Abstract: An air-seal structure for pneumatic nailers includes a valve member movably engaged with the end cap of the nailer and a plurality of paths defined radially through a skirt portion of the valve member. The paths are in communication with air release passage defined in the end cap. A seal is mounted to the skirt portion of the valve member and closes the paths. The seal contacts an end of the cylinder when the trigger is not squeezed. The seal is sucked due to the difference of pressure so that it will not be loosened during movement of the valve member. A cushion member is connected to a disk member on the inside of the end cap so as to absorb shocks when the piston returns back to the ready position.

Abstract: A high pressure fuel pump includes a cylinder having a pressurizing chamber and a plunger inserted into the cylinder. The plunger is axially reciprocated by a lifter to pressurize fuel in the pressurizing chamber. A seal member encompasses a portion of the plunger that is projected from the cylinder. The seal member disconnects a cylinder side space surrounded by the seal member from a lifter side space outside the seal member. The seal member has an annular lip portion that contacts a peripheral surface of the plunger, and the annular lip portion has a pair of lips separated from each other in an axial direction of the plunger. An axial distance between the lips is greater than a stroke of the plunger. As a result, fuel does not enter the lifter side space, and lubricating oil does not enter the cylinder side space.

Abstract: The invention relates to methods of increasing the relative concentration of a target molecule in a gas stream, so that it can be more easily detected by a semiconducting metal oxide based sensor. In a first step of one method, a gas stream is passed through an adsorbent. The gas stream contains molecules of the target molecule in a mixture containing molecules of at least one non-target molecule. Both the target and non-target molecules are adsorbed on the adsorbent. In a second step, another gas stream containing molecules of a chemical displacer is passed through the adsorbent. The molecules of the chemical displacer adsorb on the adsorbent to selectively displace the target molecules from the adsorbent while leaving the non-target molecules adsorbed. The chemical displacement causes the displaced target molecules to enter the gas stream. The gas stream can then be passed through a semiconducting metal oxide based sensor to detect the target molecules.

Abstract: A continuous process for separating components of flaxseed is described. Flaxseed is dried to a moisture content of from about 0.5% to about 3.0%, after which is introduced into a separation chamber having an abrasive rotator therein. As the flaxseed passes over the abrasive rotator, contact with rotator separates the flaxseed components into hulls and kernels. Hulls and kernels are separated and may be used in this form or processed further. Hulls may be further processed by extraction with water and with hexane to remove flaxseed gum and oil, respectively. These two extractions may be done in any order. The process results in a lignan-rich component of flaxseed, a gum extract and oil. These separate components of flaxseed may be used in products such as feed, personal care products or nutraceuticals.

Abstract: A paint wagon (10) has a base (22) having a plurality of wheels (28, 30) mounted in supporting relation thereto. A drop pin (32) is slidably mounted to the base. The drop pin (32) selectively engages with a conveyor (12) for translating the paint wagon (10) along a path. A plurality of slidably mounted mounting fixtures (26) are movable between a contracted position and an expanded position. An actuating assembly (24) slidably mounts the mounting fixtures to the base. The actuating assembly (24) has a longitudinal support (38) and a plurality of cars (52, 54, 56) in sliding engagement with the longitudinal support. The mounting fixtures (26) extend from the plurality of cars. A rotatably mounted pinion (70) drivingly engages a rack (84, 86) which is slidably mounted with the longitudinal support. The rack (84, 86) is connected to an outer car (56).

Abstract: A drive roller for moving heavy structures includes a body having a load bearing surface and a roller engaging surface. Rollers supported by endless link chains are moveable about the roller engaging surface of the body. A shaft is rotatably mounted on the body. A worm wheel is non-rotatably secured to and rotatable with the shaft. A worm gear engages the worm wheel. Rotation of the worm gear imparts a rotary motion to the worm wheel thereby rotating the shaft. A sprocket is non-rotatably secured to and rotatable with the shaft. The sprocket engages the endless link chains. Rotation of the shaft results in the sprocket driving the endless link chains and rollers about the body.

Abstract: A chair for a cableway system is provided with a closure bar, which can be pivoted into a closed position about a axis running transversely to the direction of travel of the chair. The chair is preferably provided with a number of footrests which correspond to the seats. In a front region of each of the at least one seat there is provided a cam device or protrusion or the like which is coupled in terms of movement to the closure bar. When the closure bar is pivoted into its closed position, the cam device is adjusted to project upwardly centrally at the seat, that is, between the thighs of a person sitting on the respective seat of the chair.

Abstract: An ink composition containing a micro-encapsulated UV absorber. The ink composition includes a micro-encapsulated UV absorber, a dispersant, an emulsifer, at least one colorant, and a medium. The present invention adds a micro-encapsulated UV absorber to inkjet ink or screen printing ink. The micro-encapsulated UV absorber is suitable for either a water-based system or solvent-based system. The micro-encapsulated UV absorber increases the light-fastness and maintains longer-term light resistance because the UV absorber is gradually released from the microcapsule. The ink composition of the present invention provides excellent printing quality when used in inkjet or screen printing.

Abstract: A flexographic preprint ink composition, which includes at least 3 weight percent of a pigment; at least 15 weight percent of a hydrolyzed gelatin; and water. The ink composition may also contain conventional additives, such as surfactants and defoaming agents, typically found in flexographic ink compositions. The flexographic ink composition can exhibit better heat resistance, mileage, strength, wet trap, foam resistance, drying, stability, and plate transfer than conventional flexographic inks which contain soy as a binder.

Abstract: The invention provides a poultice or sacrificial render comprising fibrous material and diatomaceous earth. Preferably, the ratio of fibre to diatomaceous earth is in the range 1:6 to 6:1 and the fibrous material contains relatively long fibres, such as would be obtained from the manufacturing or pulping of quality paper, for example fibres in the range 1 mm to 4 mm. The invention also provides a poultice mixture comprising fibre, diatomaceous earth and water and optional additives such as a binder or thickening agent and a biocide. The invention also provides a method of removing salt from a salt permeable object comprising the step of applying the poultice mixture to the salt permeable object.
