Abstract: A motor condition detection apparatus detects motor driving voltage of driving electric source supplied to a motor and detects voltage of a control device for driving and controlling the motor. The apparatus calculates voltage difference between the motor driving voltage and the voltage of the control device. The apparatus provisionally determines the motor locking condition based on the voltage difference during driving of the motor and the apparatus stops driving the motor after the motor locking condition is provisionally determined. The apparatus detects regenerative voltage of the motor when driving of the motor is stopped and finally determines the motor locking condition based on the regenerative voltage.

Abstract: A device for de-energizing an energized branch electrical circuit is described, as well as related processes. The device includes a circuit breaker, which itself includes a breaker switch, an input terminal for receiving current, and an output terminal for directing current out of the breaker. A plug is also incorporated into the device, so that the device can be inserted into an electrical receptacle in the branch electric circuit. One or more power indicators, such as an LED light or voltmeter, are also incorporated into the device. When the device is plugged into a receptacle of the branch circuit, the breaker switch can then be turned on, resulting in a short-circuit, which de-energizes the branch electrical circuit. The device may also include a holder, which is capable of retaining at least one electrical adapter.

Abstract: A protection circuit for a power switching device of the type configured to supply load current to an electrical load from a voltage source. The protection circuit includes a voltage drop sensing circuit connected in parallel with the switching device to sense a voltage drop across the switching device. A limit circuit is connected to the voltage drop sensing circuit and operates to inhibit further flow of load current through the switching device in relation to the sensed voltage drop. The limit circuit limits the load current to different maximum values for different sensed voltage drop values. This enables the load current to be limited to a lower value in the event an electrical short occurs across the load, reducing the amount of power dissipated by the switching device.

The apparatus comprises a heat sink base for collecting thermal heat. The apparatus further comprises a fin thermally coupled to the heat sink base for dissipating the thermal heat. The fin is arranged in the chassis to direct air flow from a first direction, that is originally directed at said fin, to a second direction.

Abstract: A cooling system for a computer transfers heat away from a power supply and/or a central processing unit (CPU) in the computer. In an embodiment, heat is drawn away from the CPU to a heat sink by way of a heat pipe and a base member. In another, the heat sink is installed parallel to a power supply unit within the computer, and a fan is installed between the power supply and the heat sink.

Abstract: A first printed circuit board is built including one or more openings configured to correspond to heat-generating devices attached to a second printed circuit board. The first and second printed circuit boards are aligned with each other and a heat sink, such that the heat sink is thermally coupled with heat-generating electronic devices on both the first and second printed circuit boards. Heat-generating devices are thermally coupled with a thermal pad on one or more of the printed circuit boards. The thermal pad is then thermally coupled with the heat sink. Optionally, the first and second printed circuit boards may be electrically coupled with each other through an electrical connector.

Abstract: A package for high frequency usages 10 has a notched area 16 on each longitudinal end of a substantially rectangular heat sink plate 11 for fastening the package to a base 20 with a screw. The package includes a joined member 17 formed by joining a surface of a ring-like frame member 12 made of a ceramic material to the longitudinal center of a surface of heat sink plate 11 and joining another surface to an external connection terminal 15. The other surface of heat sink plate 11 presents a curved protruding shape 18 bowing from its longitudinal ends toward its longitudinal center, so that curved protruding shape 18 causes at least an area of the other surface heat sink plate 11 that corresponds to an area dedicated for mounting a semiconductor device 19 within ring-like frame member 12 to make a close contact with base 20 when the package is fastened to base 20 by the screw at notched areas 16.

Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit arrangement in which each circuit component (15) is electrically connected to a conductor track (60) of a flexible conductor track support (6). The flexible conductor track support is arranged, together with the circuit components connected thereto, in a folded configuration inside an interior space (70) of a liquid-tight housing (7). This interior space is filled with a cooling liquid (8), which is not electrically conductive and is contact with all circuit components (15). This enables the circuit arrangement to be provided with a compact design while being relatively small, and all components, including the passive ones, are equally cooled. The invention is provided for use in lamp ballasts.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to propose a sheet computer that eliminates the drawback in operational speed caused by clock delays of a system clock and that is capable of high speed operation. In order to achieve this object, in the sheet computer of the present invention, a display circuit and peripheral circuits connected to the display circuit are fabricated on the same substratum and the peripheral circuits constitute an asynchronous system without global clocking. In the asynchronous system, processes constituting minimum function circuits perform mutual handshaking by channels and drive events actively or passively. The asynchronous system does not use global clocking and it is therefore possible to implement lower power consumption and a higher operational speed.

The vibration damping feature preferably is in the form of a plurality of crush ribs provided on the periphery of an upper disk of the spool assembly adjacent the joints.
