Abstract: A fine surgical instrument tip-cleaning device including a box-like cleaning unit that provides an outer abrasive cleaning surface and internal cleaning surfaces. The internal structure of the device consists of a transverse abrasive cleaning strut, which can be straddled by instruments such as forceps or bipolar cautery tips. The sidewalls of the cleaning box also contain abrasive cleaning lateral surfaces, which approximate the central cleaning strut. The lateral surfaces have a springiness, which permits the entrance of instrument tips into the box while maintaining constant contact of the abrasive cleaning surfaces against the instrument. In this fashion, effective removal of debris, coagulate and other substances are possible from surgical instruments even from the internal surfaces of forceps-type instruments. Easy introduction into the cleaning unit and back and forth motion of an instrument provides effective cleaning of the latter.

Abstract: A jewelry bead has a rigid hollow body with an exterior wall of a first metal and a covering of a second metal whose color is different from that of the first metal. The covering overlies one or more selected areas of the wall so as to define an all-metal substantially level color pattern on the bead. A method of making the jewelry bead is also disclosed.

Abstract: A carton cutting tool for cutting and opening a sealed peaked top of a paperboard carton comprises a first blade attached to a first handle and a second blade attached to a second handle. The first and second blades are pivotally coupled at respective distal ends thereof relative to a user and are movable between open and closed configurations in response to corresponding movements of the first and second handles. At a closed configuration, the second blade overlies the first blade while the second blade is offset approximately 90 degrees from the first blade at the open configuration. The first blade defines a slot extending longitudinally therealong for receiving the peaked top of a carton therein. One longitudinal edge of the slot presents a sharp cutting edge. The second blade includes a slightly convex cutting edge such that a peaked top of a carton that is positioned in the slot is pinched and severed upon a movement of the second blade between open and closed configurations.

Abstract: A manual straight razor comprises an elongated front cutter portion having a rear portion; the front cutter portion having an elongated wide opening which is slightly, downwardly narrowed, a complementary razor holding structure snugly inserted into the wide opening and a V-shaped lower member having a rounded end portion, along which a number of grooves are provided. When the razor structure attached with a pair of razor blades is snugly inserted into the wide opening, a pair of gaps is formed between the razor blades and the V-shaped lower member. Introduced through the grooves and kept temporarily in the gaps are soapsuds, which are rinsed away in flowing water or liquid medicine. A correct angle of inclination of a line linking the lowest point on each respective razor blade and the lowest point on the rounded elongated lower member can be easily selected into between 20 and 30 degrees to fit the razor blades on the face of the skin for safe shaving of hair.
