anchor or foundation device having swingable media facing plates, and applying force to swing the plates outwardly into the surrounding media.

Abstract: A vapor-liquid separator includes an outer tube, an introduction tube, a delivery tube, and a discharge tube. The introduction tube allows passage of a vapor-liquid two-phase fluid in a swirling state. The delivery tube allows passage of the vapor phase separated from the vapor-liquid two-phase fluid. The introduction tube and the delivery tube are coaxially provided at the corresponding axially opposite ends of the outer tube. The discharge tube is provided on the outer tube in the vicinity of the axial end face of the outer tube on the side toward the introduction tube. The discharge tube is adapted to discharge therefrom the liquid phase separated from the vapor-liquid two-phase fluid. An outlet of the introduction tube and a delivery port of the delivery tube are located axially inside the outer tube by respectively predetermined axial distances while facing each other with a predetermined axial distance therebetween.

Abstract: A two stage extracting blower that cleans liquid and solid contaminants from supply air, and provides high velocity air for cooling equipment, personnel and/or structures. In a first air cleaning stage, the blower uses air velocity and the centrifugal force of a rotating impeller to separate heavier contaminants entrained in a dirty air stream into a rear partitioned chamber of the blower housing. In a second air cleaning stage, the blower uses centrifugal forces imparted by the impeller on lighter contaminants to cause the contaminants to be collected in a skimmer provided in the partially cleansed air stream prior to release of the air stream from the blower.

Abstract: A foreign object detector comprises an inertial sensor mounted for displacement with one of the displaceable rolls in the feed mechanism of a forage harvester. When a foreign object is forced through the rolls, the acceleration of the rolls' displacement exceeds a predetermined threshold and the detector stops the feed mechanism. Preferably, the detector's sensor is a microswitch having an inertially-actuable lever and which is mounted for displacement with the upper feed roll. More preferably, the detector's circuitry ties into existing metal detector circuitry for reducing cost and complexity, while being easily retrofitted into existing forage harvesters.

Abstract: A hood and a blower housing form an air induction cavity in the side of the mower hood, which draws the ambient air into the air intake and from there into the engine. Two shield members on the blower housing prevent the ambient air from mixing with the hot air of the engine. A method of air induction is also disclosed, including the steps of forming an air induction cavity by connecting the upper hood to the housing, having the lower lip of the air induction cavity lower than the air intake of the blower housing, channeling the air into the air intake, and preventing the hot air of the engine from mixing with the ambient air drawn through the air induction cavity.

Abstract: A machine for dubbing assembly in fly hook production includes a base having a vertical dowel mounted to one end of the base, and a housing mounted to the other end. A work platform is pivotally mounted to one side of the base so that the platform may be elevated or lowered. A drive motor is mounted within the housing. The motor drives a drive shaft. The drive shaft terminates in a hook or eye. A second eye is mounted to the vertical dowel. The second eye projects toward, in opposed facing relation with, the drive shaft. The second eye supports a tensioning spring which has a barrel swivel attached to its opposite end. One or more filaments may be attached to a ring on the barrel swivel so as to extend across the work platform and be secured to the hook or eye on the drive shaft. Dubbing material is applied to a single filament or sandwiched between double strand filaments. Double strand filaments are twisted into a helix to flare the dubbing material.

Abstract: For producing a yarn (4) spun from a loose fibre array (2) using a vortex flow an apparatus is used in which between a fibre supply duct (1) and a yarn take-off tube (5) a vortex chamber (3) is provided. Into the vortex chamber (3) a fluid is injected via tangentially oriented nozzles (6), which subsequently is drained via an exhaust duct (7). This apparatus comprises a wall limiting the vortex chamber downstream zone formed e.g. by a wall plate (20). This plate separates the vortex chamber (3) from the exhaust duct (7), but for completely draining the fluid is provided with a plurality of openings (21) extending to the exhaust duct (7). Owing to the functional separation of the vortex chamber (3) from the exhaust duct (7), in which the inventive apparatus differs from the state of the art, the fibre losses are reduced.

Abstract: An apparatus for forming a cotton/rayon blended yarn. The apparatus includes a supply of cotton fibers and a supply of rayon fibers. A blending operation line blends the cotton fibers and the rayon fibers. The fibers are then spun in an open end spinning turbine having a twist multiple of less than about 3.7 at a rotor speed of less than about 112,000 RPM. A roughing navel downstream from the open and spinning turbine distressing the surface of the cotton/rayon blended yarn to further improve the hand of yarn. The yarn is then knitted or woven into fabric and finished. The resulting fabric, and apparel made therefrom, has the advantage of having a particularly soft and luxurious hand, particularly compared to fabric knit from 100% cotton yarn.

Abstract: Disclosed is a means for reducing jet engine exhaust noise wherein mixing is enhanced between adjacent exhaust flows and between exhaust flow and free-stream flow. The device does so with a very small degradation in aircraft performance. The device is a segmented, triangular or trapezoidal shaped, curved extension to a nozzle's sleeve that results in a serrated trailing edge. The nozzle extensions enhance the natural free mixing of the jet's exhaust flows and therefore reduce the acoustic energy associated with the velocity differences between the streams in which they are imbedded. The novel structure forces adjacent flows to penetrate into one another to a greater depth than that achievable with free mixing and results in a more uniform flow in a shorter stream wise distance while limiting high frequency noise through utilization of root radii in the order of 15 to 20% of the segment's width at the intersection of a parent nozzle.
