Abstract: An end hook of a measuring tape has a bent end hook and a protective piece, each with at least one strike concave body slightly in a long elliptical shape disposed thereof respectively; a central hole is disposed on the strike concave body. Two long holes are disposed on the end portion of the rule strap opposite the end hook, corresponding to the strike concave body. The strike concave body on the end hook penetrates through the long hole of the rule strap and aligns with the upper aspect of the strike concave body of the protective piece. The rivet penetrates the long hole on the rule strap from the central hole and is riveted to the lower rim of the central hole of the protective piece thereby fastening the end hook and the protective piece into one unit.

Abstract: A tool for stripping a desired number of peels from a roll of paper includes a main body portion, a gauge and a stripping edge. The main body portion has a surface adapted to be gripped in the palm of a hand together with a generally planar face surface, a gauge projecting outwardly from the generally planar face of the main body portion by a distance selected to permit stripping the desired number of peels from the roll. The gauge is adapted to initiate a stripping operation by creating a gouge to the depth of the desired number of peels. The stripping edge is adapted for insertion into the gouge to the opposite edge of the roll in order to strip the desired number of peels. Also, a method of stripping a roll of paper of any damage and then stripping a desired number of peels from the roll includes the step of assessing the roll of paper for transit, plant or defective roll damage. Any damage to the roll is then stripped in incremental amounts until all such roll damage has been stripped.

Each of the buffer elements includes a non-magnetic housing having a compressible structure, and two permanent magnets vertically oppositely disposed in the housing. Inner sides of the two permanent magnets have the same polarity to produce a magnetic repulsive force between the two magnets to normally expand the compressible housing to its maximum volume. When the housing is subjected to an external pressure, the magnetic repulsive force between the two magnets supports the housing while allowing the same to elastically deform and absorb a reactive force from the ground, so that a buffer effect is obtained.

The control measure is based on the rate of cooling the vermin, object, etc., with the help of dry snow particles to which smaller and larger sizes are allocated within a selected range of sizes and velocities are allocated within a selected range of velocities. The arrangement and the application arc associated with advantages in the sense that environmentally friendly and rapid control is achieved, and in that an effectively functioning cooling system is obtained, which, by the gradual supply of snow, executes cooling through different velocities and sizes of the snow particles. Rapid cooling of a defined target can be obtained in this way. In an initial phase the small snow particles contribute most to the cooling by sublimating and giving off cold rapidly.

Abstract: A waterproof device arranged on an upper doorframe for a rolling barrier of the door consists of a fixing member securely attached on the upper doorframe and a rubber gasket member pivotally connected with the fixing member. The fixing member particularly has a cylindrical groove. The rubber gasket member is integrally formed with a cylindrical connecting portion pivotally fitted in the cylindrical groove and a tongue-like extension portion extended through an opening of the cylindrical groove. The length of the tongue-like extension portion is larger than a distance between the fixing member and the rolling barrier. When the rolling barrier is drawn downward, a retaining block formed on the rolling barrier presses tightly against an inner side surface of an outer end of the extension portion, therefore the upper doorframe of the rolling barrier is prevented from being penetrated by rain water.

Abstract: A gasket-like device includes an elongated core, an outer jacket of glass fiber yarns, woven, preferably braided, entirely around and along the core. Each of the glass fiber yarns has an outer surface exposed to view with a polymeric resin coating in an amount sufficient to at least cover essentially all of an outer surface of each yarn exposed on the device and insufficient to obscure the plurality of individual glass fiber yarns from one another in the outer jacket. The outer covering may be coated with a colored polymeric resin to produce a desired exterior color. In a described embodiment for self-cleaning ovens, a plurality of individual fasteners are spaced along the device. Each fastener includes a base captured within the outer jacket and an engagement portion extending outwardly from the base through the outer jacket. A method of manufacturing and coloring the gasket-like device is also disclosed.

Abstract: Techniques are described for constructing geodesic dome structures. For example, a method includes connecting a set of temporary spacers to a set of connectors. The spacers arrange the connectors in space so that the connectors are referenced with respect to one another to form the geometries of a geodesic dome. The method may further include making the temporary geodesic dome structure permanent. The techniques described may allow the construction of a geodesic dome structure of precisely controlled dimensions with relatively small numbers of people and little strenuous labor.

Abstract: Methods for bending preformed thermoplastic extrusions having at least one cavity comprise filling at least one of the extrusion cavities with polymer foam and curing the foam within the filled cavity. An extrusion is heated to allow plastic deformation and then smoothly bent over a mandrill to impart a desired curved shape. Following cooling to below the extrusion's plastic deformation temperature on the mandrill, smoothly curved extrusions are removed for cooling to room temperature. Cured polymer foam within an extrusion cavity resists distortion of the cavity during the bending process.

Abstract: A plastic window assembly is adapted to be mounted in an opening defined by a structure. The plastic window assembly is oval-shaped with a decorative plastic window muntin. A plastic frame supports parallel window panes. The window muntin is disposed between the parallel window panes. Flat surfaces of the window muntin have a first edge and a second edge and include a ridge disposed along each of the edges. Marring of the window panes is prevented because the ridge provides for line contact between the window muntin and the window panes. The window muntin may also be integrally molded to a plastic pane disposed between the parallel panes of glass. The plastic pane includes a surface texture that simulates frosted glass. The plastic window assembly includes a plurality of liner panels that extend through the opening from an interior of the structure. The window assembly includes a flange having aperture throughwhich fasteners are inserted to secure the window assembly to the structure.
