Abstract: A method of manufacturing a monolithic silicon acceleration sensor is disclosed. The monolithic silicon acceleration sensor is micromachined from silicon to form one or more sensor cells, each sensor cell having an inertial mass positioned by beam members fixed to a silicon support structure. A sandwiched etch-stop layer is formed between a first silicon wafer section and a second silicon wafer section. A first section of the inertia mass and beam members are formed by etching a U-shaped channel and a bar-shaped channel in the first wafer section of the sandwiched layer to the etch-stop layer. A second section of the inertial mass is formed by aligning a frame-shaped channel in the second wafer section with the U-shaped channel and the bar-shaped channel in the first section, and etching the frame-shaped channel to the etch-stop layer. After stripping exposed etch-stop layer, an inertial mass positioned by beam members fixed to a silicon support structure is formed.

Abstract: The method makes it possible to form a stator of an electric motor by means of a multiple-slide press (21, 22, 23). The starting point is a bundle consisting of rectilinear segments of sheets obtained by stamping and welded. The stator is formed by means of four successive operations carried out by four groups of slides of a multiple-slide press and corresponding dies. The cylinder formed is subsequently welded along its joining generatrix and is calibrated in a hydraulic press.

  • Publication number: 20030229987
Abstract: A method for producing ring members, such as rings for rolling bearings, through use of a rolling operation involves warming a ring blank, positioning the warmed ring blank over a mandrel which is rotatable about a first axis, and positioning a forming roll rotatable about a second axis aligned with the first axis so as to form a rolling gap with the mandrel, with a portion of the ring blank being positioned in the rolling gap. The forming roll is driven to rotate in one rotary direction while the mandrel is driven to rotate in a rotary direction opposed to the rotary direction of the forming roll. During rotation of the forming roll and the mandrel, the mandrel is urged towards the forming roll to reduce the size of the rolling gap and thereby reduce the thickness of the ring blank while also increasing its diameter.

Abstract: A safety cutter with a retracting guard. The safety cutter has a blade permanently held to the blade handle. The blade has a point which extends beyond the handle and is surrounded by a retracting guard. When enabled, the guard retracts into the handle when the guard is pressed against an object to be cut, thereby exposing the point of the blade. The safety cutter is made so that it may be operated either by a right handed person or a left handed person by having a button on each side of the handle. A button override is also provided on each side of the handle so that the guard can be retracted by pressing only one of the buttons, since the other of the buttons is capable of being overridden. Preferably, a portion of the override can be removed so that the guard can only be released by pushing the push button.

The control surface and the chambers together define a region wherein the adjacent gas phases possess an amount of mass. Upon inducement of at least a portion of the mass within the region, the mass flow is controlled to significantly reduce dilution of the gas phase component in the adjacent gas phase. The mounting portion mounts to a merchandise display hook hanging on a wall with the intermediate portion extending above and supported by the hook so that the display portion extends downwards and forwards of the tip of the hook to display the pertinent merchandise information. The mounting portion has two wedge shaped protrusions, which fit between the hook and wall, and the intermediate portion has a raised portion, which increases the stiffness of the holder. These features help to prevent the holder from falling off the hook or hanging under the hook in the event that a customer accidentally bumps or brushes against the holder.

Abstract: A container identifier and method for identifying containers are provided. The container identifier may have a tab and a slit. The tab on the container identifier may have a grip located between the tab and in contact with the container. The container identifier distinguishes between beverage containers and, by use of the slit, may be adjusted to fit different size containers. The identifier may fit a container, such as, for example, a bottle or a can to identify a user of the container. The identifier may be shaped as a ring-like object, a helmet, an animal or the like. Further, the identifier may have indicia relating to, for example, products, a school, a team, an organization or the like.

Abstract: The invention is a firearm safety indicator that is spring-loaded, thus enabling self-ejection when a firearm's bolt is actuated. To attain this, the indicator comprises a main body and cantilever spring body joined together. A peg extends perpendicularly from the main body. In use, the peg is positioned inside the firing chamber of a firearm through the ejection port. The main body covers the ejection port and the cantilever spring body is therefore compressed to attain proper positioning. The rifle's bolt is then used to engage and hold the peg in place. When actuated, the bolt releases the peg and the spring body is released, thrusting the indicator away from the firearm. Alternately, a metal spring may be utilized in the place of the cantilever spring body.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for crowning a muzzle end of a firearm barrel includes inserting an elongated rod-like pilot stem with upper and lower ends into a barrel bore. The stem has an expandable collet slidably received thereon and a nut threadably attached to the lower end. A deformable body is attached to the nut to frictionally engage a bore wall to prevent rotation of the nut and permit rotation of the stem to expand the collet into contact with the bore wall. A cutting tool is rotated on the upper end of the stem to cut an end surface of the muzzle end.

Abstract: A firearm rail adapter system for mounting accessories on a firearm. The system comprises a first mount, a second mount, and an adapter rail. The first mount is adapted to be mounted to the firearm and has rail attachment sections thereon. The second mount is adapted to be mounted to the firearm and has other rail attachment sections thereon. The adapter rail is adapted to be removably mounted to at least one of the rail attachment sections of the first mount, and to at least one of the other rail attachment sections of the second mount. The rail attachment sections and the other rail attachment sections are disposed respectively on the first mount and second mount so that when the first mount and second mount are mounted to the firearm, the first mount and second mount provide a number of different selectable mounting stations for mounting the adapter rail to the firearm.

Abstract: A live trap and cage assembly has a base, opposing sidewalls and a central main support section. To either end of the sidewalls is a door. Each door is movable from an upper position to a lower position. The doors are configured so as to be quickly moveable from the upper position to the lower position upon the triggering of an event inside the assembly. The base of the assembly includes a bait reservoir or “billboard” which is situated to the exterior of the assembly, and a bait bolder and release mechanism which is situated to the interior of the assembly. The bait holder is suspended within the interior of the assembly by a cable which to extends downwardly from the central support of the assembly. The cable is attached to each of the opposing doors and allows full movement of each door from the upper position to the lower position.
