  • Patent number: 6799492
Abstract: A ratchet wrench for turning threaded fasteners, particularly fasteners threaded on a stud or pipe located in areas of limited or obstructed access to the fastener. The wrench is operated remotely at an end of the wrench away from a fastener engagement portion. The wrench includes a side mounted actuator assembly which allows a moveable jaw to open and close around the fastener. A closing bias force is maintained on the movable upper jaw by a spring included in the actuator assembly. The closing bias force allows a fastener to be held in position for rotation and when exceeded, allows the movable upper jaw to ratchet around the fastener. The engagement portion of the wrench may be configured with either a hexagonal or dodecahedral shaped opening. When operatively engaged with the fastener, the wrench fully encompasses the fastener to limit slippage.

A reinforcement disk is advantageously at least partially embedded in a sabot base and has a central aperture and a plurality of additional apertures. Sabot base material extends through the additional apertures. Advantageously, in its relaxed condition, each sabot petal includes a protrusion from its inboard surface for engaging a projectile ogive. The protrusion and its contact area with the projectile are fractions of the local petal width.

  • Patent number: 6799523
Abstract: Pull-out shelf for mounting on rack uprights, comprising two brackets (4) projecting from the uprights. Each bracket bears a pullout rail (7) and a shelf plane (8-12) or equivalent, supported by the rails, for articles which are to be placed on the shelf. The shelf comprises at least one releasable locking member which, when an associated operating member (18) is acuated manaully, releases the pull-out rails (7), so that these can be pulled out and pushed in, and, in the unactuated state, locks the rails relative to the brackets (4). The locking members are adapted so as, when the operating member is unactuated, to lock the rails under the action of a spring force, the manual actuation of the operating member taking place counter to the action of this spring force. Releasing the operating member then results in instantaneous locking of the rails and thus the shelf in the current position, which allows stepless locking of the shelf in optional positions between an inner and an outer end position.

Abstract: Methods of increasing the throughput of recovery boilers equipped with at least three levels of injection of air with oxygen enrichment of the air in at least one air level. In one method, a black liquor recovery boiler has three levels of air injection, and oxygen enrichment is applied to at least the secondary and the tertiary air injection levels. In another method, a black liquor recovery boiler has four levels of air injection, and oxygen enrichment is applied to one or more of the tertiary or quaternary air injection levels. In another method, a black liquor boiler has three levels of air injection, with oxygen enrichment applied to at least two air injection levels. After combustion, the oxygen concentration in the resultant flue gas is sensed. The oxygen injection is then adjusted in order to maintain the sensed oxygen concentration at the previously selected oxygen set point.

Abstract: A simple, relatively inexpensive, yet effective PLD method is provided for forming extremely clean films with reduced particulate densities and size. A PLD system is used for producing the thin films and includes a PLD chamber wherein a laser beam ablates a target material creating an ionized plasma plume of ions and electrons which is diverted and deposited onto a substrate using a confinement magnet and a deflection magnet. Each of the confinement magnet and the deflection magnet generates an axial magnetic field which is generally parallel to the laser beam plume ejection direction. The charged constituents of the plume are influenced by the magnetic fields and are thus deflected to the substrate, while the larger atomic clusters and particulates are advantageously not deflected. An electric field can also be used to aid in the deflection of the charged plume species. The electric field can be separately modulated to control the film deposition onto the substrate.
