Abstract: A pair of hospital shorts having releasable fasteners such as snaps along the inseam or inner thigh portions of the shorts and along the midline or fly of the shorts. With the fasteners unfastened the shorts are positioned laid out generally flat and approximately centered under the patient. The left and right ends of the shorts are then wrapped over the patient's lower torso, and the inseams and fly may be fastened to provide shorts that do not have to be pulled over the legs of the patient, and that are easily donned or put on the patient with minimal effort. An optional drawstring along an upper edge of the shorts may then be tied, to further secure the shorts about the patient. The fly and/or inseam fasteners may be selectively unfastened to provide access to the user as required, for example by medical personnel.

Abstract: The present invention is a multiple purpose glove for wearing on an individual's hand. The glove may be used in a variety of tasks where it is desirable to cover the skin from direct contact with materials being handled. In one embodiment of the invention, a collar extends around an opening on the glove to assist in everting the glove to an inside-out condition as the glove is removed from an individual's hand. The collar has one or more fasteners that permit the everted glove to be closed around objects, waste or other materials that are grabbed with the glove. The glove has an enlarged body to display a variety of indicia, including written information pertinent to the task being performed with the glove.

Abstract: A shock-absorbing protective cover for pneumatic tool handle is made of a rubber material having a predetermined thickness to define a central through hole, into which the handle of a pneumatic tool is positioned. The protective cover is provided at predetermined positions with axially extended slots, in each of which a plurality of pointed-topped protrusions are continuously provided to form a plurality of spaced inverted pyramidal recesses. The recesses reduce a coefficient of elasticity of the rubber material at areas of the protective cover being gripped by a user, so that the protective cover under an applied force quickly deforms and absorbs energy, and slowly restores from the deformation and releases energy to provide shock absorbing and damping effects.

Abstract: An eyeglasses holder that includes a frame and a displaceable holding member. The frame may be integrally formed from a single piece of flexible, resilient material such as plastic or metal. The frame includes a base section and a holding section. These sections are connected to one another at a first pair of their ends while a second end of one of the sections is separated the section to form an entrance. The sections define between them a receiving space that is opened at opposite sides. In one embodiment, the entrance is normally sufficiently closed to bar the crossed temple bars or arms of a pair of eyeglasses. The resiliency of the frame allows the entrance to be enlarged sufficiently to allow the arms to pass through the entrance and into the receiving space, and to later pass outwardly through the entrance.

Abstract: A tie strap is provided that is releasable by means of an extended, resilient locking tab within an aperture within a terminal on the strap. The opposite end of the tie strap can be threaded through the aperture in order to tie wires and other objects. The extended resilient locking tab is affixed to the tie strap within the terminal. An extended end of the locking tab can be grasped and pivoted such that the tab's locking tip is pulled out of a groove between retaining ridges on the strap. The strap can then be pulled through the aperture to loosen or release the tie strap. The base of the tab is thickened to a buttress where it adjoins the strap such that the tab can return to a locking position with its tip between retaining ridges on the strap, upon the tab being released by the user, despite the tab having been released a plurality of times.

Abstract: A bedding clamp for securing bedding such as a light blanket or sheet on a mattress at selected corners of a bed, which bedding clamp includes a pair of clamp members, each fitted with a clamp hinged to a clamp plate for clamping the bedding therebetween in a friction-fit and securing the bedding in place by means of a band connecting the clamp members and positioned beneath the corners of the mattress. In a preferred embodiment each clamp plate is characterized by a clamp hinged in a clamp opening in the clamp plate and shaped to define a resilient lobe to removably engage a corresponding receiver opening shaped in the clamp plate as the bedding is removably captured between the clamp and the receiver opening. The clamp members are typically connected by an elastic or resilient plastic band and may be quickly and easily manually opened and closed by means of clamp tabs to insert and remove the bedding from between the respective clamps and receiver openings.

Abstract: A concealed secure magnetic clasp for jewelry. Magnetic components are affixed to both free ends of a jewelry band, and a housing affixed to one end of the band conceals the magnetic components and accepts the other free end of the band. The housing is configured with internal dimensions that force optimal alignment of the magnetic components, and may be configured with design features on its exterior to enhance the visual appearance of the clasp assembly. The clasp may also include a mechanical lock. The magnetic attraction of the magnetic components assists in engaging and maintaining the mechanical lock.

Abstract: There is provided an improved tab member for a closure system comprising a tab portion and a slot member. The slot member includes a slit or a loop, with the slot located between an inboard portion and an outboard portion. The tab portion has a tab member having a length, an inner edge, an outer edge and at least one lip portion. The tab member outer edge is passed through the slot of the slot member to engage the fastening device. Once passed through the slot, at least one lip portion of the tab member overlaps or catches the outboard portion of the slot member to prevent the tab member from disengaging from the slot member. The slot member outward portion is retained between the lip portion(s) and the underlying generally flexible tab carrier substrate.

The unsnapping element includes two notched plates each attached at an angle to an arm having a grip at the end opposite the notched plate. The two arms are attached together by a hinge, and a spring located near the hinge provides sufficient force to keep the two notched plates together when the device is in the closed position. The user of the device simply places the unsnapping element between the head and base of a closed snap fastener and squeezes the grips together.
