Abstract: The semiconductor device uses an insulating resin that contains at least a resin anti-repellent for adjusting wettability of the insulating resin. The insulating resin is applied on a circuit board, and a semiconductor element is placed thereon and pressed against it. The applied pressure pushes out a portion of the insulating resin under the semiconductor element. This portion of the insulating resin combines with a portion of the insulating resin around the semiconductor element to form a resin fillet on the side surfaces of the semiconductor element.

Abstract: A window-type semiconductor package and a fabrication method thereof are provided. A substrate having an opening is mounted with at least a chip in a manner that, a conductive area of an active surface of the chip is exposed to the opening, and electrically connected to the substrate by bonding wires formed through the opening. A non-conductive material is applied over the conductive area of the chip. An upper encapsulant is formed to encapsulate the chip, and a lower encapsulant is formed to encapsulate the bonding wires and the non-conductive material. The non-conductive material interposed between the chip and the lower encapsulant helps prevent the chip from cracking at end portions thereof due to shrinkage of the lower encapsulant, and also helps secure the bonding wires in position within the opening of the substrate without causing wire-sweeping, such that reliability and yield of the semiconductor package can be assured.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for indirect evaporative air cooling with the use of plates, heat exchangers and feeder wicks on the indirect evaporative type. Several components for an indirect evaporative heat exchanger described as follows: A plate for an indirect evaporative heat exchanger where the plate is made of laminate material comprising one sheet of wicking material for wet zone(s) and the other of a water proof plastic material for the dry zone(s). An evaporative heat exchanger is created by assembling the plates forming spacing for wet channels, (they are created by the wet zone of the plates,) and dry channels, (they are created by the dry zone of the plates,) with channel guides or corrugated plates. The spacing between the plates is defined to reduce pressure drop for increased airflow. A feeder wick system creates the wetting of the wet channels without excess water.

Abstract: A rotary clutch device includes: a tooth-partially-lacking gear that can mesh with a drive gear and is given initial rotation force; a rotatable cam body that is concentric with the tooth-partially-lacking gear, having an engagement step; and an elastic body. An engagement lever is engaged with and disengaged from the engagement step according to an intermittent operation of an actuator so that the tooth-partially-lacking gear starts and stops to rotate. Rotation force of the tooth-partially-lacking gear is transmitted to the cam body via the elastic body.

Abstract: A paper returner is placed in the vicinity of an end portion of a hopper for stacking a plurality of sheets of paper which faces a paper feeding roller, so as to be pivotable between a first position where the paper returner constitutes a part of the paper transporting passage, and a second position where the paper returner is isolated from the paper transporting passage. A separation pad is provided on a first face of the paper returner. The separation pad has a friction coefficient which is higher than a friction coefficient of the first face of the paper returner. The paper returner is placed at the first position so that a top sheet of paper in the hopper is abutted against the paper feeding roller, and is separated from other sheets of paper by the separation pad. The paper returner is placed at the second position so that the first face of the paper returner returns sheets of paper, which are entered in the paper transporting passage-together with the sheet of paper to be fed, to the hopper.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention comprises a apparatus for stacking mailpieces comprising elongated intermittently rotating S-elements, one of the rotating S-elements has an S-shaped cross section, the other of the rotating S-elements has a mirror image of the S-shape cross section. In the preferred embodiment, a new mailpiece to be stacked enters the stacker below the top curve of the rotating S-shaped elements, and above the shelf-like center portion of the S-shaped elements. The imaged portion of the mailpiece (i.e. the top side) does not contact the stack or the S-shaped elements while being moved into the stacker. The likelihood of smearing is greatly reduced. Once the new mailpiece is moved into the area below the stack and between the two rotating S-shaped elements, the two elements are rotated. This action lifts the new mailpiece upward directly into contact with the bottom of the stack, thus lifting the entire stack by the thickness of the new mailpiece.

Abstract: A paper detecting apparatus capable of detecting the presence of the paper in the paper feed cassette and paper being fed along a duplex printing paper path by using a single sensor in an image forming machine having a duplex image forming function and feeding paper using a paper feed cassette. A paper detecting apparatus of an image forming machine according to the present invention includes an actuator pivotably disposed above a paper feed cassette in which paper is stacked and below a duplex printing paper path along which a first side copy moves and moved by the paper, and a paper sensor disposed next to the actuator that senses movement of the actuator and generates a signal, wherein the actuator pivots in a predetermined angle when no paper is stacked in the paper feed cassette or paper is being fed along the duplex printing paper path, and the paper sensor generates a signal upon sensing the pivoting actuator.
