Abstract: The invention relates to a stop device (1). The control element (2) of said stop device, which is provided with notches (5), can be displaced past a fixed stop member (6) comprising a stop element (8) which supports itself in an elastic manner on a cam plate (3) of the regulating element (2). Said stop element (8) is held on an elastically positioned base part (7) of the stop member (6) in the direction of regulation, in such a way that it can be deviated. When a summit (4) of the cam plate (3) is passed, the restoring force of the stop element (8) causes a secure engagement in the following notch (4).

A pair of side wall surfaces (18) of each of six radially outwardly projecting, torque transmitting portions (16) lie on straight lines passing through the center line (O) in a cross section perpendicular to the center line (O) so as to transmit torque through the side wall surface (18), whereby the direction of a surface orthogonal force N applied to a force-applied point P by a wrenching tool coincides with the direction of an effective wrenching force F. This arrangement reduces an operation force required for rotating the wrenching tool and accordingly the load acting on each of the torque transmitting portions, in comparison with a conventional hexagonal head (100). That is, it is possible to reduce the diameter of the head portion (12) of the threaded fastener (10) and the size and weight of the head portion (12), while avoiding deformation of the side wall surfaces (18) through which the torque is transmitted.

Abstract: Disclosed is a coupler that grips the internal surface of a torque receptor such as a pipe or driveshaft to be turned. When torque is applied to the coupler, one or more gripping surfaces are forced apart by a cam mechanism. The gripping surfaces tightly engage the internal surface of the pipe in response to movement of an internal cam. Torque applied to the wrench causes the pipe to turn. Because the wrench grips the internal diameter of a torque receptor, it can be used without damaging the external surface of the torque receptor, and used in very confined spaces. The gripping surfaces distribute the gripping load evenly across the pipe, which minimizes any deformation of the pipe. The pipe is engaged by the gripping surfaces beyond the threaded portion of the pipe, where the pipe has more structure, to prevent ovaling.

A control section causes a cut-forming machine installed at a cut-forming location to form a cut in a resin layer of a disk-shaped substrate, then causes an indexing mechanism to rotate a transfer stage to thereby transfer the disk-shaped substrate formed with the cut to a central hole-forming location, and then causes a punching machine to punch a central hole.

Abstract: There is provided a cut-forming machine which is capable of preventing movement of a substrate caused by movement of a cut-forming blade section, a vertical movement mechanism moves at least one of a table for supporting a disk-shaped substrate and a cut-forming blade section toward the other of them, thereby pushing the cut-forming blade section into a light transmission layer of the substrate. A spring urges an urging portion disposed in a central portion of the cut-forming blade section, from at least a time point of completion of pushing the cut-forming blade section into the light transmission layer to a time point of removal of the cut-forming blade section from the light transmission layer, thereby causing the urging portion to urge a central portion of the disk-shaped substrate toward the table.

Abstract: A device for patterning an optical element includes a working platform, a linear cutting pedestal, at least a cutting tool, at least a weight sliding block and a shaft. An optical element to be patterned is carried on the working platform. The working platform is driven to move horizontally. The linear cutting pedestal is mounted above the working platform. An upper sliding track in which the weight sliding blocks can move back and forth and provide appropriate press forces to the cutting tools, is disposed at the top of the linear cutting pedestal. A lower sliding track in which the cutting tools can move back and forth and be adjusted to appropriate positions according to patterns desired for the optical element, is disposed at the bottom of the linear cutting pedestal. The shaft is positioned above the linear cutting pedestal and drives the linear cutting pedestal to move vertically.

Abstract: A drum head is broken down into a head body, which in turn is broken down into a solid portion and an accumulating portion, and a rigid base plate; the solid portion offers a beaten surface to a drummer, and the accumulating portion or an array of pillars and the base plate form in combination a locally vibratory portion; when a drummer strikes the beaten surface with a stick, the solid portion caves in for accumulating a part of the impact load, and gives rise to resilient deformation of the pillars beneath the cave so that another part of the impact load is accumulated in the deformed pillars as the elastic strain energy; the elastic strain energy is released through the local vibrations of the pillars, and the vibration energy is transmitted to a small amount of the air therearound so that the noise is faint.

Abstract: To purchase music online, a user becomes a member to a site which fulfils orders. An announcement is posted to members of a future release of a first song as performed by a first recording artist. Preorders are accepted from members indicating an intent to download the first song upon release for a fee. Verification is performed to determine that the member is eligible to submit the preorder. The preorders are tallied. A minimum volume of preorders is set. After the minimum volume is met, the first song is released. Members' accounts are charged the fee to access the song. By setting the minimum volume, a threshold revenue level is achieved for release of the first song assuring an established artist a minimum revenue regardless of any pirating that might occur after the release.
