Abstract: The current invention describes a tool mounting device that permits a rotating attachment of a tool to an excavator arm in such a way that the tool can be used for work in relatively small work spaces, independent of the alignment of the excavator arm and the excavator.

Abstract: A method for the treatment of covering materials for use with a vehicle component, in particular for pieces of trim or vehicle seats, whereby the moisture content of the covering material is temporarily increased, such that the covering material is softened in a treatment chamber by the introduction of moisture and then smoothed by the action of a drawing force extending the covering material is disclosed. A vehicle component treated by the above method, in particular seats, roof linings, and trim pieces for motor vehicles is further disclosed.

Abstract: An assembly is provided for mounting a monitoring device on a license plate of a vehicle. The assembly comprises a frame and a fixing device. The frame comprises a hole surrounding a monitoring device. The fixing device is for fixing the frame on the license plate to position the monitoring device on and adjacent to the boundary of the license plate. The assembly may further comprise a spacer between the hole and the rear of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system for displaying multiple packages for purchase by consumers. A segmented display is provided that identifies characteristics of a single entity and codes each segment of the segmented display to differentiate each characteristic from other characteristics of the segmented display. Multiple packages are positioned proximate the segmented display, each of the multiple packages further exhibiting at least one of the codes to enable a consumer to associate a package with a characteristic of the entity.

Abstract: A method that elevates, orients, and immobilizes decorative glass items in an arrangement using crystal containers provides displays, decoration, and ornamentation. Containers may be stacked to provide variability. An assembly cushion helps to orient containers for more variety in the displays.

Abstract: An emergency information sign (10) comprising a base substrate (12) and an indicia layer (14) positioned over the base substrate (12). Exposed areas (24) of the base substrate (12) and covering areas (26) of the indicia layer (14) together form emergency information indicia. The base substrate (12) and the indicia layer (14) each carry phosphorescent materials (20, 22), which absorb and store light from a primary light source (16/18) and emit this stored light during dark conditions.

Abstract: A preportioning bag used in food operations where a bulk food supply is divided into portions of smaller size, individual portions are located in a bag, and the bag is stored for use at a later date. The bag includes a front wall and a back wall that are joined so that a main body having closed side and bottom edges is defined. Multiple vents in the form of semi-circular slits are formed in the front and back walls of the bag. The front and back walls are constructed of a material that will withstand freezing and heating by microwave or steam. The bag features a day of the week printed thereon and is color-coded accordingly. A set of the bags may be mounted on a saddle structure.

Abstract: A bracelet for calculating food choices is formed by a plurality of food squares that represent a food category and record daily food choices there through. A top cover opens in a revealing manner to expose the functioning part that is underlying. Using this configuration the food squares that represent a food category are in the start position hence, the unconsumed row that is parallel to the start row, therefore indicating the wearer of food eaten and also indicating food that needs to be eaten due to the fact of food squares remaining in the start row. This way the food squares are visual and can be kept track of through the day. The food squares are divided into 5 categories, protein, carbohydrates, fruit, vegetables and dairy. According to an individual needs they will assign themselves numerous food squares of each category to their particular nutritional daily needs. The method of having the food squares all in the start row in the beginning of the day and as the day progresses and food is eaten.

The device includes an adhesive layer on a rear surface of the rear member, allowing it to be mounted on a substantially smooth mounting surface. In different embodiments the adhesive layer is permanently or removably adhesive.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multipart business form that includes at least one removable and potentially formable identification card, band, tag or badge on one portion of the substrate and at least one separable postcard on the second portion of the multipart business form. The postcard portion can be used as a response piece, request for information or simply as a remembrance piece for an event which triggered the issuance of the identification portion.

Abstract: The present invention provides a decorative picture/photo frame mat that can be made at a low cost with an appealing appearance. In one preferred embodiment, the frame mat comprises one layer of polystyrene and at least one layer of paint/coating. The present invention also provides methods for manufacturing the frame mat. The manufacturing method includes the steps of forming a polystyrene foam sheet, casting patterns/shapes on the sheet, cutting/trimming the sheet to desirable size and dimension, and coating/painting the cut/trimmed sheet.

A sensor portion provides sensor information representing an orientation of the device, and an electronic control portion is responsive to sensor information from the sensor portion and a range from the range portion for calculating how to hit the target with each of first and second munitions that are different.

Abstract: This device is intended to make fishing activity easier. Since fishing mechanisms have been improved from pre-fishing such as baits, fishing outfits to fishing period such as hooks and rods, this device is intended to be used during the post-fishing or after the fish has been caught. The common predicament after the fish has been caught is how to easily get the fish off the hook without hurting oneself or losing the catch. As the fish is caught, it secretes a slippery liquid to free itself from the handgrip. This practice leads to a difficult and a messy catch. The Fish Gripper is then devised to come up with a firm grip to assure that the fish doesn't slip out of a bare hand clutch.

Abstract: A fish net, comprising a frame, and a net, attached to the frame, and including a length measuring scale disposed on the net, configured to allow a user to determine a size of a fish held in the net by visually comparing the fish with the length measuring scale. In one embodiment the length markings include a zero point near the bottom of the net, with two coordinated scales sharing the zero point and extending in opposing directions therefrom, such that a user may visually determine the length of the fish by aligning the fish with the length scale, and adding the numeral designations which are aligned with opposing ends of the fish.

Abstract: A fishing rod holding apparatus which enables the fisherman to resist lateral and twisting loads imposed on the rod by a fish which is pulling the line from one side to the other. The apparatus comprises a forearm mounting section which is connected securely to the forearm, and a hand engagement section which engages the person's hand and also enables a gripping of the handle of the rod. The hand engagement apparatus is able to rotate about a side-to-side axis of rotation, but limits movement about a back-and-forth axis of rotation.

Abstract: The fishing device of the present invention provides a parachute on the fishing line for use with large game fish. The parachute is enclosed in a container and released upon hooking a fish. The parachute provides a drag for the fish. The drag slows the fish and tires it more quickly. The slower speeds of the fish caused by the drag help prevent loss of the fish due to line breakage, hook release, or lack of line. The fishing device may also function as a lure.

Abstract: Device for winding and unwinding the lower part of fishing line (cast) is a part of equipment for fishing with hook, by which it is solved the problem of visibility in water of lower reinforced parts of lines made of materials visible in water. These parts represent one of the most loaded parts of fishing equipment, because they are subjected to big tensile and gliding stresses. FIG. 3. shows the device (1) consisting of a two-part housing in which there is the hollow cylinder (14) on which the reinforced lower part of the line (21) is wound by means of a blade coil spring (15). In the stage of attracting the fish, the reinforced lower part of the line (21) remains invisible and in the stage of swallowing, tearing and pulling the bait with the device (1), reinforced lower part of the line (21) is pulled out of the device (1). The pulled out, reinforced lower part of the line (21) can not be bitten through or torn off by the fish, that enables the reliable catch.

Abstract: A fishing leader holder which allows fishermen and fisherwomen to carry leaders of various lengths without the threat of the leaders becoming bent or being caught on other objects. The fishing leader holder (1) is comprised of a holder (1) and two ends (2) and (3) that receive fishing hooks (8). The holder (1), preferably made of PVC pipe, is hollow, cylindrically-shaped and has cut out windows (5) for the acceptance of leaders (9). The holder (1) has a first frayed end (2) and a second corked end (3). Optional holes (6), which also hold fishing hooks (8), may be included on the holder (1), as well as an optional cap (10) which would prevent the hooks (8) from falling out of the slots (4) on the frayed end (2). Because the leaders (9) are stored within the device rather than outside the device, the user need not be concerned with the leaders (9) becoming caught on external objects.

Abstract: An improved underwater trap structure is disclosed. The trap structure is easily assembled and conveniently disassembling, and facilitates the trapping of fishes and crabs. The trap structure can sink down to the bottom of waters without being hooked. The trap structure has a trapping cylinder having a handle positioned at the center of the cylinder, and an entrance at the front portion of the trapping cylinder. The entrance is positioned with a rubber funnel having a front grip which is fastened using a front mount. The rear section of the trapping cylinder is mounted with a securing hole and a bait cylinder for holding bait is placed which is secured by a rear cover.

Abstract: A user activated insect bait station particularly adapted for use with a flowable bait, including attractants and toxicants is disclosed. The bait station is formed as a sealed container fabricated from two primary parts, an upper portion and a lower portion sealingly connected along common peripheral edges. The bait station includes first and second internal chambers for containing the bait. The user forms an opening in the bait station to expose the bait in the second chamber to the atmosphere while providing access to the bait for ants. The bait station further defines a recessed groove that provides a pathway leading to the second chamber opening. A top cover is provided for shielding the bait station opening while providing access to the opening.

Abstract: A machine that quickly lays a cover over a freshly seeded area and at the same time anchors the cover to the ground. The cover helps prevent moisture from escaping from the ground and holds the seeds in place during watering the area, during heavy rains and/or during wind storms. The ground cover is a blanket in the form of a ribbon of considerable length that is rolled onto a spindle and may consist of straw or the like or the equivalent thereof retained between a pair of porous sheet, mesh or netting members or suitably attached or adhering to single sheet of the same and which preferably is biodegradable. The ribbon is payed out from the spindle as the machine traverses the area to be covered. Apparatus on the machine anchors the laid in place ribbon to the ground as it is placed on the ground by driving pins through the ribbon into the ground and/or by forming and pressing a “V shape formation in the ribbon an adjustably variable selected depth into the ground.

Abstract: New plant strengthening agents based on phytohormones for application in plant husbandry or arable cropping, preferably in fruit or wine growing. The invention relates to the use of a compound selected from the group gibberellin A4 (GA4), gibberellin A7 (GA7), gibberellin A3 (GA3), 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), N6-benzyladenine (BA) and S-abscisic acid (ABA), or of a mixture of at least two compounds selected from said group, as a plant strengthening agent, to formulations containing said active substances, as well as to a process for strengthening higher plants which is characterized in that a phytoactive amount of at least one of said compounds is applied to said higher plants, preferably to the epigeal parts thereof. Application in plant husbandry or arable cropping, preferably in fruit or wine growing, is preferred.

Abstract: Liquid fractionation systems utilizing a novel low pressure liquid delivery system generated by centrifugal force utilizing a rotating cylinder device. The rotating cylinder device distributes liquid solution to the roots of plants by use of centrifugal force, thereby eliminating the need for a high-pressure pump and nozzles. The geometrical shape of the enclosed root growth chamber is such that it allows for fractionated droplets to ricochet in multiple random directions thus completely surrounding the plant roots in 360° in any plane. The invention also provides aeroponics apparati utilizing the low-pressure liquid delivery system, methods for fractionating liquid, methods for delivering the fractionated liquid to plants, and methods for growing plants and germinating seeds.

A raised section on the solid plate portion aids in refilling water reservoir when aligned with accommodating hole in plant basket side wall.

Abstract: System and process for producing a reformate to be supplied to a fuel cell stack, the system having a reformer (12) to which fuel (14), air (16) and the anode exhaust gas (18) of the fuel cell stack can be supplied to produce the reformate (10). The system has one or more devices (20) which at least partially oxidize the anode exhaust gas (18) before it is supplied to the reformer (12).

Abstract: A catalytic reformer assembly and methods of operation, including fast start-up. The reformer assembly includes a reactor for receiving hydrocarbon fuel and air and a reforming catalyst within the reactor for converting the fuel and air to hydrogen-containing reformate. The assembly further includes a heat exchanger that straddles the reformer such that gases entering and leaving the reformer pass through opposite sides of the heat exchanger. A combustor ahead of the heat exchanger includes a first fuel injector and igniter. A fuel/air mixture may be either ignited at start-up to quickly heat both sides of the heat exchanger, the reactor, and the reformer, or passed into the reactor for reforming at steady state. A second fuel injector may be provided in the reactor. The two fuel injectors may have overlapping flow ranges and may be used separately or in tandem to provide a broad range of reformate flow.

Abstract: An automatic pet door system is disclosed. The automatic pet door system has a rectangular frame mounted between studs of a wall defining a passage for entry and exit of a pet. A door slidably moves within the frame between a lower closed position for closing the passage and an upper open position for opening the passage. The door is lifted by a drive means having a motor pulling a cable attached to the door. The motor is energized by a control means in response to a signal received from a magnetic transmitter worn by a pet when the pet approaches the door. A locking means prevents movement of the door upwardly from the closed position unless the door is moved by way of the drive means.

Abstract: A closure apparatus (1) for covering an opening (2) in a storage tank comprising: (a) a connector to connect the apparatus to the silo in the proximity of the opening (2); (b) a cover (10) to cover the opening (2), said cover having a projection (11) forming a leading edge of the cover (10), (c) an elongate guide member having a guide surface (13a, 14a), the cover (10) being slidingly engaged with the guide member and movable along the guide surface (13a, 14a) from a first position adjacent the opening (2) to a second position covering the opening (2); and (d) an actuator (4,5) to move the cover between the first position and the second position; wherein the projection (11) removes debris on the guide surface (13a, 14a) during movement between the first position and the second position.

Abstract: A window regulator apparatus includes a housing supporting an electrically driving source, accommodating therein a speed reduction gear mechanism, and secured to an inner panel of a vehicle door; a case formed integrally with the housing and within which installing a driving circuit substrate, the case having a first surface facing the inner panel of the vehicle door and further having an opening defined at a portion of the case being different from the first surface, the opening employed as a means of inserting the driving circuit substrate into the case; a connector connected to the driving circuit substrate, exposed to an area outside the case through the first surface, and facing the inner panel of the vehicle door; and a sealing member supported at the case so as to protect and make fluid-tight a periphery of the connector.

Abstract: Active seal assemblies employing active materials that can be controlled and remotely changed to alter the seal effectiveness, wherein the active seal assemblies actively change modulus properties such as stiffness, shape orientation, and the like. In this manner, in seal applications such as a vehicle window application, the seal force can be selectively reduced during movement of the window and increased when the window is stationary, thereby selectively changing seal effectiveness. Active materials refers to several different classes of materials all of which exhibit a change in at least one attribute such as dimension, shape, and/or flexural modulus when subjected to at least one of many different types of applied activation signals, examples of such signals being thermal, electrical, magnetic, stress, and the like.

Abstract: A window opening and closing assembly wherein a rack gear is operatively driven by a pinion gear which is connected to a handle, the arrangement being one wherein there is a pin mounted on one side of the pinion gear and which must move past a resilient element to reach the fully open and fully closed positions. The resilient element provides a firm feel to the handle. A replaceable housing member can have different configurations.

Abstract: A glass run structure for a vehicle door, in which a glass run is formed from a glass run body with a substantially U-shaped cross section, as well as a bottom and sidewalls provided on both sides of the bottom; and a hollow inner lip and an outer lip extending inward from an open end of the glass run body. The sidewall is formed from a steel member with an L-shaped cross section. The glass run is mounted to a sash provided in a window frame of a door panel above a belt line; while in a lower end portion below the belt line, the glass run is fixed by welding to an attachment portion of a bracket that is held by a bolt to the door panel.

Abstract: A belt molding structure for motor vehicles includes a molding body including a resiliently-deformable anti-vibration lip which is integrally formed on an inner surface of the molding body; an end cap attachable to an end of the molding body, and including an insertion portion; a lip-escape space, provided inside the molding body so as not to interfere with the insertion portion of the end cap, for allowing at least a portion of the anti-vibration lip to come into the lip-escape space when the anti-vibration lip is deformed; and a deforming guide surface formed on the end cap in a vicinity of an insertion end of the insertion portion to resiliently deform the anti-vibration lip into the lip-escape space when the insertion portion is inserted into the molding body.

Abstract: A sealing device includes an elongated sealing member and a plurality of fasteners spacedly mounted along the sealing member. The sealing member includes a tubular heat sealing layer and a tubular supporting frame, having a flexible ability, coaxially received in the heat sealing layer and defining a deformable channel within the supporting frame. Each of the fasteners has a retention base disposed within the deformable channel and a engagement head outwardly extended from the retention base through the supporting frame and the heat sealing layer in such a manner that the supporting frame and the heat sealing layer are sandwiched between the retention base of each of the fasteners and the engagement head thereof, so as to retain the supporting frame within the heat sealing layer in position.

Abstract: A sentinel event reduction door comprises a trapezoidally-shaped panel comprising four sides. A continuous hinge is connected to the panel along substantially the full length of a first side thereof. A second side of the panel is adjacent to the first side, wherein the angle defined by the intersection of the first and second sides of the panel is an acute angle. A third side of the panel, the side opposite the side of the panel from the first side, may comprise a pliable material attached thereto.

Abstract: A sill assembly for a doorjamb assembly includes a sill assembly including a sill base and a threshold. The threshold provides an inclined top surface. A pair of jamb supports are formed in an injection molding process with one of the jamb supports being attached to one end of the sill assembly and the other of the jamb supports being attached to an opposite end of the sill assembly. The jamb supports protrude outwardly from the sill assembly and provide substantially flat jamb support surfaces that engage and support a respective one of the jamb members of a doorjamb assembly. The jamb support surfaces are positioned above the top surface of the threshold such that the jamb supports raise the jamb members above the top surface of the inclined threshold.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a polishing slurry for chemical mechanical polishing. The polishing slurry comprises polishing particles, which have a particle size distribution including separated fine and large polishing particle peaks. The polishing slurry also comprises polishing particles, which have a median size of 50-150 nm. The present invention provides the slurry having an optimum polishing particle size, in which the polishing particle size is controlled and which is useful to produce semiconductors having fine design rules by changing the production conditions of the slurry. The present invention also provides the polishing slurry and a method of producing the same, in which a desirable CMP removal rate is assured and scratches are suppressed by controlling a polishing particle size distribution, and a method of polishing a substrate.

Abstract: There is provided a cerium-based abrasive containing cerium oxide as a main component, in which the abrasive particles composing the abrasive are coated with a coating layer containing at least either one of a silicon component of silicon or a silicon compound and an aluminum component of aluminum or an aluminum compound. The cerium-based abrasive can be produced by wet-dispersing the cerium-based abrasive in a dispersion medium to obtain a slurry and carrying out surface treatment by adding a treatment solution containing at least either one of the silicon compound and the aluminum compound to the slurry. Further, the cerium-based abrasive can be produced by carrying out surface treatment by adding a treatment solution containing at least either one of the silicon compound and the aluminum compound to the slurry during the pulverization step or after the pulverization step in the conventional cerium-based abrasive production process and after that roasting and classifying the obtained cerium-based abrasive.

Abstract: An adjustable surround for use with a fireplace. The surround includes first and second top members arranged end to end in a generally horizontal orientation to define a width of the surround. The first and second top members are movable relative to each other to alter the width of the surround. The surround also includes first and second side members that extend generally vertically on opposing sides of a combustion chamber enclosure of the fireplace, and first and second overlap members configured to be coupled to respective first and second side members. Relative movement between the first and second side members and respective first and second overlap member adjusts a height of the surround.

Abstract: In one aspect of the invention, a multi-tenant dwelling creates the illusion of a single tenant dwelling when viewed from an associated thoroughfare. In one embodiment, the dwelling includes a generally T-shaped structure with three discrete units, each having a separate exterior walk-through entrance. Preferably, only one of these entrances is in the front facade and fully exposed to the thoroughfare (or rather, two of the entrances are obscured), which thus gives the appearance of a single tenant structure when in fact the dwelling is adapted for simultaneously housing three different tenants. In addition to a subdivision comprised of many such dwellings, plans, instructions, methods, and kits for forming such a dwelling are also disclosed, as is a dwelling in which two generally perpendicular upstanding interior walls together separate three discrete living units.

Abstract: A drain panel assembly for the control of water leaking through a basement wall and/or entering a basement through the interface of a basement wall and a supporting footing. The assembly comprises a plastic drain panel having an upper panel section which extends vertically up from a lower skirt section. The upper panel section is positioned adjacent the basement wall and is closely-spaced therefrom by spacer means which are integral with the rear surface of the upper panel section to admit water running down the basement wall into the lower skirt section. The lower skirt section extends outwardly from the upper panel section and downwardly into contact with the supporting footing section to form a longitudinal water conduit which extends along the length of the footing and is open to the wall/footing interface to receive water therefrom.

Abstract: A tile is made of a fire-resistant ceramic, which is obtained by mixing and kneading defatted bran obtained from rice bran and a thermosetting resin, primarily baking the resulting mixture in an inert gas at 700° C. to 1000° C., crushing the resulting product into carbonized powder, mixing and kneading the carbonized powder with a ceramic powder, a solvent and, optionally, a binder to provide a plasticized mixture (ceramic-solvent mixture), pressure-forming the mixture at a compression pressure of 10 MPa to 100 MPa, and heat-treating the resulting compact again in an atmosphere of an inert gas at 500 to 1400° C.

Abstract: A movable pergola has four lateral support panels, each of which is connected to and supported by a planter proximate to its base, and a slatted roof structure supported by the lateral support panels. The movable pergola can be expanded with one or more additional expansion sections that include roof structures through use of additional pairs of lateral supports connected to planters. The expansion can be lengthwise and give the appearance of a single uniform roof structure or at a right angle to the existing slatted roof structure. Lateral roof panels connect the lateral support panels and each lateral roof panel can be connected at each of its end by two fasteners. The lateral roof panels and lateral support panels provide support for the slatted roof structure. The planters, which may be filled with a ballast material, provide stability to the movable pergola, and neither the planters nor the support panels need be fastened to the ground.

Abstract: A packaging condition for packaging a product using a film roll is stored in a recording medium, and the packaging condition is read by a recording medium reading device in a rotator of a support shaft. In this case, an operator can set an optimum packaging condition at the time of exchange of packaging rolls regardless of his/her skill. Therefore, even an unskilled operator would not set an erroneous packaging condition which may result in additional time loss and film loss.
