In a signature entry mode, the control circuit displays a signature entry area and monitors data input into the touch screen. If the input data corresponds to the signature capture area, the control circuit displays a data point corresponding to the valid input data. If the input data does not correspond to the signature capture area the control circuit, in one embodiment superimposes a prompt message on displayed signature data until the control circuit receives valid data.

A third party entity provides a database of advertising indicia adapted to be placed on a vehicle license plate. The database is made available to vehicle owners. The third party entity provides inputted vehicle owner information, the selected advertising indicia and registration indicia to the government. The government issues a license plate to the vehicle owner, wherein the issued license plate includes the selected advertising indicia and the registration indicia.

Abstract: A data storage card that includes a card body, an aperture, an optical storage region, and a magnetic storage region. The card is formed to cooperatively engage both a drive mechanism of a magnetic stripe reader and a drive mechanism of an optical data reader. In one embodiment, the card includes a resiliently displaceable cover member that automatically moves in and out of the aperture for proper use in various data readers. Also, in one embodiment, the optical data region is formed on a film to reduce the thickness of the card. Moreover, in one embodiment, the card includes a semiconductor and a counterbalance weight. Abstract: A radio operated data card whose outer jacket forms a sealed protected housing for internal electrical components, including an RFID integrated circuit which incorporates data storage and a radio frequency transceiver, an on card antenna, and manually operated, normally open electrical switch contacts connected between the on-card electronic circuitry and the antenna. The open switch contacts normally disable the card, protecting the data on the card from being surreptitiously read until the switch contacts are intentionally closed by the cardholder to enable data transfer to occur. The injector has a nozzle with a conical valve seat and a cylindrical discharge orifice. The valve lift is 50 &mgr;m in 60 &mgr;s. The outer diameter of the spring disk is forced to flex to the cap surface while the center portion is restrained by the orifice that is resting on the platen.

Abstract: A jaw crusher having a dynamically adjustable tramp iron relief system is disclosed. A moveable jaw and a stationary jaw define a crushing chamber, with a lower portion of the moveable jaw cooperating with a lower portion of the stationary jaw to define a closed side setting gap. A hydraulic tramp iron relief system operatively connects at least one of the jaws to the frame and is arranged to permit uncrushable material to pass through the crushing chamber by permitting the lower portion of the jaw to shift to a shifted position in which the gap is increased. The tramp iron relief system includes an adjustable hydraulic cylinder, the hydraulic cylinder arranged to permit the gap to be adjusted during operation of the crusher.

Abstract: The data destruction machine is a desk-top, portable unit with a short (under 10 second) cycle time, pluggable into a wall outlet. Upon insertion of a disk (such as a CD or split DVD) into the machine, which is fully automatic, data is removed. The machine converts the data-storage layer into residue consistent with security destruction standards from which no data is retrievable. A single machine may be used for declassifying CDs and split DVDs. Splitting DVDs in preparation for inserting them into the data destruction machine may be accomplished quickly and simply.

The magnetic tape guiding system of the tape recorder transport system has a supply reel pole base assembly having a slant pole with a first guide unit having portions formed at both ends of the slant pole to function as a conventional roller for regulating upward and downward movement of the upper and lower edges of a moving magnetic tape, and a tension pole assembly having a tension pole with a second guide unit having portions formed at both ends of the tension pole to function as a conventional impedance roller for regulating upward and downward movement of the upper and lower edges of the moving magnetic tape. This arrangement can thus achieve 2-dimensional plane-traveling of the magnetic tape while also reducing the number of the parts of the guiding system.

The operation portion is operated by an operating movement. Anchor rings are mounted on the housing for fixing the device against movement.

Abstract: A tape guide device for a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus includes a pole base assembly to guide a tape supplied from a supply reel and passed through a predetermined path to be moved horizontally to a read surface of a head drum. The pole base assembly includes a pole base installed adjacently to or separately from one side of the head drum during a loading/unloading operation of the tape. The pole base assembly also includes a pole unit including a spiral flange inclined to the pole base to be in a horizontal direction to the read surface of the head drum, to guide the tape entering the head drum to be inclined at a predetermined angle and positioned in the horizontal direction to the read surface.

Abstract: An arrangement for a horizontally and vertically flying aircraft of the type that for vertical flight has rotors that form a lifting area such as in a helicopter, and where the rotors are retracted within a rotor disc (4) during horizontal flight. The rotors (8) are supported with fixed pitch in the rotor disc (4). The centre point of the lifting area is arranged to be capable of being shifted in an xy plane, or means are provided to be brought at determined points within the lifting area of the rotor disc (4) to break the lifting capabilities in the effective rotor disc for manoeuvring and counteracting differential lift during propulsion of the aircraft in vertical flight and on the transition from vertical to horizontal flight.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling aircraft inlet air flow. The apparatus can include an external flow surface having a forward portion, and an engine inlet positioned at least proximate to the external flow surface and aft of the forward portion. The engine inlet can have an aperture and can be coupled with an engine inlet duct to an engine location. An auxiliary flow duct can be positioned at least proximate to the external flow surface and can include a first opening and a second opening spaced apart from the first opening. The first opening can be positioned to receive flow from the external flow surface during at least a first portion of an operating schedule of the propulsion system. The auxiliary flow duct can be configured to direct air to the engine location during at least a second portion of the operating schedule of the propulsion system.
