Publication number: 20040088125Abstract: A measurement system for analyzing data values that are stored in memory and that represent a sampled electrical signal under analysis (SUA). Each of the data values represents the SUA at respective points in time over a time interval during which the SUA was sampled. The stored data values constitute a main data record. The system includes processing logic that is configured to generate at least a first reduced data record from the main data record. The first reduced data record comprises a subset of the data values of the main data record. The first reduced data record is processed by the processing logic to locate an edge (i.e., a voltage transition) in the first reduced data record. Thus, it is not necessary that the main data record, which is more voluminous than the first reduced data record, be used to locate the edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventors: Christopher P. Publication number: 20040088133Abstract: Access to the XAUI lanes of a 10 Gigabit Ethernet device is provided when needed for testing of the XAUI electrical interface. Access is provided by extending the XAUI interface contained in a XENPAK interface connector. An embodiment of the present invention uses an extension of the XENPAK connector to generate and receive XAUI signals thus making it possible for any device with a XENPAK connector to become a XUAI tester with minimal components between the test equipment and the device under test. The reduction of components (only an AC-Coupling capacitor resides between the XENPAK connector and the SMA connector) results in significant reduction in insertion loss and signal degradation. Also, the availability of any device with a XENPAK interface as a XAUI tester eliminates any requirement for specialized test equipments. The XAUI Extender card fits in the slot in the test equipment that would normally house the XENPAK module.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventor: Ricardo O. Publication number: 20040088148Abstract: The invention provides a system for network simulation utilizing network decomposition. The network is decomposed into parts and is simulated independently and concurrently with the others. The simulation is suspended or frozen and these parts exchange information periodically about the packet delays and drop rates along the paths within each part. Each part iterates over the selected simulated time interval until the exchanged information changes less than the prescribed tolerance. Each decomposed part may represent a subnet or a sub-domain of the entire network, thereby mirroring the network structure in the simulation design. The system is independent of the simulator technique employed to run simulators of the parts of the decomposed network. In other words, the present system provides for an efficient parallelization of network simulation based on convergence to the fixed-point solution of inter-part traffic. The system can be used in all applications in which the speed of the simulation is crucial.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2003Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventors: Boleslaw K. Publication number: 20040088151Abstract: Stimulation signals (22) are applied to a first circuit model (20) and the power behaviour of the circuit being modelled is determined from the behaviour of the first circuit model (20). In parallel, the same stimulation signals (22) are applied to a second circuit model (26) and the state variable changes within that second circuit model are calculated. The calculated power behaviour and the calculated state variable changes are then applied as training data inputs to a self learning power model, such as a neural network (28), which learns the relationship between state variable changes between the second model (26) and power behaviour of the circuit being simulated. In this way, a detailed first circuit model (20) may be used to calculate power behaviour and to train a separate power model (28, 30) which once trained can be publicly released without having to release sensitive information within the first circuit model (20).Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventors: John Mark Burton, Syed Samin Ishtiaq

Publication number: 20040088168Abstract: A system and method for voice transmission over high level network protocols. On the Internet and the World Wide Web, such high level protocols are HTTP/TCP. The restrictions imposed by firewalls and proxy servers are avoided by using HTTP level connections to transmit voice data. In addition, packet delivery guarantees are obtained by using TCP instead of UDP. Variable compression based on silence detection takes advantage of the natural silences and pauses in human speech, thus reducing the delays in transmission caused by using HTTP/TCP. The silence detection includes the ability to bookend the voice data sent with small portions of silence to insure that the voice sounds natural. Finally, the voice data is transmitted to each client computer, independently from a common circular list of voice data, thus insuring that all clients will stay current with the most recent voice data. The combination of these features enables simple, seamless, and interactive Internet conferencing.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2003Publication date: May 6, 2004Applicant: Raindance Communications, Inc.Inventors: Andrew W. Publication number: 20040088169Abstract: Efficient recursive audio processing of one or more input data streams using a multistage processor for performing one or more predetermined functions and programmable audio effects. A first stage performs a first predetermined function, such as frequency shifting function. Intermediate results are preferably mixed. The second stage applies programmable audio effects to the mixed data, such as a reverberation effect, and stores the second stage output in a destination mix bin. The second stage output is preferably transferred to a main memory accessible to a primary processor. The second stage output is directed back to the first stage of the multistage processor to perform a second predetermined function, such as three dimensional spatialization. The primary processor modifies parameters of the first predetermined function to efficiently perform dynamic operations, such as Doppler shifts and volume transitions between multiple sound sources and a mixture of those sounds as a single point source.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventors: Derek H. Publication number: 20040088172Abstract: A method and apparatus for real estate agent selection based on real estate agent data based on performance. An apparatus for real estate real estate agent selection includes at least one real estate customer, a real estate server, and a real estate agent database. A method for real estate agent selection provides at least one real estate customer, a real estate server communicatively connected to the at least one real estate customer, and a real estate agent database communicatively connected to the real estate server, and accesses the real estate agent database and determines at least one real estate agent based on received seller or buyer input data, the received real estate property data associated with the received selling or buying input data, and received real estate agent customer data, the at least one real estate agent having earned more than a predetermined amount during a designated time period.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventor: Martin A. Publication number: 20040088173Abstract: A process and method that provides an individual with the ability to initiate a web page-based, internet background search for information that will be provided to an employer, landlord, or other user of such information. The process accomplishes the search and establishes a data file with verified information that may be accessed by authorized users to verify background information that may be desirable or detrimental in the user's environment. The process allows users to refer candidates to a source that will provide background information in a timely manner and is affordable to most candidates. The candidate has the option of printing out a Certificate from mbc that is a uniquely numbered certification of the background search. Candidate background search information is accessible to employers, landlords, and other users when candidates provide users with certificate number and password.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventor: Robert Mather

Publication number: 20040088174Abstract: A method, system, business method, and computer program product for retrieving and organizing networked data, wherein fetch rules and extraction rules enable a user to automatically collect and extract information from a remote network site. The fetch rules reproduce the interaction a client executes if interacting directly with the remote site, so a server cannot be shut out. The extraction rules allow the client, preferably via an applet, to glean relevant information from the acquired pages for presentation in a general interface. As an electronic commerce business method, information about remote site responsiveness, fetch rules, and extraction rules may be shared between server and client for a fee. The server accumulates vendor contacts, stores query rules, and provides common interface rules. The invention can gather statistics on vendor responsiveness and can resell information to vendors or others.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventors: Rakesh Agrawal, Amit Somani
