  • Patent number: 6743041
Abstract: The invention pertains to an adaptor for inserting lamps with pin bases into screw bases, the task of which is to make it impossible to screw out the adaptor without special tools after it has been inserted into the screw base. This task is achieved by the invention by arranging the thread of the adaptor on a loosely rotating threaded bushing which can be rigidly connected with the adaptor body by means of a key before screwing in the adaptor. After the adaptor has been screwed in and the key has been removed, the threaded bushing cannot be removed from the socket.

  • Patent number: 6743042
Abstract: A contact clip for an insulated, multi-strand electric cable has first and second clip parts engaging one another. The first clip part has a receptacle for correctly positioning the cable and the second clip part has contact pins assigned to a strand of the cable, respectively. The contact pins pierce the cable insulation and electrically contact the strands of the cable. They are positioned transversely to a longitudinal cable direction adjacent to and at a spacing from one another. This spacing matches the strand spacing. The receptacle is wider than the cable in the transverse cable direction. A fitting member is inserted into the receptacle for determining a lateral position of the cable in the receptacle. A first contact pin, depending on the lateral position of the cable within the receptacle, either engages one of the strands of the cable or the fitting member.

Abstract: A portable precision flange grinder grinds a flange on a duct. The flange has an axis, a radius, and a periphery. A mount mounts the grinder within the duct. The mount attaches to openings at ends of the duct. A grinding wheel grinds a flange on a duct and arranged to rotate along a periphery of the flange. A first linkage translates the grinding wheel along an axis of the flange to bring the grinding wheel laterally in grinding contact with the flange. The first linkage engages with the mount along an axis of the flange. A second linkage translates the grinding wheel along a radius of the flange bringing the grinding wheel radially in grinding contact with the flange. The second linkage attaches to the first linkage. A bearing assembly rotates the grinding wheel about the periphery of the flange. The bearing assembly is attached to the first linkage.

Abstract: A method of preparing a polishing pad of a hydrophobic material for a polishing procedure includes, prior to the polishing procedure, contacting the polishing pad with a solution of at least one component for converting at least a portion of a polishing surface, including pores therein if porous, of the polishing pad from hydrophobic to hydrophilic, and maintaining the polishing pad in a wet state between the contacting step and the polishing procedure. New hydrophobic polishing pads are thus efficiently seasoned (broken in) for subsequent use in planarizing a semiconductor substrate surface.

Abstract: With the blasting apparatus in which the injection nozzle is disposed to inject the blast material against the work pieces from the outside of the tubular barrel formed of the mesh net for accommodation of the work pieces and rotatable about the center axis, the work pieces can be stirred homogenously and efficiently without excessive occurrence of the collision of the work pieces against one another and without occurrence of the collision of the work pieces against one another and with a strong shock force. Therefore, the treating efficiency is enhanced and, it is possible to inhibit the occurrence of the cracking and breaking of the work pieces. Further, with the blasting apparatus in which the tubular barrel is supported circumferentially outside the center axis of the support member rotatable about the center axis, it is possible to more inhibit the occurrence of the cracking and breaking of the work pieces.

Abstract: An emery polishing machine is provided with plural adjusting devices positioned between the opposite shaft ends of two emery polishing wheels and machine box. The adjusting devices enable the two emery-polishing wheels to be micro-adjusted to move upward and downward independently. Emery paper tapes of different-sized sands can be fitted on the two emery-polishing wheels to carry out rough and fine polishing at the same time. Two dust-collecting pipes are provided at one side of the dust-preventing cover of the machine box, and plural rollers are provided on the dust-preventing cover. Thus, after a wooden board has one side polished, it can be turned over and directly placed on the rollers on the dust-preventing cover to be moved in a feeding opening to have the other side polished. Thus a wooden board is quickly moved with less force and less space.

Abstract: A holder for an abrasive disc allows for a quick manual change of the abrasive disc. The holder including an uncoupling mechanism that in turn includes a handle comprising a pin and an adjacent hub comprising a partial annular channel. The handle and hub have a limited rotational engagement wherein the pin travels in the channel. When an operator desires to replace an abrasive disc, the operator grasps the handle with one hand and rotates the disc, face plate, and hub, together as a unit, with the other hand. This counter-rotation breaks the tight attachment of the disc on the shaft of the finishing tool, so that disc can be easily unthreaded from the shaft.
